Roux’s signature cuisine has become the darling of regional food aficionados, and for good reason. The highly approachable menu blends comfortable, new Southern classics with the iconic Fresh Creole and Cajun dishes of Louisiana. Think new adaptations of familiar favorites like Crab Beignets and Seafood Gumbo sharing a table with Andouille Crusted Wahoo, Southern Fried Chicken and Bread Pudding with Bourbon Butterscotch Sauce.

The restaurant was closed when we arrived and had been since Dec 31. There was no notification from Open Table about the closure. In fact, I received multiple confirmation emails and texts. I’m extremely disappointed that I wasn’t contacted ahead of time as I was hosting out of town customers.
Best brunch food , southern comfort at its best, chargrills oysters so good!
This must be under new ownership or management and it’s not as good as it was in the past.
Food and service were great as always. We love the oysters.
Roux was great! Service was consistent; server was great with our 2 yr old son! You have to leave room for the bread pudding - thank me later!
Best Happy Hour in the bay! $1 oysters from 2-5! Delicious!
Reservation at 12pm for my bday. Finally seated at 1:30pm due to the restaurant overbooking my table. Waited 28 minutes for a Bloody Mary once we sat. Continuously waited on mimosas which were always room temperature. Waitress unapologetic. Hostess either for that matter. Have had three great experiences there. Will not return due to how myself and my party was treated on my own bday. It’s a shame; the food and vibe is great. Hire better and more efficient help please.
Absolutely loved Roux. Only thing that kept me from giving them a 5 star review was the wait time for food. I’ve never waited that long in my life for just an appetizer, let a lone drinks and food.
Food is good but lacks seasoning and flavor. It’s on the cusp of being awesome but just not good enough to justify a return visit when there are so many great restaurants in S. Tampa. Atmosphere is nice but service has much to be desired. The staff was more interested in closing duties than taking care of the customer that were still there at 9:30pm on a Saturday...and it wasn’t busy at all. Our server greeted us after 10 minutes by saying “I didn’t even see you. They haven’t sat this table in an hour so I didn’t think to look.” 😳 She never checked on us once she delivered the food so basically service was crap which made the entire experience sub par. Not interested in returning.
ROUX HAS QUICKLY BECOME ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS! COZY, THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING AND GREAT DRINKS TO CHOOSE FROM. NOT AS LOUD AS OTHER SOUTH TAMPA RESTAURANTS - YOU CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY YOUR CONVO!
Great environment for a date or small get together.
Food was good. However there was a large party in the back and there was not enough service staff. We stood at the front check-in for 10 minutes before anybody even recognized I was there then everything was just slow. Not sure what happened but they were definitely understaffed
Disappointed that wasnt told till right before getting order there were no collars greens, there geeens/vegetable list for replacement was lacking.
There was only us and maybe 2 other tables, and honestly service was slow. We asked for a dip because it wasnt on green tomatoes, by time it was delivered we were starving and ate without, personally I would've went to kitchen and had it back in seconds. The drinks and desserts were amazing. Best cheesecake ever.
Great Cajun flavors and drinks! Service was excellent and loved the newer menu..,.. hadn’t been there for several months!!
Great food and great service
Delicious food and friendly staff. Love this place!
Service was horrendous— incredibly slow and inattentive. Food was only ok. The BLT special sandwich on the menu was a huge disappointment, and I thought it would be impossible to ruin a BLT.
Atmosphere, service, and food, were all fantastic. I ordered the snapper, it was delicious however it was also $26.00. $26.00 for ONE filet. Nothing came with the filet except 3 pieces of asparagus. Had to hit McDonald's on the way home from dinner for the fill up.
Roux is one of my favorite places to dine. The food is always yummy and the service usually good. On this most recent visit, our server seemed to have too many tables to take care of, but he still did a good job. For jambalaya is always a favorite.
Crab dip is amazing
Great martini with tiny ice chips floating on top! Made it amazing! Great service, i ordered a wine towards end of dinner, it took a long time to come out to point I almost canceled order. She brought it out and without me saying anything she said she was taking off the bill since it took so long. I told her she didn’t have to do that but she insisted. I thought that was very nice.
