Beautiful venue and service was good, but did not enjoy my meal as much. My dish was bland and nothing special.
Enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet. Included all of the traditional foods with nice dessert selection and cheese. Bloody Mary cocktail station and mimosa options were welcome add-ons. A lovely meal.
The food was very good and plenty of it. Nicely presented. Friendly service. Nice view of the River. Wish there would have been more customers as there was only one other table occupied ( weekday lunch). One annoyance is the valet parking. You have to surrender your keys for the car to be parked literally next to the front door of the restaurant.
The restaurant deserves more customers.
It was for breakfast... service was eh but not a big deal as it’s just breakfast. I was looking forward to the food as I had enjoyed it there previously. Unfortunately they changed the avocado toast and it missed the mark for me with two sauces drizzled all over it. Sauces overpowered it and made it heavy.
We had a family dinner of 10 that was great. Our waitress, Francesca, did a wonderful job.
We were disappointed in the limited menu selection, delayed service and unimpressive bay shrimp salad.
We were surprised at the limited ‘brunch ‘ menu options.... first time there... service, food quality was very good... river view, pathway was in need of cleaning, attention...
Beautiful view of the river from our table, very friendly and helpful bartender and servers. Thank you!
Two of us shared the beet salad, tuna tartare and roasted asparagus. They were all excellent and we will definitely be back.
Coffee was served tepid, as was the food. Service was meh. My biggest issue was the 20% service charge that was tacked on. Make sure you look over your bill-I feel like that should be disclosed verbally. Definitely not written anywhere. Emailed the restaurant to share my experience and never heard back. Won’t be back-
1, and 2 was GREAT 3rd time I wasn't impressed. Sad how one person can make it go south. I believe it was the new bartender (dark complex guy) First: He didn't find our reservation, no biggie, 2: I told we made reservations to go outside. He told me they don't make reservations for outdoors, I said we made clear in our reservation we wanted to seat outside (The view was who brought us to the restaurant) He said they usually grant those. His attitude was just off I asked if he could go check for us that we walnut mind waiting. (I shouldn't have to ask) He made me feel as I was asking too much. Then went outside and talked to the waitress outdoors and moved some chairs and boom there was a table for 5. Told us to follow him but he was serving another table at the same time. So we went straight to our table. Left us there for 30 minutes no water no menus. We were about to leave when my husband went to ask if there was service available for us or we should look for it somewhere. The waitress looked at each other puzzled as no one knew anything. She passed us a ton of times and I guess we were invisible... Anyways not going back.
I really enjoyed the outdoor patio at Rosswood. I like the seasonal menu with lots of local ingredients.
I'll be back. I had lunch but I want to check out their dinner too.
Our service was fantastic and so was the food! We would totally go back any day!
The restaurant itself was too cold with the AC going. Staff were excellent. Great customer service, but the food lacked flavor. I had never had burrata with shaved carrots and sliced cucumbers before and it didn't taste like they go together. Husband said the salmon was bland.
We really enjoyed sitting near the river on the patio. The food was great and the waitress amazing! It all made for a wonderful date night!
Everyone was very nice, and when we were there and sat inside there was almost no one inside so it was very quiet, however the service was VERY slow. One of the dishes was GREAT, but the rest were very so-so. The Ahi Tartare was not very flavorful, and the crackers that came with it were too salty. The Burrata was tasteless... it really needed some balsamic vinegar, which we asked for but they could not find even though one item on the menu has a "balsamic reduction." The "Crispy Potatoes" sound like fries, but they are full-sized small white potatoes, with something on the outside but nothing to put on the inside, not even salt on the table. The side dish of Brussel Sprouts was awesome, no complaints there. One person had the salmon and it was ok. The dessert selection was not very interesting.
Great location and view, however, the food is sub-par. Kitchen having trouble with eggs and had to be sent back. Had few selections and most were spiced too much to order (a negative with avocado toast selection). They do have an old time favorite, the ricotta pancakes. One waitresses incessant clicking on the oder computer with her long nails drove us all crazy. Too bad, a lovely spot.
The location - gorgeous. But couldn’t sit on deck, primary reason we came here because of wasps. Inside no one else was there. Very great service. Very poor food. Very.
Valet always a perk!!
Service and food need improvement.
One of the few good restaurants with a water view. This is an excellent restaurant for a special dinner out, brunch (I've done Mother's day here 2x) and it is particularly great during find weather when the deck is comfortable. We had an excellent recent visit for brunch. Beautiful day on the deck, an excellent server who went out of her way to help us. And the food was terrific. Gushing review? Yes! Get to Rosswood - you won't regret it.
Staff, ambience and food were good. Coffee service was slow and espresso and lattes were mediocre.
It was our 9th wedding anniversary and it was a beautiful warm sunny day. My husband and I wanted someplace with a pretty outdoor area by the river. This place was perfect! We started with the cheese board which was amazing! I had the salmon and my husband had the steak, we were both very pleased with our selections.
