Roti Chai houses both a casual canteen-style ground floor Street Kitchen and a more formal lower ground Dining Room, each with their own dedicated kitchen. The menus feature contemporary dishes using traditional cooking techniques from across the Indian sub-continent.
We are now taking bookings in our Street Kitchen from the 17th May onwards, for parties of up to 6. Walk-ins will still be welcome, subject to availability.
A Collection & Delivery service is also offered for guests who would prefer to order food to take out.
The Dining Room will remain closed for now.
It goes without saying that the health and safety of our guests and team is our top priority, so we have introduced new Covid Secure measures to allow you to dine with confidence.

Love it at roti chai always consistent with greet food and service
Amazing food and good value too! It was a bit crowded but that was expected, it was the last night before tier 3 restrictions.
We loved the food and the service. One suggestion would be to offer better seating experience. Struggling a lot with coats and bags and to even accommodate my order on the table while there were more specious tables available for same number of people. So made me a bit sad to see that we weren’t given an option to choose.
Decent place, decent price for central. Nice food overall
Usual excellence of service and quality of food. Quiet post lockdown.
Delicious, particularly the Jackfruit Biryani and the Bhel Puri
Brilliant and delicious food. Great service.
We had a great time at Roti Chai. The chaat was amazing. We weren't massive fans of the chicken lollipops they were way overdone.
But lovely place and the food is fantastic.
Food is reasonably good but pace of service was rushed (mains served whilst we were still eating the starters). Overpriced.
The quality of food has really gone downhill. The chicken on the wings was tough, there was no tamarind sauce on the papri chaat. There papri chaat was smaller in size too.
Quality of food has declined with almost similar spices in all different dishes and high on oil.The fragrance found in food is missing.
A very good all-round experience. I especially liked the fish curry on the set menu. We are looking forward to visiting this restaurant again.
Trip to London with hubby. We really enjoyed the food
Food is unbeatable here!
Service is a little serious ( tiny bit of humour would help)
Every thing was good .. the food was excellent!
nice experience 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Beat Indian restaurant in London!
I book a table from the application, but when I arrived they told me no reservation under my name!!!
I really liked it 👌🏼 the location is in the heart of London
Best Indian restaurant ever
Excellent dining location. This is not your local Indian establishment, this is beautifully made food, carefully thought out, deftly executed, perfectly balanced in flavour. I had the lamb, which was tender and lightly spiced. The orange zest naan was a revelation. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Always very good - both upstairs and downstairs. the service, food and atmosphere are always very good, making us eager to return.
the downstairs full restaurant has great ambiance, good service and a really creative take on classic Indian food. we had a great meal!
Once I sat down the service was absolutely wonderful. However I really want to bring to your attention the attitude of one waitress who greeted me at the door. When she said my reservation was for 6, I simply corrected her and stated that it was in fact for 6.30 and that I had the email and notification on Open Table to prove the sale. She was extremely rude and stand off-ish and even walked away when I had not even finished my sentence. Absolutely put off by get service however the service downstairs was much better and enjoyable.
I do however respectfully request that you check the waitresses greeting customers at the main desk because if I had not had a better experience downstairs I can assure you this review would have been worse and I would be writing about it on my social media.
Excellent quality Indian food. Service was attentive but not overly so. This first visit was a delight.
Great place. Casual
Excellent food every time. It's the only restaurant where I choose something new on the menu every time because everything is consistently good.
The seasonal pav bhaji was smelly and inauthentic but the other food and chai are good. The service was slow but the staff is super friendly.
You simply have to go. The food and also cocktails were amazing. Service could definitely be better but the cuisine made up for it.
Wonderful meal, great wine list, excellent service can’t wait to go back
amazing food, happy to serve staff.
The food here is outstanding! Whilst it might not be authentic Indian food, the flavours are exceptional. Definite highlight of our visit to London
Great food. More vegan options would be good.
Flovorfull. Lamb was nice
Amazing food and some of the best service I have had in London - better than much more upscale restaurants in London. Our table was slightly delayed and the bartender took it upon himself to offer our party free drinks while we waited. Lovely waiter at the table as well who gave us great suggestions on the menu. Super recommended and will be back!
Great good. Creative twist that makes it more interesting. Love it there and will definitely be going back.
The food was simply delicious! The lamb shank and Malabar shrimp were our favorite dishes. I'll recommend it to all my friends.
The food didnt taste good, lacked flavour! Ordered paneer and it didnt even taste like paneer. When a restaurant has a few dishes on the menu they are supposed to be exceptional dishes of high quality but this was a let down! The street kitchen food is a 1000 times better upstairs!
Best butter chicken I tried in London, 100% recommend.
Food is well flavoured however not quite spicy enough for me. In saying that the chilli chutney does the trick. The food is well worth the price, and most of the staff were really lovely and happy to answer any questions we had. I did however find the staff serving drinks a little slow, and in some instances a little rude when I ordering another bottle for the table. Otherwise, couldn't fault it.
