Rossoblu was OUTSTANDING. From the greeters, to the servers and finally.... the food! I cannot say enough nice things about this place! Don’t worry about it’s location downtown. Just go!!
I'm not fully into this place. I loved the ambiance and was surprised that the noise levels were good even with a full house. I think I might consider this a good place to come for a great cocktail and maybe a "bar" dinner. The items surrounding the meal --that caesar salad is to die for, the linguine was beautifully delicate, and the tortellini en brodo was outstanding--but the mains were forgettable. Except the pork dish. That wasn't forgettable because it was just so darn odd. I grew up with the classic (rustic) version of this dish and what was served was, in my opinion, an unsuccessful updated version. We all thought it was fish when it was first presented at the table. To be fair, we didn't order the larger shared plates ($140 steak), but we did try an abundant number of dishes. I was most excited about the desserts, but upon hearing that the pastry chef was not in the kitchen that evening, we opted for the gelato--chocolate and pistachio. The portions were quite generous, which was nice for sharing among the 3 of us. We all agreed that the pistachio was a bit too sweet, and the chocolate a bit too salty---however combined they made the perfect bite. The space is beautiful, the service is adequate, the vibe is trendy, and the food is amazing in spots and just okay in others. I would come back, but again, for cocktails and a light meal. I think this would be a very nice spot for the dating sort.
This is a review of their brunch menu - the baked crespelle and brioche bread were very average tasting. The eggplant frittata was slightly better than average. The only good thing about the appenine breakfast was the pork belly - that was standout delicious. Lastly the lemon ricotta pancake and Nutella toast were the best things on the menu.
Amazing staff & attention to detail. My Fiancee & I went there for anniversary. Server asked if we ever been there, I said this is where we met for the first time! Shortly after, she came with Rose & handwritten Anniversary card signed by all staff! We also got dessert on the house.

Not only great food, but such a wonderful setting to have a meal. Friendly staff and also very helpful and knowledgeable about wines. Will def return soon.
Unfortunately, the best part of this meal was the wine, which, aside from curating the wine list, the restaurant had no part in preparing. The food was underwhelming (in general) especially for the price. As someone who has traveled to and dined in Bologna, this was a disappointment.
They couldn’t have been nicer and we had a great dinner. Waiter spilled a little water on me and brought us extra dishes and dessert to make up for it.
I would definitely return.
Fantastic meal and great service! I feel like too often in LA you might have great food, but the service or meal timing is way off, especially for these “share plate” type restaurants. Rossoblu though is like a well oiled machine as our appetizer came out within minutes, and we were never waiting long for the next dish to come out.
Also, we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and they started us off right away with some complimentary prosecco and finished with a wonderful dessert. All main staff that came to our table also wished her a happy birthday. Rossoblu definitely pays attention to all the details and the food was amazing too! We will definitely be back!
The hostess was a bit haughty when we arrived to check in and the wait staff, while attentive, had the same attitude throughout our meal. We ordered the suckling pig shoulder and it took a very long time to arrive. They did not tell us it would take longer and only came to let us know once it was nearly ready. Once it arrived, we noticed that they gave us the leg, not the shoulder. We also ordered Kennebeck potatoes, which were so over fried that they were barely edible. Other food looked good, so I can’t say that the food is bad overall. Unfortunately, this was a bad enough experience that I won’t be returning.
Mediocre. Not up to the hype. Lukewarm flavorless pasta, so-so salad lacking dressing, and mediocre soup. Good chicken and pork shoulder. Good service. Still, far from the praise it’s received.

Lovely restaurant patio. Service was attentive. Pasta not as spectacular as I had hoped but still really good. Got a fishbone in my first bite of orata and budino had too much nut topping that distracted from the pudding itself. Our appetizers and wine were amazing. I will go back.
Eat on the patio if you want to be able to talk to your table-mates. Food and service are wonderful. Noise level inside is high.

Amazing meal. Third time to Rossoblu and it never disappoints. Chef Steve came over and brought out our roasted suckling pig himself. An memorable and fantastic meal with some incredible friends.

Always have the Orata every time we visit. Its the best in town! Coal roasted veggies are a must each time too! And the bolognese is to die for. If you have a nut allergy skip it. Marinated in pistachios.

Great food and great experience at Rossoblu. Had the pork meatballs to start followed by Nonna's tagliatelle with bolognese sauce, the New York steak with some ridiculous sauce, and the Crispy,Kennebuc potatoes. Dessert was the Millefoglie, flakey phyllo pastry with caramel mascarpone, vanilla custard and raspberries. Not to be missed. Everything was delicious. Portions were perfect size. Just enough for two. We were lucky enough to have Dannon as our server. He was super friendly, had a great sense of humor and was a great and efficient server to boot. Noise level was a little loud as the evening progressed but not so loud so you couldn't have a conversation with your dinner partner. All in all, a great experience across the board.
We ate at the restaurant for the first time and loved sitting on the patio. In addition, the service was well choreographed and friendly.
My quibble is with something that happened with our wine order, so probably under the purview of the sommelier. We ordered a bottle of the rose on the single/bottle menu but were brought a bottle that was at a higher price point (without being told it was more expensive) because they had just finished the last bottle of the one we had ordered. I would have preferred being offered the wine menu again and we would have chosen something else.
Overall, the food is good and the setting lovely (inside and out). We will be back --perhaps to try the happy hour, since it's a little pricey.
Everything about tonight was special. The witty banter at the bar. The marvelous hostess who secured us a table outside. Our exuberant server both knowledgeable in every respect and engaging at every turn. And even the busboy had a million dollar smile as he cleared our dishes. Surely this is how royalty is served. Every course was unique and exceptionally well prepared as well.
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had a great time! From the service, ambience, food, and overall experience, it was amazing. Thank you for having us, Rossoblu.
Excellent authentic Northern Italian food! We heard and met the owner Steve at Disneyland and we were so impressed we had to see his restaurant! We had our toddler (3 years) old with us, and we didn't feel shunned. Actually, the outside seating is pretty good for kids.
Outstanding meal, highly recommend for a special occasion. Not cheap, but worth it!
Went with a buddy a few weeks ago and had a great time. Cocktails were really good, although my negroni was on the small side and served up without asking. We sat at the Kitchen Counter, next to the Santa Maria grill. Food was great, the server gave great recommendations. I expected the Orata to be filleted for us, but we had no issues working with it ourselves. Overall fun times, good wine pairings, good food. I'll be back!
I'm just realizing right now that my reservation was for 9:15 and I thought it was 9:30. Credit to the very kind front-of-house professionals for not judging us at all. Big space, quite loud, but attentive service and, most important, focused food. Perfect little oysters, intense brodo, etc. Would love to return and sample other dishes.

Superb food, friendly service, food was prepared and served quickly. Delicious wine menu and interesting cocktails. Definitely plan to return to try their brunch and will go for drinks and sit outside in the courtyard.
Perfect night! When I booked the reservation, I included a note that we were celebrating our one year anniversary. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and got complimentary ice cream with our dessert. Wonderful staff, food, wine, cocktails, and ambience. Can’t wait to go back!