The service was great and all around experience was perfect.
We’ll definitely be back
Every course was excellent- really good ingredients.
We like Rosswood but must have hit it on a bad day. It was Father's Day - but there was NOT a huge crowd. We had 11 a.m. reservations and were told - in a very friendly fashion - on arrival that there would be about a 15 minute wait, even though many tables were open. It looked like there was a staffing shortage and they were trying hard to cope.
So we sat at the bar and after awhile a bartender showed up, he took our order but then made drinks for a server before he got to us.
Soon we were at a table, but there was some confusion about who was to be the server. At the bar, I fetched my own napkin and at the table fetched my own salt. When I was finished and my wife had a few bites left, the server said she'd pick up both plates at once because "it saves me a trip." Say what?
We both had eggs benedict, which were excellent.
Will we go back? Sure. I understand one off-day. Another and we'll rethink that.
The menu (we arrived for brunch) was small but all of the items we ordered were beautifully plated with amazing flavors!! The food is worth it. We were lucky enough to have a gorgeous day and sat on the patio overlooking the river, which was lovely. Our server did get our order right but seemed very new to the service industry and had to go to the kitchen twice for menu questions (again, small menu). It was also disappointing that the pancake we ordered for our young daughter arrived a good five minutes after everyone else’s food but we did appreciate that they allowed an order for just the pancake and not a full breakfast plate. The lack of cleanliness in the restrooms was unnerving and hopefully gets attention soon. When you finish your meal you can step off the patio onto a lovely river walk. I would recommend a visit, despite the negatives, as the food and the patio make it worth a visit!
Monday was a slow night for customers. We didn't try to overlap with a happy hour, just out for a dinner. Window seats were offered and accepted. Great view, good service and our entrees were delightful. Recommend
Limited menu, hard keep food fresh
We walked and ended up going Antinias
Excelent food, great service, and a beautiful view.
Service was slow. Some food was over salted, some was under-seasoned, so menu is pretty much a crap-shoot. The patio outside was nice, but I probably won’t ever go back.
We were visiting for their Mother's Day buffet brunch, so this review is specific to when you are not presented a menu during your visit. There was no sign as to what prices would be - not on the website, not posted inside the restaurant, not available until you receive the check. The service was mediocre at best, so when there was a $40 service fee tacked on to the $45/each buffet plate we were floored. The food was FAR from being worth $45, and the service was FAR from being worth $40. I understand giving your staff a livable wage, but be transparent with your customers! If I had known, I wouldn't have made our reservation.
I was really disappointed by this place! We went there for Mother’s Day and the place was dead. It literally took them forever to get us water and on top of that there was no menus to drinks nor food. Apparently the only option was a buffet brunch which was not stated anywhere not even during the reservations I made. Plus they automatically added a 20% tip for the 4 of us. This also was not stated anywhere. The food was mediocre and was nothing to rave about.
1st place award: service
Great experience overall, very satisfied! For a busy mother’s day!
Food cold, service delayed, no service ware, no water refills. View outstanding.
Gnocchi with beef and pork ragu was very good.
If you’re trying to decide about dessert...the apple one was rather bland
Made reservations for easter lunch 2019 after having a great experience for thanksgiving 2018. The food was sub par. Service was lackluster and gratuity included so felt like there was not motivation on the waiter we had. Good overpriced for quality. They ran out of red velvet dessert and this was a set buffet menu. They put the buffet in front of an area that was a great view and the tables behind a half wal which locked the view. Total oversight for a $55/person meal price. Was disappointed with the choice of entree and 2 kinds of potatoes (really?) and 2 kinds of egg dishes (wow cheap) for a fairly large head price. Location is so lovely. Sad of the placement of the buffet and quality of food for the price.
Fantastic location, great views, very relaxing. The service is friendly and efficient. Food is excellent. This was out first visit, had the special Easter Brunch, but based on this experience we will return to try their regular menu offerings.
Easter brunch, could not order off the menu and $55 a person was very expensive for a average buffet! Nice location on the river. Service and food just ok.
The prices of the Easter brunch were very expensive. I dont recall seeing the pricing on Open Table when making my reservation. The only thing we received that told me the price was when I received the bill. $55/person- this is insane. I had planned on $30-$35. The drinks were IN ADDITION so for a family of 5 it was exorbitant.
The service was great, really nice girl... the food was nothing special at all... I could get better steak and I did from a market not too far from this place. As an app we got the beet salad which everyone knows tastes great with goat cheese and of course that was one thing it was lacking so it was very blan. I asked for my steak med rare and it came out very well done but I didn't want to make a fuss and my boyfriend got some gnocchi dish and again very blan. Thankfully we came in as a gift but I wouldn't go back unless they worked on the food... I can see why now the bar was the busiest... the restaurant was dead
