We are back at Rosti for the second time in less than a week, so that tells you a lot. This time we took other friends who were happy to find this neighborhood gem. We enjoyed the Tuscan grilled salmon, recommended by my hubby, and one friend had the Branzino, which is served as a whole fish, head and all. The portions are generous and I especially enjoyed the veggie sides -- I chose mushrooms and brussels sprouts, both seasoned lightly and not overcooked. The place was full and loud on a Friday night, but that's to be expected. All in all, it was another good experience.

Rosti is a solid "very good." The service started out slow, but got much better as the crowd thinned a bit. The place is a good family spot, so there were lots of groups when we arrived. The portions are generous -- my grilled eggplant parmesan with two sides made two meals for me. My hungry husband polished off the salmon prepared Tuscan-style and enjoyed every bite. Our friend ordered a simple pasta and enjoyed that as well. There seems to be something for everyone in the large, impressive menu that also features vegan options.

Rosti has become one of my favorite places to eat...been here 3x in the last month. The food is great, service is very good, and I have not had any complaint yet, so far. I made a reservation for my bday for 15 people and even though my party had to wait for a few mins before we were seated (the place was packed at that time and they had to scramble and get our tables together), the wait wasn’t a big deal. They were very accommodating, as well, because as it turned out, 2 more people showed up for my party and they were able to add a couple more seating to my reservations without making it into an issue.

Do NOT order a “half” salad. It is the size of a dinner salad, or smaller. It costs about $14 for a half salad, and $17 for a whole salad. It doesn’t make sense to order the half size. For three bucks more, order the full size and take whatever is left home with you.

We had two tables of 5 (10 total in our party) and we sat for almost 20 mins before anyone even took a basic drink order and brought some bread. We finally had to pull a server and ask who was covering our section.
Food when ultimately arrives was good.
Maybe just a bad night but they were fully staffed

Restaurant was crowded, service was slow, and food was very poor. Chicken was rubber and had no taste. Pasta was undercooked, calamari was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Service was so bad we almost left. We won’t be back. Too many good places to go.

Met our kids for a late holiday lunch and the place was surprisingly quiet, but did fill up as we were leaving. Food is mostly good and generous. My husband especially enjoyed a chicken parm dish and our daughters thought the meatballs and spaghetti were okay but routine. I ordered the ahi salad and while it had a lot of ahi, there was almost no taste to any of it. I took home the leftovers and doctored it up with a ginger dressing and some wasabi, which definitely helped.

The staff is friendly and welcoming and the place is charming. We'll be back to try other menu items in the future.

We had a family dinner and had excellent food and excellent service from Juan. A nice neighborhood family owned place. Nothing fancy. Just good food and good service. If you value food over ambiance, like we do, this is your place !

The food was good. The waitress was very pleasant. The restaurant was warm and inviting. It was a little too loud in there and the prices were kind of on the high side. I would go back and recommend it to others

OUTSTANDING! Feels like a family owned, local jewel. Excellent food, good & friendly service, and busy energetic environment. The gnocchi are a must try, and the turkey meatballs were excellent. We will definitely come back to this special place when we return to Calabasas.

The people that worked there were really nice, so I hate to say this, but the food was not good. I ordered the Risotto with blackened chicken. The portion was HUGE, and it came with a big icky mass of melted mozzerella cheese on top. The risotto was not firm or flavorful, the blackened chicken was neither blackend or flavorful, and overall the dish was not worth eating - it was just...not good. This was like a mass produced meal you would get at a cheap Italian strip mall joint. I mean, they are in a strip mall but it's Calabasas!! ;-) Honestly, I was a little wary when I first saw the huge menu - it's like 10 pages. I don't think I've ever had quality food when a restaurant has an enormous menu, even when it's Italian and a very few ingredients can make many different dishes. Not good to try and be all things to all people. Do a few things really well, and people will come back.

My friend had the Arrabbiata -his was unremarkable as well, but not as badly created as mine.
When the server asked how my meal was, I told her honestly it was not good. The manager came over, comped half the meal. They were really nice about it. If their food was as good as the staff I would go back. Alas, I cannot.

We had not been in for several years and was very pleasantly surprised by the wide selection, excellent and cordial service, and generous portions. We enjoyed the pastas and salads which were fresh and served at appropriate temperatures. We will be back!

Must have the special Pear and Gorgonzola salad if they still are featuring it. Also the Mateo panni. Fabulous sandwich that is always on the menu. Sitting outside is very nice.

We will definitely stop by for lunch again. I do wish they served wine and beer. Too bad.

We were warmly greeted and told to chose a table of our choice on the patio. Our dog was with us and they brought a bowl of water for her as well as water and bread for us. We shared a wonderful pear and chicken salad with a delicious balsamic dressing. It was so generous that we did not need to order anything else. Coffee was fresh and delicious. The servers and busboys were all friendly, professional and efficient. It was a perfect lunch.

We were warmly greeted, were presented with the specials and menu. As soon as we were seated, bread was brought to the table and our drink order was taken right away.

Our food came out quickly. Our Rigatoni Ragu had been split for us, without our asking and two extra plates were brought out for the pizza.
We really enjoyed the rigatoni; the noodle was al dente and the beef sauce was well flavored. While the bbq chicken pizza was good, it was a little dry; we’ll try a different pizza the next time.

As more people arrived, the noise level jumped up considerably. Good thing we had made reservations for an earlier time. Next time, we’ll opt for outdoor seating instead; it was much quieter outside in the patio area.

At the beginning, service was great. As the restaurant filled, it took a while before someone returned to our table, to box up our leftovers and to pay the bill. It seemed as if they didn’t have enough wait staff coverage.

Great Italian restaurant located in Calabassas. Ambiance is casual. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. We chose to eat outside in their patio. Beautiful weather and heat lamps if it gets a bit chilly. They have an extensive menu ranging from salads, pizzas, pastas, chicken.... you will definitely find something for everyone. Service is friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely be back! Bon apetito!
