What a lovely girls’ lunch with awesome service and great food. We didn’t want to leave (& our waiter did not rush us, so thank you for that as well!) We sat in the side/lower lounge area, and it was just perfect.
French was a piece of art and tastes even better. I would recommend.
Best brunch in Buffalo! Very good will be back soon
Unfortunately, the squash soup was just lukewarm when served, and the bread on the charcuterie tray was stale and hard as opposed to crispy. The salads were nice.
Our party of 5 had dinner at Rowhouse before a BPO concert. We were seated immediately after our arrival. The interior of the building is quite spectacular and makes an excellent first impression. Our server was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. The food was generally very good, although my wife did not like the French Onion soup. Two people ordered pizzas and couldn’t finish them ... they are large enough for two people to share. My wife had a steak, which was cooked perfectly. I ordered scallops and lobster risotto, which also were delicious.
My only complaint would be the sound level. There was music playing on the sound system and the volume was too loud for normal dinner conversation. Consequently, all of the diners were speaking very loudly to be heard over the music!
Otherwise, we had a great meal in a lovely setting and would recommend Rowhouse to our friends.
Very nice obiance... A, small situatied bar with very knowledgeable bar staff...
Everything came out wrong :( very underwhelming compared to the ambiance.
hated parking, don't want to be forced to put an ap on my phone to park, plenty of restaurants in suburbs where parking is not an issue, it's not the cost, its the agravation
Went there for a valentines day dinner.
Restaurant ambiance is very nice. Waitress introduced herself and we ordered a bottle of wine which cam quickly. Unfortunately it was a long time before our waitress came by to take our order and even longer before the food was delivered. Salmon on one dish was overcooked and actually burned on one side (dry) and the scallops with lobster risotto was also dry & cold. Both dishes seemed like they were under the warming lamp way too long. I tried to order some melted butter , by the time it arrived we were almost done and it arrived cold, not melted.
We have been to Rowhouse many times and have been really pleased except tonite.. Valentines evening not so great. First.. the Host... The Host was delightful. After a pleasant greeting took us right to our table. Our waiter also was Wonderful!!! The best. Our meal unfortunately not so great. I had the risotto with lobster. It reads like an extra special dish. I mean risotto is special and toss in lobster and scallops and wow! Right? But no. The risotto lacked any sort of flavor and regrettably was a bit cold. The lobster just did not taste right. The scallops were a bit over-cooked. My spouse had a salad that unfortunately looked like it was put together very quickly where all the special things were haphazardly piled in the middle. He also ordered a pizza which was ok.. not the usual pizza oven perfection. For dessert we shared the macarons which were homemade perfection which is where my one Star came from. They were soft but with the perfect bit of crunch and inside a pop of raspberry. Hurrah! After a few glasses of bubbly I ordered a night cap of coffee and sadly I was told there was none brewed and no offer to brew it.
On the way home I wished I had just ordered an appetizer and soup because that all looked good passing by our table but it was a special night. I think it was an off night.
Wife and I went for Valentines dinner.
Ambiance was 5 star, the work done inside was fantastic. Server was very pleasant, but doesn't know the wine to well The menu selection was minimal and not to my liking (Alabama Catfish...no thanks) but ok I can find something, so we both ordered steak and ensured we were clear hers had to be well done (waitress never asked how mine should be cooked) Hers came med RARE and the steak was set atop "brocollitini" (fancy way of saying broccoli) with the blood running all over it. We are people who do NOT send food back (thank you hollywood) then they tried to charge us for the bloody mess. After a stern assertion to our waitress that there was no way were paying for it, it was taken off the bill. We ended up eating at our go-to casual restaurant to finish out our "just perfect" Valentines evening.
Other issues regarding the menu I felt there should have been bread or salad available. It just seems someone put a huge effort into a remodel, and forgot about a decent menu. I may try the brunch in the future because the ambiance is that good and I heard good things about the breakfast food.
Awesome experience. Second time here visiting. I’ll come back!
Made reservations and hostess seemed aggravated when we indicated we didn’t want to sit in the bar area. She claimed there were no tables “set up” upstairs. After she reluctantly brought us upstairs, we we seated off to the far left where is was drafty and dark (the lights were barely on at that end). Oh.. by the way all the table were indeed “set up”. So I don’t know what she meant earlier. At the time there was only one other table occupied in the middle section that was warmer with lights on. Our server allowed us to move. The server was ok. Although, we were missing some silverware and had a hard time getting the water pitcher refilled and never received the requested bread for the table until the dinner was over. Weird, because we had a wonderful experience when we came one time for brunch. The atmosphere was nicer with white linen table clothes and great service. What’s happening? I would recommend maybe for brunch if it was like before, but not dinner. It’s a beautiful restaurant. Just a shame the hostess seems annoyed all the time and it’s always so empty downstairs.
We always enjoy dining at Rowhouse, though we usually go for breakfast or brunch. Jordan was our server and we’ve had him several times before and he’s always kind, attentive, and has great recommendations. We got the roasted chicken, rowhouse burger, shishito peppers, and a margherita pizza. It was ALL fantastic. Great food, impeccable service, and such a great atmosphere.
Really tasty options, even for vegetarians. The mimosas were most welcome. The service was slow but we were not in a hurry and he was super friendly. We stopped at the bakery counter and spent even more money! I tasted things I never had and enjoyed the whole experience.
