Row 34 - Portsmouth
Join us for $1 oysters everyday until 5 pm.
The sibling restaurant to Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34 serves up a seafood-heavy menu in an industrial-inspired setting. Chef/Owner Jeremy Sewall's menu offers fish entrees and an extensive oyster selection, along with craft beers and an eclectic wine list. Classic comfort food side dishes round out the menu.

Food and Staff were excellent. Cant say enough about the wait staff and bar staff. We went twice this past weekend because we were soo pleased!!
The butterscotch pudding was phenomenal. Thanks to the Row 34 team for getting a delicious bday dessert ordered for my significant other before he came back from the bathroom.
Hot and buttery lobster roll had way too much butter on it. It distracted from the lobster itself. Otherwise everything else was great.
Food is good as usual. I always tend to sit at the bar, for some reason the service just you would think would be quicker than it is, with two bartenders behind there in two or three people at the bar it was extremely slow
Great food great service. Many menu options. A great place for a purple or larger group.
Enjoyed a great meal here on Sunday night. It was restaurant week but I don’t think this restaurant was participating. Oysters to start were yummy - nice selection on the menu. My spouse had the fish tacos and said they were great. I had the salmon and asked for it cooked medium to medium well. It was perfect. One of the best salmon dishes I have had.
Outstanding food, the kitchen knows their stuff. As some have noted, service, while good, is not as attentive as it could be. A bit pricey. Unfortunately had live entertainment when we dined there.
Love this place. Made it in time for Oysters at $1. They went out of their way to mention this. Oysters were delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Had a great dinner. Food was interesting and very good. Decor is on the industrial end of the spectrum but nice. The lighting was set very low, though. The highlight was our genuinely friendly and knowledgable server. On this occasion the vibe was much more welcoming than we've experienced at the sibling restaurant in Boston.
We had a delightful lunch at Row 34. Everything was really delicious. Oysters, clam chowder, calamari, Brussel sprouts, lobster roll. I would definitely go again. Service was very attentive.
Service was a bit slow at first, took almost 10 minutes for our server to come over. But after that I feel as though she made an effort to be more attentive. Oysters and drinks were good. I had the shrimp spaghetti, didn't love the sauce as I was expecting a red sauce, and the sauce that came with it was gritty and a little over powering. My boyfriend had the burger and added fried oysters to it. He really enjoyed that, and the fries were thin and delicious. The atmosphere was vibrant and romantic. Be ready to spend over $100 for two people, but would go back!
Always a fave. Can’t get too much of Row 34. Everything is always DELICIOUS. And the service is the best ever.
We love this restaurant ...one of our very favorites in Portsmouth.
Oysters and mussels
Row 34 is pretty amazing. The only reason it loses a star is because the servers consistently disappear for prolonged periods of time. Those same servers are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive...right up to the point that your meal is delivered. Then they tend to disappear. I write this based on four recent visits so it's not a one time thing or limited to a single server.
On the plus side the location is great, especially convenient to nearby hotels. The food is stellar and well-priced. I like that they rotate the menu based on what type of fresh fish they're able to source. The desserts are not appealing to me but my colleagues rave about the butterscotch pudding. Go to Row 34 and prepare to be deliciously fed.
Great restaurant 😀👍. Dollar oysters are always wonderful. Food choices are a little limited but very good.
Went for business lunch. A little pricey but then again, it's Portsmouth. Seemed very trendy and hip. Food was okay.
So noisy. My friend and I were screaming at each other across the table. Music was ridiculously loud and tonally wrong for a restaurant. Waitress said that the owner’s wanted to create a »vibe ”. We had one drink and left
Great restaurant but very, very noisy. The appeared to be two very energetic wedding parties dining the night we were there, in addition to the loud piped in music. We were a party of 4 and all had to have our cell phone flashlights out to read the menu. Would not recommend for a quiet, intimate dinner. Food was excellent and price appropriate.
Our server knew the menu and ingredients well. Food quality was good. I would say the servings are on the smaller side. My shrimp and rice bowl had only two or three tiny shrimp. Full of flavor, though.
