Was looking forward to trying out this restaurant for a long overdue date night with my husband. Turned out to be really disappointing. Service was not friendly and our waitress was really slow. Food was just ok for the price. Can't imagine going back.
Server didn't seem invested in us and attention was lack luster. Waited for wine to be delivered and water glasses to be refilled.
Service was great. Food was outstanding. We love this restaurant. The menu frequently changes, which gives options to try new foods. The specials are always great.
We have been in Rosso several times, and quality, good service and quiet atmosphere is always great and sustainable!
This Italian hot spot in Trenholm Plaza in Forest Acres is ok but not great. My husband and I first visited this spot when it first opened and had a pretty bad experience, so we hadn't been back until last weekend. We were given a gift card, so we decided to try it again for date night. The interior of the restaurant has a beautiful look, but it is fairly loud. Our waiter was VERY lackluster and answered many questions with "I don't know." He was not what you expect when spending $120+ on dinner. Also, for an expensive dinner, it was served very quickly. We were out in under an hour and felt pushed to leave. For a nice dinner out, I expect to savor the experience, not eat quickly and run out. My drink (vodka soda) was very weak and the soda was flat. Despite the quality of the experience, there were some good food moments. The kale salad was excellent. My husband had salmon that was cooked well. The mozzarella cheese appetizer was fair to good because the flavor was excellent but it was a bit greasy and lukewarm. Overall, we enjoyed this restaurant, but we will not go back because an establishment of this price range should be great, not mediocre.
We went for a Birthday and had been before. We all enjoyed our meal and our waiter was excellent. Great place!
The food is always good. A little variety on the vegetables that come with entrees would help. Seems a lot of the menu items all come with the same vegetabes. If you don't like brussel sprouts, that limits your choices. I'm sure you can probably substitute. The pizza is great.
We were there for Easter Brunch and it was excellent. We will be back to experience the regular menu.
Went for Easter brunch. The food was mediocre and lukewarm if not cold. Not a great experience and not worth the price.
Took a while for server to welcome table, even though it appeared to be a slow night for the restaurant. We ordered bottle of prisoner and craft beer, wine came out first we had to ask server about our beer that had been sitting at bar for several minutes that had lost its cold temp. Appetizers came out quickly and were good. We ordered pizza from their brick oven and was listed as a daily item on menu, we ordered black olives and pepperoni, sever brought us pepperoni and green olives. I asked for them to redo as we ordered. Server came back and said they were out of black olives and pepperoni. So we finished our appetizers and drinks and asked for check, after being check server then informed that credit card machine has been down for the day and she would have to do it the old fashion way which means she and the rest of staff would have numbers on credit card. We paid cash and called it an evening. Want be back to Rosso’s
We had reservations for a Friday night at 7:45. We arrived on time and were seated promptly, ordered and then waited 1 hr for food to arrive. It was delicious, but the kitchen is definitely understaffed and nothing was done to offset the extraordinary wait ( discount or free drink????) the waiter was distracted throughout our meal but did refill water glasses a LOT while we waited.
Great food and service! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.
Very good food. Steak was excellent
We love going to Rosso with our teenage daughters. There is something for everyone and it is consistently delicious.
Very poor service for the cost and type of restaurant...everyone from the host to our servers were aloof and were only nice when they brought our check. The food is ok and the ambiance is decent. We had to ask for bread and water refills!
We went to Rosso's for an early, pre-symphony dinner. We were seated promptly but no one came to our table for quite a while. I had to ask a staff member to locate our server. The food was good (veal and chicken parm) and service was reasonably attentive after the initial bobble.
Everything was very good...food, service, and wine. The only suggestion would be on the salad. The arugula salad had way too many stems in it, but it was still very tasty. Overall, it was a great meal as always.
Enjoyed an exquisite and delicious meal in there quiet and relaxing dining room. Everything was just perfect. A five-star experience.
Reservation was at 7:00 and we were seated promptly. The restaurant was not in the least crowded; however I felt rushed the entire evening. The bread and dipping oil was removed from the table before we were finished and the waitress tried several times to remove my entree plate before I was finished. It was not a relaxing experience. The food was good although my salad contained way too many croutons. Atmosphere is generally good.
Food was heavenly! We paired the dinner with a delicious red wine. Absolutely loved visiting in Columbia from California. We will be back to visit our daughter and Rosso will be back on the list for another memorable evening.
Great food, excellent service, dined here number of times and have never been disappointed
We had an excellent dining experience. The entrees we selected were all very good.
Will def go back
Opentable Reservation worked beautifully
My wife and I have eaten there twice and had different meals each time. We have been delighted with the fare and my name ends in a vowel!
The red snapper was wonderful. It is always a pleasure to dine at Rosso's . And the homemade ravioli was excellent as well.
Ribeye requested rare came out medium well. The most expensive thing on the menu should be prepared with the most care and precision.
Fantastic Food and Atmosphere!
Reed was a wonderful server and took great care of us!
We will return soon!
Casual dinner - warm enough to eat outside which was a nice change. We ordered entree salads with salmon which were very good - salmon was done perfectly. Steak frites order by other in the party was also very good.
I've been there many times with Family and Colleagues. Great menu (margherita pizza is unique!), and well balanced menu (different choices). Wines are good, with reasonable prices. Service is excellent.
I was extremely impressed with the food and the service. I absolutely loved the place!
Very good meal.
We had an outstanding dinner in a great atmosphere. Food, presentation, and service were excellent. We went out for our Valentine's dinner on a weekend night. It was a great choice.
Service could have been better. Food was good. I never expect great service on Valentine's Day since it is always so busy.
Rosso made it a lovely evening on such a busy Valentines night.
My girlfriend and I met here for Valentine’s day because it is half way between Charlotte and Charleston our respective cities. The service was excellent. The food was quick and evening was enjoyable. Would definitely meet there again.
Second time here. This place is fantastic. The food is the best that we have had, and we have been to some really good places, from hole-in -the-wall to 5 star. The wait staff is knowleable and efficient and the drinks were interesting. We will return!
My wife and had a great meal at Rosso this past Saturday. We have been there often and it is one of our all-time favorite spots. The restaurant itself is comfortable and has agreat layout and décor. Our food was excellent. My wife had the shrimp scampi and I had the pasta di Bolognese. Both dishes were excellent and the servings were plentiful. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of the house Chianti. The wine list provides a very good variety, as well. The service was very good even though the restaurant was full, A very nice evening!!
One of the best dining experiences in Columbia. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The veal saltimbocca was very good as was the scallop risotto. Dessert was a mascarpone cheesecake which was light and tasty.
Great dinner as usual. Love the homemade ravioli. Unusual combination of ingredients but they worked together.
Appetizers and salads were excellent. The wine was also excellent. My wife states her entre' was delicious. My entre' was disappointing. The pork chop was "gristly" so much so that it was difficult to cut. The service was excellent: attentive but not intrusive. Even though the restaurant was busy we did not feel rushed. On the whole it was a very enjoyable dining experience.