"Learn to treat life to the best, put stress to rest." This is the spot, delicious food, great atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
Beautiful restaurant, sadly seated at a small corner table and could not appreciate the space. Requested different table (not full) but host would not oblige. Service a tad slow but food delicious. May try again not sure
Lovely setting for brunch with friends!! Our waitress was very sweet!
Food was delicious! The dinning area was a bit loud and where we were sitting was highly trafficked by other customers. Server was attentive and fast. The space is a hidden city gem.
We loved the atmosphere and menu choices. The appetizers were delicious, as were the drinks. However, when the fried fish entree came to the table it was burned to a crisp. The server did not say anything and we debated whether or not to send it back, but didn't want to disrupt the rest of the dinner party. Clearly, the kitchen staff and server ignored the charred breaded fish. We will not come back for dinner, but may consider the bakery one Saturday morning. Truly disappointing, after having waited so long to try Rowhouse.
Great atmosphere. Food is a little overpriced for what it was, but it was delicious. The service was great and a beautiful inside like no other brunch spot. Would definitely come back and recommend to others!
Great food, which I wasn't planning on. The atmosphere is fabulous, although the music was very loud. The waitress appearrd to be very inexperienced.
My burger was raw. My waitress a mess. It was full bright lights, cold and loud. I was hoping for better. 😣
My group just had a fabulous brunch at Rowhouse. It's a lovely space with an imaginative menu and friendly quick service. Loved the fresh juices, and they have great choices for picky eaters, foodies, and gourmands! Everything from a fresh yogurt parfait with granola & a healthy juice blend to a "breakfast burger" or biscuits and gravy! I've been there for lunch and for drinks & dinner as well, and it's always terrific. Very few places can be great as a cafe, bar, and restaurant, but they manage it!
It is such a cool space! I would say that people should visit this uniquely renovated mansion! IT is huge and each nook and cranny is its own...place. From the pizza bar, to the cafe, to the upstairs well-lit dining room! Lovely! The food was tasty and he service was efficient and friendly!
Excellent Thursday night dinner for two.
Food was very good. Jordan, our waiter, was very nice and informative. We sat in the front room on the second floor...lightening could be dimmed a little more in there. Was a little too bright compared to the rest of the dining areas.
The environment is lovely and the wait staff was good. However, their food is not good. I went a year ago and the food was moderate to ok. I decided to try again figuring that it was going to take them a while to get on their feet after opening. The food has not improved and I will not be returning. There is a lot of competition in Buffalo due to the opening of many restaurants. I am hoping they can improve the quality of their meals so that they can stay open. It is a unique space and I wish them luck!
Clearly not enough employees there. The server was great. But she was the only one. There was no one to greet us when we walked in. I had to search the bar to find someone. The filet mignon that was part of the Surf and Turf was the size of a half dollar. And it was not cooked well. At least the server was very nice.
I had the burger, fries, (and took home a chocolate croissant) and it was all delicious!
New Years Brunch. Excellent food & service. Unique space. Plan on returning for brunch or dinner.
After enjoying dinner here once, I was very disappointed when I tried their New Years Day brunch. The whole experience seemed like organized chaos. The ‘make your own omelette station’ consisted of 2 omelette choices.. not what I consider to be make your own. Several things were empty when we went to the buffet and several things that should have been kept warm weren’t (pizza was just on a plate). When we walked in we waited 10 minutes for a staff to address us and you could not tell who was working there and who wasn’t besides one attentive server we had while sitting. All other staff were dressed in normal clothes and running around frantically. The buffet was $35 and it was not worth it in my opinion. The food was bland and boring. This is a great spot but their execution is very poor in my opinion. I would not return based on this experience.
Food was like warm. Atmosphere is wonderful. If the food and service would catch up to the atmosphere the rowhouse would be special
Having come from out of town, we made a 1pm reservation online. When we arrived, there was no one present to seat us nor an indication of where to let someone know we were there (we asked a cook). Our server didn’t come over for 20 minutes; and then, it took another 15 to get our tea. (Our food order was not yet taken at this point, and we were starving!) We put in our food orders, and then we realized that if tea took 15 minutes, it would be a while before we saw food; our server kindly asked if we’d like soup while we waited for the entrees, but that bowl didn’t show up until the food came — 45 minutes later. Nice ambiance, but don’t go unless you have a lot of time to spend there.
An amazing, unique, beautiful spot! Delicious food, good service.
This is my fourth time trying Rowhouse. Each time I am disappointed that they just cannot get it together. The service was horrendous and the food did not match the menu descriptions (second time this has occurred). The restaurant was not even busy. I wanted to keep giving them chances because I would like to see them be successful, but I am done now.
I used to love this place. The building is so unique with open spaces as well as bright cozy rooms. It has gone through many iterations since I first visited. The food preparation is not as outstanding as it was once. However, the server was pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive, and the building is still beautiful.
French toast was amazing! Gorgeous setting. Downstairs bar small but we were first ones there so not a problem for us.
Festive holiday ambience with great brunch offerings and nice staff. Santa even made an appearance! The "working girl breakfast" sandwich was very good as was the beef hash.
Plates served did not match menu description. Potato and salad was in menu description. Plate arrived with no potato. When we asked the server she mentioned something about the salad. Did not pursue it, just wanted to leave. The waitress seemed new, possibly her first waitress job, she seemed “frazzled”. She obviously was trying but not supported by the kitchen. Will not be back.
