Row 34 - Portsmouth
Join us for $1 oysters everyday until 5 pm.
The sibling restaurant to Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34 serves up a seafood-heavy menu in an industrial-inspired setting. Chef/Owner Jeremy Sewall's menu offers fish entrees and an extensive oyster selection, along with craft beers and an eclectic wine list. Classic comfort food side dishes round out the menu.

One of the best meals that I’ve ever eaten in my life!
Dollar oysters are excellent... was a little disappointed with the table we had. It felt like we were kind of smushed between a hightop table and the waitstaff's prep station. But our server was awesome. Drinks were awesome and our server even treated us to a cordial because one of us was celebrating a birthday. We will be back!
The food and drinks were excellent and the service was outstanding. Will definitely be going back again soon.
Waiter was wonderful and attentive. Very nice atmosphere but the music was rather loud and that coupled will all tables being full, there were times where it was difficult her hear and made conversation difficult.
Their raw oysters are outstanding. My wife I I ordered flat hanger steak. Flavorful but one piece was full of grizzle and inedible.
Very limited dinner menu. Since I don’t most fish, my only other option was chicken or a burger. I would be great if they could offer another meat option.
All in all it was good and we would go back.
Service was good. Very small menu, decent food, not good enough for the price. Music was very loud and very dance hall, not great for an intimate date night, seems to be more of a load group style restaurant
Food was great. Had the salmon and tuna board. Excellent!
Fresh food is a rad thing to put in yo face and eat.
Raw bar food was delicious! Bartender was great. I need more of the Tuna tartare . I will still go to Baltimore for my crab cakes, this one did not meet expectations .
Wonderful experience as always!
We always enjoy our visits to Row 34 in Portsmouth. Chris, the manager, always takes the time to make us feel special. The best!
Not at all what I expected. The menu was not very descriptive and was limited. The bar selection also was extremely limited and they did not have a list of what liquors they had. The drink I got was a frozen drink and I absolutely would not have ordered if I knew that. I will not be back.
The food wasnt as good as the other owned restaurants
My wife an I had an amazing experience. The server was very accommodating and very pleasant... the food was delicious!
Service and food were outstanding. We took our clients there on their recommendation and everyone had a great time.
Would have liked a few more seafood selections on menu. Lighting is a little to dark for my taste. Also music a little loud, but overall very nice experience.
Excellent service, food and wine list. Very local food with a cosmopolitan twist.
Everything was great. We had the fish tacos, the salmon classic and the potatoes. Waiter was great. Recommend this place very highly
Yummy times here always!!!!!
My daughter took me here For my birthday. And I was treated like a Queen!
Brought friends for New Years Day brunch. You have two new fans! They’ll definitely be back. We promised to meet some Sunday for the ramen! Meantime we introduced them to our favorite oyster: Swell Oysters.
They agreed. They are The Bomb! Deeeelicious.
We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner here. The oysters we started with were excellent as were our main courses. Our server Conor was outstanding. Really an excellent experience. I’ve been here a few times before for drinks and snacks but never for a full meal as it is on the pricey side. The decor is minimal but somewhat cold.
Birthday/ New Year casual.
The best restaurant in Portsmouth, bar none! Great team and great food!
I felt the food was mediocre. Nothing fancy for the price. $20 for fish and chips. With a thimble full of cold slaw. Have to pay extra for a bread basket.
We will drive for over an hour each way for this restaurant. Island Creek and Row 34 have other spots in Boston but this is our favorite.
Great atmosphere. Excellent service in the beginning. Overall the food was good not exceptional. The menu is somewhat limited. The wine list, well good is overpriced for what you get. The energy in this restaurant is excellent. You better have a fat wallet to walk in here…
The service was nothing short of outstanding. Always an excellent meal and the oysters are top notch.
The food was disappointing. Mediocre at best! Our waitress was very good and friendly. Menu seemed limited for a restaurant in Portsmouth!
Row 34 is a sure thing! The food is fantastic, service is top notch, and the atmosphere is lively. Had oysters, tuna tartare, warm lobster roll, some corn bread, and their delicious dinner rolls. Awesome beer selection but went for the vodka instead. Highly recommend Row 34, probably been 15 times and every time I would have written a similar review.
Awesome oyster tacos, $1 oysters and the spaghetti was unusual and very tasty. Service was great; we were so glad to find it through Open Table!
All three of you loved our food! We shared the bacon wrapped brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were delicious. We also started with a seasonal salad. I had the duck breast as the main course and it was terrific, although a tiny bit salty. The others enjoyed their main courses too. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Drinks/martinis were excellent. Perfect place for a relaxing, not rushed dining experience. Overall excellent!
Great meal. Can’t wait to return
Window seating is bit on the cold and breezy side
Great beers. Tuna tartare was heavily marinated with strong flavors that way overpowered the fish. Fish taco was great.
The warm buttered lobster roll was very salty (salt crystals in the lobster meat) and the there was too much butter on the roll and lobster.
We had another excellent time. The food and service is always keeps us coming back.
Excellent food in a modern but comfortable setting. Good wine list, both by glass and by bottle. Attentive but unintrusive service. One of our favorite Portsmouth restaurants.
Food and service were both excellent. Oysters were the best I've ever had. Ambiance is not my cup of tea. It's totally open and loud and, I believe, meant to appeal to a younger crowd while the cost might exclude much of that crowd. Pricing is what you might expect in Boston but not necessarily Portsmouth, NH. The Hanover Street parking garage is right next door and convenient, which is great because on-street parking is difficult to find. However, $16 for a 90-minute dining experience seems a bit much. When I made the dinner reservation through OpenTable, I was asked if this was a special occasion. I answered yes because we were taking my son out for his birthday, but I wasn't expecting anything. Row 34 brought out a complimentary gigantic ice cream sunday with a lit candle for the occasion, and that was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend Row 34 to others, but be prepared to drop $150-200 for dinner for 2-3 people.
With a 6:30 reservation, it took a long time after being seated to get service. It was nice to get some complimentary white wine while we waited for drink, so good recovery. Food was great.
Food and Staff were excellent. Cant say enough about the wait staff and bar staff. We went twice this past weekend because we were soo pleased!!
