Roti Indian Bistro - San Francisco
Food was so flavorful and fresh! We loved it!
We've eaten here many time. Might be the best Indian cuisine in town.
Food was a bit disappointing, not as good as usual. Very busy Sat. night though; we tend to go mid-week which may be the reason.
Always amazing food and service!
The owner is always nice and accomodating
Excellent Indian food, though a little of the expensive side compared to lesser Indian restaurants. Well worth it for a special occasion.
The best Indian food in San Francisco. It’s refreshing to taste the flavors of the spices. Top quality lamb and chicken.
Everything is always delicious. The whole head of cauliflower is fantastic.
The food is excellent. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you choose. We've had many dishes here, all good. I like the mango lassie too. Genial host. A neighborhood gem.
We tried the seafood in a nice tomato sauce. Nice white fish, calamari, and prawns. Very yummy.
Excellent Indian food with a friendly staff. You’ll be hard pressed to find better Indian food on the city.
Best Indian food in the US.
I’ve been coming here for years and the food is consistently outstanding. Well worth a visit—or a return if you’re already familiar.
Wonderful food, convenient location, good service and very friendly staff. A winning combination for a a great dinner experience for a group of four - thank you!
A favorite neighborhood place. Love the freshness of the food and the warm and welcoming staff
Food is nicely spiced and wait staff friendly and attentive. It is not very noisy so easy to have a normal conversation.
Delicious as always. Warm, friendly atmosphere.
Some food was great and other was really mediocre. Saag gosht wonderful; fried calamari almost uneatable. Space is nice but really noisy so go early before it fills up.
Pleasant early dining with real Indian flavors freshly prepared. Special treatment from the restaurant manager re where to buy Indian food products in the Bay Area (try Berkeley). Will definitely return.
This is our neighborhood Indian restaurant, and while there are better places for Indian cuisine in SF Roti wins with its ambiance and service. We love their vegetable samosas, vindaloos and rotating monthly specials. My only complaint is that rice is not included in an entree order, which seems odd. Who eats chicken vindaloo without rice?
ALWAYS good. We have never had poor service or a bad meal here, over many years. Consistently great.
This place is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the entire Bay Area. I live in Anza Vista and drive 20+ minutes just to go to this particular restaurant. Go...you will not be disappointed.
Excellent food and superb service at Roti for family dinner of 7
Great food and service !
The only issue is that our 3 orders of NaN came after the meal along with another dish.
Excellent Indian cuisine with monthly rotating specials. We love to come here.
The food is excellent. The service extraordinary; personable, attentive, great advise, timely.
Love Roti and will return.
We love trying their monthly specials. Today we had the mushroom and peas, delish! As always, we had the butter chicken and Rogan Josh lamb. Can't wait to have the leftovers.
This place is consistently excellent
We LOVED this place but something has changed. The food doesn’t have the excellent taste it once did. Not worth the money.
Friendly owner, servers
Fresh, beautifully spiced butter chicken and garlic and basil naan
Clean and nicely presented ambience
The best north Indian food in the city! The ingredients are exceedingly fresh and the ambiance is great.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with outstanding Indian food and great service.
Consistently high quality in every way! Roti is one of our top “go to” restaurants. The monthly specials are an especially nice draw. Going back this week for more exquisitely spiced Butternut Squash Soup before month’s end.
Food is always good
This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant especially in October when they offer the incredible cauliflower.
Fantastic Indian food that never disappoints!
To set the scene, my wife and I took our kids to the Science and Natural History museum in San Francisco, similar to the trip my wife and kids did whilst they visited NYC earlier this year.
We spent the day at the museum and then wanted somewhere to eat dinner as driving back to the East Bay through the City on a Saturday night was going to be hectic and time consuming.
We elected to make a reservation at Roti, as it was our go to place when we first moved to San Francisco back in 2011 from Connecticut.
We took our two kids for dinner at 5:30, just before the rush hour traffic of diners. The evening was getting quite chilly, so we wanted some warm comfort food, Pankaj Shah, the proprietor greeted us at reception and we were taken to our table by the window.
The ambience and layout of this restaurant is excellent, cozy yet sophisticated; the kitchen is open format so you can see the chef and cooks strutting their stuff infront of you.
We ordered chicken jalfrezi and paneer sabji, along with butter chicken and saag paneer. the latter two were good, the first two, chicken jalfrezi and paneer were entirely forgettable, watery and with absolutely NO flavor whatsoever.
I was disappointed with the food overall, and wanted to tell Pankaj, however he's a dear old man, and I did not want to hurt his feelings, so I did not say anything.
I would recommend this place as for its ambience and scene, however, coming from an Indian from England, where Indian food is a national obsession, if you want authentic Indian food, look elsewhere. Sorry Pankaj, this place is now a miss, and we will now be stopping off at our go-to spot in Lafayette on our way home on the East Bay.
The murgh makhani (butter chicken) is out of this world! Get the goat cheese naan.
The monthly specials are always great.
Roti has some of the best Indian Food in this area, consequently it's a good idea to have a reservation or you may get turned away or have a long wait. The staff is friendly and efficient, the food choices extensive and the environment fun but not too loud. There are also very good specials available on any given day. The Naan is nicely cooked and don't forget the raita and Mango Chutney for toppings.