Raw 34 has a short daily printed menu. But First, The Oysters were excellent and tasted very fresh. Worth paying for those. As for the main dish. You may have to step out of the comfort zone and try different dishes to experience Raw 34. The outcome, well let’s say a day later we are still talking how good was the food. Spaghetti was fresh and flavors balanced.
Raw 34needs to work on their martinis. We asked for a dirty martini w Tito’s and for a Pom w grey goose. Not the best experience, would not get them again.
Service was great and relaxed. Will consider coming back but not for martinis.
Last, we were sitting by the big window and the air from the AC bounce right from the glass and towards the tables. This made it a bit uncomfortable to the point of having to wear our coats through dinner.
Food was delicious, great service.
First time to the Portsmouth location, been to Boston 34 a few times.
Party of four for dinner...mostly for the oysters and wine. Quality, presentation and selection of oysters were outstanding...$3 each. Fish and chips, lobster roll and sides were all excellent.
Selection of beer was limited, but very good. Five Vintner's Zinfandel was delicious, we had a second bottle. The Zin was one of the more affordable bottles on the wine list, but not a bargain.
Our meal was $350...a bit steep for N.H.
The main dining area had two levels. The kitchen level had high top tables, the lower level with outdoor industrial, patio-like furniture inside (where we sat). Would have preferred a upper level table, but not a big deal.
Very good wait staff service. Never had to ask for anything.
Don't think we'll go back to Row 34. There was nothing wrong with our meal, but are so many great restaurants in the area, which aren't overpriced, that are worth a shot.
Out of town visitors enjoyed a great meal.
Excellent food and service just wasn’t a fan of the club music being played while I eat. I’d go back even with the music....
Each ingredient is well prepared. There are no shortcuts. Excellently detailed food and service.
The music was too loud for a conversation. The light too dim to read the menu. Several guests had to use their cell phone read the menu. I did not the selections on the menu. Halibut was not great and the vegetables with it were overcooked. Very odd wine menu.
Incredibly fresh oysters. The New England clam chowder was outstanding. Good wine list. Overall 5 stars well deserved.
Great-will definitely return
Molly our server was fantastic. Great food, hostess, bartenders etc. everyone great and food was phenomenal. Who cares about the noise level!
Superb food! So fresh and beautifully prepared. Unreal fish and chips, big oyster menu, Very attentive staff and managers. Drinks are good pours and fantastic. No comparison to other seafood spots in radius of an hour. Noise level too loud!! So we will go for lunch (we are old)Speakers are over every table and music loud. Very big beer list which was impressive
Great modern in Portsmouth
The service, oysters, and entrees were great! Would definitely visit again.
Food & drink selection excellent, decently priced for Portsmouth. Waitperson was attentive and helpful.
Was looking for some fresh seafood, not fried, with a touch of s good chef with a sauce ...... found it here.
Waiter was extremely good .... knowledgeable, accommodating, and just a good guy.
Food is outstanding - oyster selection is second to none, not many places that you can go that have 7-8 varieties.
Shrimp spaghetti is unreal...highly recommend.
Finished the the butterscotch pudding, also delicious.
Beer selection is just as impressive as the food.
My wife said this is the best meal she’s had in a long while, and we go out a lot. (She had the salmon).
Beginning to end outstanding! Fresh ingredients and imaginative dishes! Good selection of beers/cocktails. Oysters spot on, grilled salmon as good as I’ve had, grilled corn side dish special! Butterscotch pudding for dessert superb!
I enjoyed the oyster lettuce cups, but not the salmon burger. It had too much breading in it.
Service and ambiance was a plus, but the food was thoroughly disappointing. Oysters and shrimp cocktail were good and worth the menu price, but the $32 steak was a complete ripoff. It tasted like a $4 Walmart steak—it was both poorly cooked and had no flavor. If you’re looking for drinks and maybe light seafood as an appetizer you’ll be fine, but if you’re looking for a meal then look elsewhere.
First the space. Poorly lit and the music was club like. Basically it was too dark for most people at 8pm to read their bills and the music was more appropriate for a bar, not a restaurant with $24+ entrees. The food was uninspiring. Great raw bar, but that was about it. Actually service was just fine. Won’t be going back.
Amazing oysters and seafood tower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
