Roux’s signature cuisine has become the darling of regional food aficionados, and for good reason. The highly approachable menu blends comfortable, new Southern classics with the iconic Fresh Creole and Cajun dishes of Louisiana. Think new adaptations of familiar favorites like Crab Beignets and Seafood Gumbo sharing a table with Andouille Crusted Wahoo, Southern Fried Chicken and Bread Pudding with Bourbon Butterscotch Sauce.

The ambience, mimosas, and service. The staff is very friendly, professional, and accommodating.
THE FOOD! This is my third time at brunch and every entree I order always seem like a great idea until the food arrives. This time I had the shrimp and grits that was recommended by our waitress. IT WAS BLAND AND AWFUL. It was not Cajun. The grits was bland and the andouille gravy on the shrimp was also bland. Again, this was clearly not Cajun! We had to ask for Cajun seasoning which by the way tasted like paprika and Mrs. Dash, salt, and pepper. With all that seasoning I did at the table, I still couldn’t eat my entree. I also had the $1 oysters on the half shell and charbroiled. Great price but they were so small, I would prefer to spend more to get better quality oysters. I was again so disappointed. Three strikes and I am done. I will never eat here again.
My advice to keep this business relevant: GET A NEW CHEF WHO UNDERSTANDS CAJUN CUISINE. Up the price of the oysters and get better oysters. Find out who supplied CW Gin Joint Oysters, for $2 they were really big.
A wonderful eating experience, the restaurant was out of my wife's choice but they brought her another choice at no charge. Service was fabulous, some of the best Jambalaya I have ever had.
Love this restaurant. Great food and ambiance. Will definitely return!
Great service. Great brunch. Fun atmosphere for family!
Overall, brunch was just okay. Some of our food was cold and lacked flavor. Definitely not the Roux we were used to. The addition of the bottomless mimosas was a plus. We were able to change our orders and were much happier with our second choice.
Thank you for the feedback!
It’s a cool place. A little quiet and the music isn’t all that, but the food was okay.
We each ordered wine, a cup of soup and entree, and shared a beignet dessert. They were out of the wine my husband ordered, our entire came out quickly which we sent back because we hadn't been served our soup. The entree came out quickly and was not very hot as it should have been. The food was very good but we felt rushed. All the other tables that were there before us were paced and not rushed.
Absolutely excellent meal. Music was fantastic and service was excellent. Highly recommend
Great service and food!
The place was cute, a nice place for drinks with friends. The service was great, our server was always there making sure we liked our food and kept the drinks flowing. The food was pretty good, just felt it was too pricey for the value. I had snapper and it was plated beautifully but the flavor was just ok. Our beignets were burned. We arrived 2 hours before close and they were out of a lot of the dishes we requested. Overall it was a good experience.
Hostess was openly unfriendly borderline hostile, for no reason. Etouffee came with literally zero crawfish pieces. Waitress was good, more friendly and trying harder but overworked and could have been more attentive (no water refills at all), and she did correct the etouffee problem, returning it for a dish with some actual fish in it. The food itself tasted very good, once sorted out.
Food was awesome once it arrived. Felt wait time for food was long. And service in general.
Hi. Thanks for this candid feedback. We have new management in the store and are striving to improve the speed of service.
My daughter and I use to love this restaurant. She and I brunch every Sunday and generally Roux was always one of them. Unfortunately, the last several times that we’ve come the food was below the expectation and the service was more apologizing than correcting the issues. I always leave a tip of 20% or more despite of, but today was the day she and I both decided that we won’t be back. It’s sad because this use to be one of our favorite places to go eat brunch and prepare for our week ahead.
I don't get all the bad to mediocre reviews lately...maybe it's a monkey see, monkey do kind of thing? Because my husband and I finally had a good brunch here in Tampa. We've tried places people recommended to us, some with 4.5 stars or more and all we can think is...seriously? This place lived up to it's better scores. Good food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. All for under $50 with tip. Will definitely recommend it to friends. Finally, a little class. It's the only 'keeper' so far.