All of us loved our food, the roasted oysters for an appetizer were delicious and lobster bisque a must. I had the Gumbo, it was just ok to me. It was a little blan for my liking but overall it was good.
I would for sure return to Roux
Overall a great experience. Get the bread pudding!
Nicole was a friendly and knowledgeable server. We relied on her recommendations quite a bit.
Food and ambiance was great.
They had several issues today. The air condition was out so it was warm in the restaurant which impacted some of the food options such as Beignets (they were out) and frozen drinks( issues with keeping them frozen due to the electrical problems.) I think out of good will they should have discounted everyone's check, perhaps 10 or 15%. The food entrees were very good and the waitress was very efficient given the circumstances.
Made my occasional very special, complimentary champagne, vegan food, and a romantic atmosphere. I will definitely come back soon when I visit Tampa and want to have dinner.
The fried tomatoes were fantastic :)
The ambience, mimosas, and service. The staff is very friendly, professional, and accommodating.
THE FOOD! This is my third time at brunch and every entree I order always seem like a great idea until the food arrives. This time I had the shrimp and grits that was recommended by our waitress. IT WAS BLAND AND AWFUL. It was not Cajun. The grits was bland and the andouille gravy on the shrimp was also bland. Again, this was clearly not Cajun! We had to ask for Cajun seasoning which by the way tasted like paprika and Mrs. Dash, salt, and pepper. With all that seasoning I did at the table, I still couldn’t eat my entree. I also had the $1 oysters on the half shell and charbroiled. Great price but they were so small, I would prefer to spend more to get better quality oysters. I was again so disappointed. Three strikes and I am done. I will never eat here again.
My advice to keep this business relevant: GET A NEW CHEF WHO UNDERSTANDS CAJUN CUISINE. Up the price of the oysters and get better oysters. Find out who supplied CW Gin Joint Oysters, for $2 they were really big.
Excellent food excellent ambiance.
A wonderful eating experience, the restaurant was out of my wife's choice but they brought her another choice at no charge. Service was fabulous, some of the best Jambalaya I have ever had.
Love this restaurant. Great food and ambiance. Will definitely return!
Great service. Great brunch. Fun atmosphere for family!
Overall, brunch was just okay. Some of our food was cold and lacked flavor. Definitely not the Roux we were used to. The addition of the bottomless mimosas was a plus. We were able to change our orders and were much happier with our second choice.
Thank you for the feedback!
It’s a cool place. A little quiet and the music isn’t all that, but the food was okay.
We each ordered wine, a cup of soup and entree, and shared a beignet dessert. They were out of the wine my husband ordered, our entire came out quickly which we sent back because we hadn't been served our soup. The entree came out quickly and was not very hot as it should have been. The food was very good but we felt rushed. All the other tables that were there before us were paced and not rushed.
Absolutely excellent meal. Music was fantastic and service was excellent. Highly recommend
Great service and food!
The place was cute, a nice place for drinks with friends. The service was great, our server was always there making sure we liked our food and kept the drinks flowing. The food was pretty good, just felt it was too pricey for the value. I had snapper and it was plated beautifully but the flavor was just ok. Our beignets were burned. We arrived 2 hours before close and they were out of a lot of the dishes we requested. Overall it was a good experience.
Hostess was openly unfriendly borderline hostile, for no reason. Etouffee came with literally zero crawfish pieces. Waitress was good, more friendly and trying harder but overworked and could have been more attentive (no water refills at all), and she did correct the etouffee problem, returning it for a dish with some actual fish in it. The food itself tasted very good, once sorted out.
Food was awesome once it arrived. Felt wait time for food was long. And service in general.
Hi. Thanks for this candid feedback. We have new management in the store and are striving to improve the speed of service.
My daughter and I use to love this restaurant. She and I brunch every Sunday and generally Roux was always one of them. Unfortunately, the last several times that we’ve come the food was below the expectation and the service was more apologizing than correcting the issues. I always leave a tip of 20% or more despite of, but today was the day she and I both decided that we won’t be back. It’s sad because this use to be one of our favorite places to go eat brunch and prepare for our week ahead.
