Rowland's Bar & Grill
Convenient location if you are going to Madison square garden. Waited a very long time just to get drinks, though the drinks were very good. The food also took awhile to come out and just wasn’t what we expected and the salmon came out raw and had to be brought back making it a longer time waiting. Fries were very good. In the end, it was a little pricey for everything and the experience.
Perfect and convenient dining after a full day of shopping!
Excellent service and good food. The bathroom is not in the restaurant and is VERY far...huge downside.
It was good. I liked the books. The waiter was kind.
food was burnt in edible Staff were apologetic but terrible experience complete waste of money unfortunately
Excellent service by our waiter and the staff overall. The food was cooked perfectly and quickly. We were sitting fairly close to the bar and we could hear the bartender chatting with many sitting at the bar giving a very warm and fun overall impression.
I cannot stress enough just how wonderful the quality of the food and PEOPLE that work here. So attentive, caring, and the food always ON POINT! Overall, just a wonderful experience. A must go in NYC! Thank you always for a great time!
Easiest non awful restaurant for pre-MSG dining.........,
Disappointed with the quality of the food. The French Onion Soup had no cheese in it. Burger was tasty and the food was fresh.
Service was fantastic! Servers are very friendly and conscientious
I had the eggs Benedict and the portion was small. Way too much green for me
This was a great find for a bite before a concert. The servers were helpful and quick. Our burgers were quite good and our friend’s special dietary needs were met. I would recommend it to anyone!
Food was not good. Awful directions to the restaurant
Have to finish trying all menu items! And the service is amazing!
Great people and food. Simple. Classic. Delicious. Always feel welcomed and at home!
I had no idea this place existed until I did a quick Google search for brunch spots near Herald Square! Perfection in all regards and would definitely come back again :)
Love this place. Great food and service. What a gem!
Food was amazing and very fast service. Made open table reservations and was thrilled to be seated and served right away! Great free home made pickles too!
Ordered a burger and it was completely burned. Chicken ceasar salad had no croutons, really heavy sauce. Below average food.
Service was a little slow, but overall the food was good and I enjoyed my time. Would definitely go again
I had the fish and chips. All breading and no fish and I am pretty sure the tarter sauce was out of a jar. Great deal for $25, let me tell you. I think our waitress came to our table a total of 3 times. We had to wave her down to get a refill on drinks. Not a great experience.
Went to Rowland’s (in the basement of Macy’s) during the height of the holiday rush with a 6 and 8 year old who really needed a bit of R&R. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to eat near Penn Station, which is sometimes not easy to find. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived even on this busy Saturday evening. Straightforward and tasty menu (including a separate kids menu), great service and a relaxed, although busy atmosphere. A bit high in price for what you get but not totally out of line for Manhattan.
Excellent service and food. Wait times were acceptable. Good place if you only have an hour for lunch.
The food was great
Very accommodating. We were running late and assumed we missed the reservation. They called and rebooked even though there was no availability on open table. Food was yummy
My food came out raw and inedible after two attempts to fix it. The other people in my group had food cooked properly.
The food was ok. The wine was good, but the service was absolutely awful and the restaurant was not that busy. Even after complaining to the management it still was incredibly slow. They are not on top of the service game at all.
Knew before hand we were not “fine dining”. Meeting friends for a a bite to eat. One step above a food court but four times the price. I ordered the Greek veggie. Burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were very good. The veggie burger was overly dry. My date ordered a burger Paying 19 .00 for a burger, one would expect exceptional. Not the case. The cod fish was OK. The best part if the meal was the pull apart bread. A shout out to the waiter. He was attentive and pleasant.
In the end, could have gone to Burger King and had a below average burger and saved money.
Great place- food needs to be better.
Chicken in Salads needs to be fresh and white meat. Steak sandwich needs more steak.
Place was super clean & food was delicious! Recommend their chopped salad... yummy! Wish I lived closer!!!!
Located in Macys basement - full service restaurant ideal for pre or post Madison Square lunch or dinner.
Good food, reasonably priced. My wife and I met friends there for dinner - had a good time.
Wasn’t what we expected but good
After seeing the mice run back forwards eating on a piece of chicken that was drop under a table.. I won’t be back there again....
WE HAD A BIG PROBLEM THAT YOUR RESTAURANT DID NOT HAVE BATHROOMS. WE SPENT OVER $100.00 ON DINNER NOT INCLUDING THE TIP. WHEN YOU INSTALL BATHROOMS, WE WILL COME BACK.
When booking the restaurant I had no idea it was inside Macy's. It was hard to navigate to get to the lower level believe it or not. I have to say though, the food was delicious and their specialty coctails were amazing. For such a great restaurant I just wish that it wasn't in the basement of Macy's, that gives off a weird vibe.
I didn't know this restaurant was at the B-level of Macy's, so I was thoroughly surprised when the cocktail drinks and food were really good. The RH burger is one of the better burgers I've had in NYC; they mixed bacon in the beef I believe. It was overall excellent but towards the end felt a little rushed by the staff to leave (even though it was relatively empty for a Tuesday night and nowhere near closing, just a shift change). I do recommend eating here though, this seems to be one of the few viable spots near Penn Station other than bar foods.
Had a chopped salad. They initially left off the chicken and barely had any feta cheese i had requested. It was nothing to write home about and pricey for what it was. And there is no resteoom in the restaurant. It’s convenient if you’re in the store and comfortable seating. Maybe good for a burger and comfort food.
Super attentive staff, front of house and kitchen. Very impressed with the clean, well-thought food. Selections were perfect for a relaxing lunch. Definitely a sweet find for the area.
Great food and nice ambiance inside Macy’s! My friend and I wanted a healthy lunch option from the menu so we ordered the chopped salad (w/crispy chicken) and a side of fries. All of the salad ingredients were very fresh and crisp. The fries were delish, too! Would definitely go back again!
Great Service, Yes I will tell friends ,co worker to check out this spot
