Very beautiful, very chic, excellent service!.......
My boyfriend and I went for afternoon tea for his birthday. The staff was so so so accommodating and kind! They set up the table beautifully with rosé already poured and rose petals on the table, wished my boyfriend a happy birthday multiple times and separated food for his nut allergy. The staff, the food and the ambiance was simply amazing. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Afternoon tea was great, however it was definitely too expensive, for the price I would have expected more food.
Awesome job! The service was spot on, social distancing was nicely done and the food/drink was delicious
Beautiful afternoon for a bridal shower! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable
Would highly recommend
It would have been nice to hear about the different tea options if we don’t get to see the box. In addition, it would have been nice to sample multiple teas, rather than just one. Also I thought service could have been better for the price. I have a tree nut allergy and felt like I was getting blamed for saying so when we sat down rather than when I made the reservations. I understand the concern from the restaurants perspective, but It also didn’t feel like good customer service to be blamed/told I didn’t say anything when I booked. It really wasn’t a big deal from my perspective as I didn’t care to wait for other food to be made and I also didnt mind avoiding the food that contained tree nuts.
We enjoyed the experience but it seemed a little pricey for what we got.
We had a wonderful time - it was a great tea with great service, in a lovely setting.
Beautiful environment, lovely view, excellent food and even friendlier staff.
Lovely Tea! Delicious sandwiches, scones and sweets.
Went to celebrate a special anniversary. Staff were lovely, food was great, no rushing. Beautiful table right with a water view. Highly recommend.
Great afternoon tea! We enjoyed the ambiance and selection.
This was a mother/daughter afternoon and u made it so special. Had a gorgeous table overlooking the Boston Harbor.... with rose peddles on the table. The whole experience was fabulous! Thank you.
Afternoon tea at Rowe’s Wharf is good. The scones and chocolate cake were very dry, but the other desserts were not bad. The tea selection was good. We all enjoyed the tea and ambiance. We had a great view by the window looking into the water!
Everything was lovely! The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious . Very good selection of teas-great service. Wonderful view of the harbor.
Typically I leave afternoon teas feeling absolutely stuffed and I was a little disappointed in the petite size of the savory sandwiches. Everything was beautifully presented, but I felt more comfortable with the TravelZoo voucher price we paid. With that said, it still made for a very nice afternoon outing and we were taken care of very well with as many hot water refills as we wanted.
Our seating next to the windows gave us a beautiful view of the harbor. The tea was excellent though a tea cozy might have kept the pot warmer for a little longer. We were there late in the afternoon and it seemed as if our tier of tea treats were a little tired. the cut breads didn't appear to be freshly made. Still, it was a wonderful assortment and a delightful atmosphere. The flat rate for the parking is excellent on weekends.
The Rowe's Wharf Sea Grille high tea/afternoon tea was beautiful. Delicious tea options, the food was spectacular and the view of that wharf was beautiful. My friend and I had a lovely experience and we can't wait to come back again.
Very relaxing afternoon
Vegetarian options are not good. Basically just raw vegetables.
This is experience was phenomenal. The atmosphere was clean, quite and very enjoyable. The tea, sandwiches, and desserts were excellent, well crafted and very tasty regarding anything made in-house. You were able to smell each tea prior to choosing and they continually filled your teapot to ensure you always had a hot, full pot. With two guests you can easily feel satisfied. The only single aspect that is a bit unfortunate of this experience is the grille pre-selects seating arrangements so it is difficult to request seating by the windows when you arrive if that's what you would like. My suggestion is to either call when you book to request a seat near the windows, or include a comment in your online reservation on OpenTable for a window seat. Also, I did not feel rushed at all. In other afternoon tea experiences I've had, due to high guest numbers and limited space, your time is restricted. At the Rowes Wharf Grille I felt at leisure and content to enjoy the experience. Highly recommend.
This was our second time here for afternoon tea. The service was much better the first time. It was fairly quiet this time as well so I would have expected the service to have been more attentive for the price.
Lovely atmosphere and the staff is fabulous. So friendly and attentive. It's pricey but worth it for the atmosphere and experience.