Booked with great anticipation for a great dinner... turned out mediocre at best. The chargrilled oysters were the highlight of our night. Downhill from there. First, our petite salad was dry and warm... yuck. Their grouper dish was absolutely flavorless. The wahoo dish had more flavor, but was over cooked and served on top of a bland pile of grits. The filet was actually very good, especially the Worcestershire/chili reduction. . Finished with a shared below average bread pudding.
Should have realized something was amiss when there were only 11 guests in the entire dining room at 7:30.
Won’t be going back.
Prior experiences were better than this visit. The cornbread, which is usually fantastic, was overcooked and hard around the edges. It seemed I could smell a burnt smell. The waiter did not check on us without my calling for him. He also did not remember my serving request, and despite my stating on my reservation, no one wished us a happy 39th anniversary.
Not worth a 30 minute drive. I would recommend it to someone who lives in South Tampa.
Taste of food fair and lukewarm!
The food is excellent if you like Cajun--it is a bit spicy so be warned! Prices are moderate, but we've seen much higher. This was our second visit there. We'll be back!
For the most part, our experience was great! The entrees were delicious! On the other hand, we ordered the Alligator bites as an appetizer and it was clear the frying oil needed to be changed. We would consider going back to this restaurant in the future!
Unfortunately the food doesn't match the decor and vibe of the place. Overall the food was undercooked and under seasoned, the chef needs a refresher course on Cajun cuisine.
We were happy with our dining experience overall. The one issue was the quarter potatoes were undercooked.
certainly...just do not go at 2pm as they are a bit slower at that time on a Sunday
Roux is the place to go if you want freshly prepared seafood. Both the snapper and grouper were fantastic!
The asparagus, however, was not up to par- very "woody" and definitely not properly prepared. Quite a surprise from this restaurant. Our server was wonderful, too.
We had family visiting from out of town and wanted to try something new. Every dish was delicious our waitress Darlene was fabulous and the ambiance was perfect!! We will be back!!
This was my first visit to Roux Tampa. It was just as my friends said it would be. I am planning my next visit.
The place is nice. Food is uniquely Creole and just was a good experience. The bread pudding a la mode was awesome
First time eating at Roux. Food was great but service not good. Brought wrong food item twice. Wine took 15 minutes. Waited 10 minutes for creamer for coffee. Service seemed disjointed Disappointing
Our first visit and we'll definitely be back again. Food was great and in spite of how busy it was, service was good too!
We had friends in from out of town. I had a reservation. We got seated and then basically forgot about. No greeting or acknowledging that we were there. We finally had to tell the hostess no one had stopped by our table. After we finally got a server all was well.
I went to Roux for my birthday with a few friends. We made a reservation and didn’t have to wait at all to be seated. Our server Kristin was super sweet and attentive, and the meal was fantastic. I’ll be back!
Delicious and great customer service
We used to love going to Roux but the last 2 meals that we have had there have been terrible! We gave it approximately a year hiatus and foolishly decided to give it another chance bc we live 2 blocks from there. The ribeye could have been the worst steak that I have ever had! We wanted Roux to be better bc it is a local place in our neighborhood but sadly we will not be returning! Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere!
Food was great, the chef is incredible!!!
There was only 1 waiter & 1 bus boy for the whole place. The food was interesting & good. The service was slow.
left New Orleans two weeks ago and was missing the food. Thought we would try Roux and was not disappointed. WE went for the brunch. Gumbo and crawfish etouffee were great and their spin corn bread was very interesting and tasteful. We will be back for dinner I will try their duck witch sounds good.
Third time here and while the vibe is amazing and the food is pretty great it’s all over priced for what it is. Even the happy hour specials (they are what the food should normally cost).
Me and my wife looked forward to trying this place so what better time than our anniversary. The look and feel of the place was great, service was good. The char grilled oysters are amazing and so is the ribeye. Everything was going well until a large group of people came in very loud, cussing, belligerent, no regard to anyone in the restaurant. No attempt was made to be mindful of the other guests from the staff so we finished out meal and left. Overall the food was fair to good but the price is a tad high.
Great food as usual.. wish you served Datz Bloody Mary the one at brunch was meh
Great vibe - We'd love a location in Downtown St. Pete!
Service was very slow and subpar. Food was just okay but not worth the price.
