Rosso Trattoria Italia Ratings and Reviews
Service tonight was slow. It took well over an hour after we ordered to get our meals. Drink refills were very slow as well. Given the time it took to get our food we probably would have ordered one more round of drinks before it got there. Food was good. We heard a server tell another nearby table they had more take-out orders than usual so the kitchen was backed up. While I’m known to order take out, I believe an advanced scheduled reservation should probably take precedence.
My wife’s food was superb. I am not an Italian food lover so I had a steak. Very expensive and very very mediocre. We will try again as she really liked what the chef put together for her. My idea of great Italian rolls on 4 rubber tires, rolls super fast and costs a bunch. Italian food lovers will love this place.
We were delighted! It was so quiet we could actually talk to each other (what a concept!). Our wait person, Kyle, was efficient, knowledgeable, personable, and a delight. Loved the red walls. A little on the expensive side, but fine for a special occasion. We will definitely be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, we have been here for birthdays in the past, but this time, it was for Christmas Eve dinner. It was an incredible menu, and we had great service. The wine and cocktails are out of this world. The cocktail, Santa's helper made of Kahlua was sweet and delicious. Definitely recommended and a great place for dinner.
The problem started when we arrived and were seated. The person that sat us told me although we had a 6:15 reservation that they had someone coming in at 8 or maybe 8:30 for that table. Never in my life have I had that happen.
The food is always good but this time my son had the Flant steak and it was close to cold are barely warm. My potato’s under the New York strip were also cold. The food was good outside that. The flavors were good and my steak was cooked just right. The wife and my sons girl friends food was good.
I've been to Rosso quite a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it; however, this last visit was a big disappointment. The service was extremely poor. Two people in our party did not get their food until the other six people were almost finished with their meals. The wait staff and manager did not care and did not offer any explanation. The foood was good once we finally got it. Several people in our group had dishes containing shrimp, but there weren't many shrimp in them. We'll give Rosso another chance one day to redeem themselves.
Kyle was our server and he was so very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious as always. My husband was continuing to talk about his delicious lampchops last night over our dinner at home. Thank you for maintaining such high quality dining at Rosso!!! It is always fabulous.
The ambience and cuisine is excellent and worth the value. However, the server was slow and left us waiting to pay the bill for 30-45 minutes after he dropped it off. The check had to be personally hand-delivered to the manager, who subsequently had to deliver it to the server.
The server was also not updated with menu items. I ordered the American Wedding Soup, as listed on the menu. However, when I said American Wedding he referred to it as a salad, which he stated they use to apparently have on the menu. However, they did not anymore and only had a Zuppa by that name.
The service at Rossos has never disappointing us. Our server mad great recommendation and was there enough but not overbearing. He was kind enough to offer a taste of a bottle of wine before I ordered it to make sure I was going to be happy. Cioppino is a favorite dish of mine and this one was good but not overwhelming. My husband really enjoyed the Ragu Bolognese with fresh Pappardelle pasta. The others at our table got the Steak special with mushrooms and each was cooked to perfection. Presentation was beautiful as well. Put this on your list of places to visit soon.
Typically we have wonderful service but our waiter was only ok. He took quite a while to get our wine order and we waited for at least 40 minutes for our entrees. The waiter did say that they were short of help but I would have appreciated being told that either by the manager or before we had waited so long for our food. It's nice to be updated initially.
The mushroom Rizzoto and shrimp scampi were delicious! The server was not very well trained on the wine menu. Because of this my friend Sent back two wine choices that were not very good before settling on one that was enjoyable. Salad prices were high for a few leaves and toppings.
Ambiance and location are very good!
We had a nice birthday dinner for my friend - she loves the CAB ribeye and going to Rosso’s is her first choice. She stared her celebration by enjoying the house special Cosmopolitaliano cocktail We also enjoyed the roasted grapes and olives, and calamari appetizer. We shared the CAB ribeye which was cooked to medium rare perfection, tender juicy and full flavored. We also shared the prosciutto, goat cheese and fig purée topped pizza which is another favorite. For the birthday girl dessert finale was traditional Italian tiramisu with special delivery from Richard., the owner. The service was just the right balance to be attentive and personal from the wait staff and owner. A lovely way to end a well served celebration dinner.
Rosso has an extensive wine list representing Italy, Spain and the US with over 32 varietals offered by the glass. That in itself is great for people who like to try different wines in one sitting without having to commit to an entire bottle . Coming from a family of WA state wine investors it’s always nice to see that there is something for every price point from moderate pricing to a select premium reserve selection.
MY wife and daughter had a late dinner during USC Parents' Week. We all enjoyed our meal, but our waitress struggled and was clearly in no position to be working. Management could have saved her some embarrassment by sending her home. Still, we enjoyed our meal, and we all felt the food lived up to the high ratings this restaurant typically receives.