Very enjoyable--- beautiful setting-- our waiter was wonderful --- want to do it again
I was very distraught that when it was time to pay the bill the waiter asked us if we had a groupon and when we said no he ran the bill and said he was just checking. After we left, we looked online and found a travelzoo voucher for half the price. I can’t understand why he wouldn’t have pointed that out to us. It doesn’t affect his tip or anything. I also paid $40 in parking for an hour and an half so this further aggregated me. Additionally, the tea strainers are not very effective so half of my cup was full of tea leaves which was very unpleasant. Other than this the water view is nice and the tea selection and food was good.
Overall the afternoon tea experience was lovely. I was a bit disappointed that the scones we’re so tiny, compared to the scones you would receive in the UK for afternoon tea. There was great flavor in every piece.
I unfortunately read other reviews after I booked the reservation. I am giving 2 stars because the tea was good and the service was adequate but nothing special. I have experienced several afternoon teas and was deeply disappointed with our experience. Unfortunately for $100.00 I even recommend Costco frozen selections over the bites offered; I even bake better. The jams were provided in Smucker's jars as previously written and the embarrassment of the afternoon was only offset by the ability to laugh at the underwhelming experience.
Birthday and holidays
The food, the tea, the Christmas decor, the ambience... everything was excellent! The staff was outstanding and very kind. They were also very accommodating of my 22 month old granddaughter. They even gave her an adorable stuffed animal. I highly recommend afternoon tea here!
Unfortunately our entire experience was very disappointing.
We were not greeted at arrival and after checking in on time,
we were told to step aside for a few minutes.
The hostess was unfriendly, rude and un interested with us.
We stepped aside, during our wait two parties arrived (after us) which the hostess sat immediately. This made us feel awkward and uncomfortable. She looked at us and walked away.
I will add there were several empty tables available.
When the manager approached he greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. We said yes, she told us to wait.
They exchanged a few words and he sat us!
He apologized for the wait. He approached our table two more times after that also apologizing.
Our waitress was pleasant enough, but was rushing us.
The assistant table staff took plates away before they were finished.
Without asking if we were thru.
The food was just mediocre, Sadly nothing special.
Especially for a Boston venue!
I asked twice for milk with my tea and waited almost 10 minutes!
Our waitress was most prompt at delivering the check and offering “to go “ cups !
My daughter and I enjoy tea as often as we can together.
Boston is our home and we enjoy experiencing different venues.
We will not be back here.
Fortunately there are so many better choices in Boston.
I have told everybody I can about this very poor experience.
The food is delicious. The scones never disappoint. A good selection of teas.
Beautiful ambiance but very expensive for the amount of food
Great view; delicious, fresh and flavorful tea treats. It's expensive, but worth the trip for a special occasion. We'll be back!
Everything was delicious, great attention to detail!
Took my sister here for a small bridal shower and it could not have been more lovely. The staff allowed me to set up some small favors ahead of time and were very considerate of our party. The food was great but the tea was even better!
The afternoon tea service was elegant and sophisticated.
Loved the rose petals and the view. Water was not hot enough, had to ask for milk (not cream). Bit pricey.
This was wonderful! The server was very attentive and polite, the food was fantastic and their tea selection was very diverse!
Had a great experience having afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. Our server, Michael, was excellent, and all of the food was delicious.
Beautiful dining experience - the best "afternoon tea" food I've had yet. We went for my brother's birthday because he wanted to do something "fancy" and Rowes Wharf didn't disappoint. Only caveat - even though the restaurant is on the water, the tea takes place indoors due to the use of VERY nice plateware, so if you wanted to sit outside, book the main restaurant instead!
The food was delicious and the tea was excellent! Service was okay - definitely seemed a bit elitist which I guess I should've expected given the location. One of the bussers was so concerned with fixing my teapot lid that didn't quite fit that he dumped out all my tea and brought back a new pot empty! Definitely a bit weird but likely an isolated occurrence - our server made me a fresh pot right away. We were a bit confused because I'm not sure they understood what vegetarian meant - I think they thought my friend was vegan and didn't give her anything with eggs but also brought several pastries made with cream/other dairy products? Maybe clarifying dietary restrictions with customers and all the servers would be helpful :)
Beautiful location and view. Good value but not great, as it was very expensive and the portions were a bit smaller than I'm used to for afternoon tea. Overall we had a good time!
