Route 66 Smokehouse
Well, for BBQ it's definitely at the bottom of my list, but the bar and beer list are not bad. They have games you can play with friends, that's one way they can draw people in. The service was friendly.
Good time. Would go again. Enjoyable wings. Decent hamburger.
Delicious food. Our waiter was very nice and agreeable. They didn't rush us at all and let us linger at the table. Will return.
We had some really good barbeque, we we were impressed. The street the restaurant is on is unique too...a slice of history in between the impossibly high skyscrapers of the financial district. We felt we were on the set of Gangs of NY!
Incredibly friendly staff, good food. Lots of sports on many TVs, which is great if you’re watching! Not a spot for intimate conversation!
Route 66 was cute! Picked this place for our team lunch and we were pleased with the food however the service was subpar...though we were a big group (10 total), we waited close to 10mins for our drinks (reg beverages) and when one of the party members asked for more sauce, the waitress said she would bring it but never did (and no, the restaurant was not super busy...None the less, the food & music was good but the service should be a bit better...
Overall it was a good dinner. Although I was disappointed that they were out of the one thing I wanted, the beef ribs. The rib eye sandwich and fries was very good and the Frose was fun. We sat outdoors and while the weather was nice, there were way too many people who were smoking and that ruined it a bit for us.
Johnny the manager was awesome
Also the complete wait staff
Food was great
We felt like locals already
Great drinks for happy hour fun lively atmosphere attentive and nice server . Overall great experience and not to mention the delicious barbecue was fantastic !!
As always, the food is very slow to come to the table after ordering, even the appetizers. Wait time is typically 25-30 minutes, which for a lunch break eats up half my hour. Secondly, the service is inconsistent, but can see there's a high turnover of 20 somethings as I never see the same face twice after a month. Otherwise, the food is generally good, which is only reason I'd go back or recommend to friend.
Delicious food. We all tried something different and everyone was happy with their order.
Not crowded at lunch. We were in and out in 1 hour.
Great sounds, very different & light smoke taste (chicken)
It was honestly one of the worst meals I've had. I will eat anything but the amount of salt in the food was unbearable.
The service is awful and the food is not so good. We had to wait more that 1 1/2 hour for our food and the waitress never came with our second round of drinks.
The chicken in the Chicken BBQ sandwich was nicely flavored with a light coating of BBQ sauce, but was dried out, leathery. Might've sent it back, but as a business lunch, we both have limited time. And could one chicken sandwich have been different from another chicken sand? Next time, we will try a different eatery on Stone St.
Had dinner here with a friend. Sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. The brisket sandwich was delicious tender. The fries tasty but a bit soggy, would maybe try the sweet potato fries next time.
horrible service, walked out. not a tourist, do not want to be treated like one.
Brisket and wings both outstanding
This is a gem in NYC's Financial District. It has the atmosphere of a sports bar yet offers upscale food - particularly barbecue. We had the beef ribs and they were the best we've had in years! Give this place a try - you won't be disappointed.
We had a great spot all to ourselves- great food, service and ambiance (:
Our food came out cold. The food was fine but nothing notable; this is a fine pick if you are in the neighborhood and aren't looking for anything special. For those with more flexibility on location/time, look elsewhere.
The food was good .. The drinks seemed very weak.. We spent $450... Every time we wanted the waitress .. We had to hunt her down.. Terrible service
Great food, excellent service
The lamb ribs special today was out of this world, I loved it!
Had the combo platter. Good bbq
Great BBQ place for lunch.
I didn't expect much of a smokehouse brunch but they do it right!
The ambiance was great, food, portions, drinks + service was good especially for the financial district area. Would recommend for lunch, brunch, chill and 1st date spot.
The food was mediocre at best! Too crowded and lunch time and the prices are extremely high for the portion sizes. I won't return!
We had an early dinner so it was very quiet and the service was GREAT! The Fried Green Tomatoes with Jalapeño sliced chips were AWESOME! I had the Slice Brisket which had good flavor but just a little dry, but the anjous juice helped along with the BBQ Sauce. It was pretty good. The beer list was good but not great. I will definitely go back!
I've lived in or near NYC my whole life and never knew Stone Street even existed! Had to go to the Custom House on Bowling Green for some paperwork and went onto Opentable to find a place to eat nearby. Quick walk over to Stone Street which is a little side street gem. Reminds me of parts of Boston and Dublin. Route 66 has a great spot there with dining indoors or out in good weather. Best food is the Black Angus burger (really good) and they have great regular or sweet potato fries. Pulled pork and ribs were good. Grilled chicken sandwich was ho-hum.
Starting out, it was a little disappointing because we could only order from the "brunch menu" the regular menu didn't start until 4:00 p.m. and that was not clear, at least to me, when I looked it up on open table. The food was good, service was ok especially since the place was not very busy. The waiter forgot my beer but did make up for that by not charging me. It was also a little over priced. $14.00 for a burger and then $2.00 extra for each topping. Since we were in NYC and there are so many other restaurants, I would not say I would never go back but there are certainly many other places I would try first.
Nothing all that special
Really had such an incredible meal. The chips and dip are fantastic. The pulled pork and sweet potato fries delicious. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.
The beef ribs are good. Expect saltiness.
Walking on Stone Street you can easily get lost in the wonderful outdoor seating. Don't lose your way as Route 66 has fantastic BBQ ribs (although a bit spicy) I enjoyed every one of them. My friends had the brisket which from my sampling was better than I expected as many other places put too much salt in the cooking. Will definitely return again!
Table for 12 and we were easily accommodated - whole family enjoyed it! Had pulled pork-yum! Grits were soooo good, jalapeño cornbread was served in cast iron own as is the choc chip cookie! Must
Go for anyone near stone street! Our waitress was a darling also!!!
2/3 of the time I've come here, the food is either delayed in getting to my table, or the credit card system goes down, or my server forgets to ask me if I'm ok or need anything. I've now written this place off! Don't waste your time here. So many other good choices on Stone Street, no need to settle for this place.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, but my pork ribs were a bit rubbery and I just didn't care for the spice rub. Pretty spicy and not that Smokey. Probably just personal taste. Other than that, the beer selection was good, service was pleasant and Stone Street is very cool spot to meet and hang out. but the ribs were not fall off the bone tender that day...
