Rowland's Bar & Grill
Overall, food was good. Steak was good, seasoning slightly salty. Service was good. Excellent seating, accomidation met.
Had never heard of Rowlands before I went. And for good reason. It's tucked inside Macy's lower level. But now that I've discovered it, I'll be back.
The food was terrific, and varied. I had the falafel burger. Which I would now eat anytime over a hamburger. My guest had the chopped crispy chicken salad. Judging by how quickly she finished hers, I'd say she liked it.
The restaurant is tucked behind the food court on the lower level of Macy's. Worth the effort.
Great place for lunch if you're shopping at Macy's. Food is quite good and the service is fast and friendly. They falafel burger is a must-try!
My daughter & daughter in law took me to NYC for my birthday! We started our trip out shopping at Macy’s & stopped into Rowland’s for lunch. The staff was welcoming & attentive! The cocktails were delightful & our food was great!
Food and atmosphere were good, service was a little slow considering the dining room wasn't very full. Prices were a bit expensive for what it was. Probably better if you're have a Macys employee discount.
Rowland's has a nice ambiance and its uniqueness is that its in the Lower Level of Macy's iconic store in Herald Square.
After a busy day shopping all the 7-8 floors relax downstairs with a nice glass of wine. Hamburgers looked good but I'm a vegetarian.
Don't be in a hurry to go anywhere, service is slow.
Going to a concert at Madison Square Garden. Very friendly service, one of our party’s orders wasn’t filled as requested, but overall we go back!!
Wanted something close to MSG for a quick bite! Good was great and with a full bar. Drinks were amazing too. Service was amazing.
It took over 30 minutes to get a medium rare burger and it came raw. We could not wait to have it cooked better. They did take it off bill. Right before leaving a woman next to us got a burger too. She sent it back too for being raw.
Will not go again and would not recommend.
Great food especially the pull-apart bread. Service was fantastic, it's waiter service but they get you in and out super quick. My one gripe is the plate the 'small' salad (the small is gigantic!!!!) is served on - it should come in a bowl. The plate was so full I had a hard time keeping food from sliding off! But highly recommend nonetheless.
In the basement of Macy's. Place empty, sat for 10 minutes until someone came over. Ordered what I thought was a unique NY deli sandwich, ended up being 2 thick pieces of bread and a little bit of pastrami with other stuff. Not an enjoyable meal!
It appeared as if they were short-staffed and it was the busiest I had ever seen it in the restaurant. They were doing the best they could but the service level was different from where it normally is
Colby was the perfect waitress. Always friendly and very knowledgeable about both food and the surroundings, helping tourists like us our greatly.
The Food is great in this restaurant , you get a good size portion and the prices are on the affordable side , You get tap water and they keep refilling your glass which is also on the plus side as I only drink water with my meals and in most places you have to buy bottled water
Convenient location if you are going to Madison square garden. Waited a very long time just to get drinks, though the drinks were very good. The food also took awhile to come out and just wasn’t what we expected and the salmon came out raw and had to be brought back making it a longer time waiting. Fries were very good. In the end, it was a little pricey for everything and the experience.
Perfect and convenient dining after a full day of shopping!
Excellent service and good food. The bathroom is not in the restaurant and is VERY far...huge downside.
It was good. I liked the books. The waiter was kind.
food was burnt in edible Staff were apologetic but terrible experience complete waste of money unfortunately
Excellent service by our waiter and the staff overall. The food was cooked perfectly and quickly. We were sitting fairly close to the bar and we could hear the bartender chatting with many sitting at the bar giving a very warm and fun overall impression.
I cannot stress enough just how wonderful the quality of the food and PEOPLE that work here. So attentive, caring, and the food always ON POINT! Overall, just a wonderful experience. A must go in NYC! Thank you always for a great time!
Easiest non awful restaurant for pre-MSG dining.........,
Disappointed with the quality of the food. The French Onion Soup had no cheese in it. Burger was tasty and the food was fresh.
Service was fantastic! Servers are very friendly and conscientious
I had the eggs Benedict and the portion was small. Way too much green for me
This was a great find for a bite before a concert. The servers were helpful and quick. Our burgers were quite good and our friend’s special dietary needs were met. I would recommend it to anyone!
Food was not good. Awful directions to the restaurant
Have to finish trying all menu items! And the service is amazing!
Great people and food. Simple. Classic. Delicious. Always feel welcomed and at home!
I had no idea this place existed until I did a quick Google search for brunch spots near Herald Square! Perfection in all regards and would definitely come back again :)
Love this place. Great food and service. What a gem!
Food was amazing and very fast service. Made open table reservations and was thrilled to be seated and served right away! Great free home made pickles too!
Ordered a burger and it was completely burned. Chicken ceasar salad had no croutons, really heavy sauce. Below average food.
Service was a little slow, but overall the food was good and I enjoyed my time. Would definitely go again
I had the fish and chips. All breading and no fish and I am pretty sure the tarter sauce was out of a jar. Great deal for $25, let me tell you. I think our waitress came to our table a total of 3 times. We had to wave her down to get a refill on drinks. Not a great experience.
Went to Rowland’s (in the basement of Macy’s) during the height of the holiday rush with a 6 and 8 year old who really needed a bit of R&R. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to eat near Penn Station, which is sometimes not easy to find. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived even on this busy Saturday evening. Straightforward and tasty menu (including a separate kids menu), great service and a relaxed, although busy atmosphere. A bit high in price for what you get but not totally out of line for Manhattan.
Excellent service and food. Wait times were acceptable. Good place if you only have an hour for lunch.
The food was great
Very accommodating. We were running late and assumed we missed the reservation. They called and rebooked even though there was no availability on open table. Food was yummy
My food came out raw and inedible after two attempts to fix it. The other people in my group had food cooked properly.
