We had a wonderful time with wine around the fire outdoors, then an intimate dinner around the tower table. So many delicious tastes, and a great time with our server, Ben. We felt like we were welcomed into a special place by people who really care about it.
We are thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful time and enjoyed your meal! Thank you for your review!
we loved it, food was amazing! we had a business meeting there and it was the perfect spot.
We love hearing that you had a wonderful visit! Thank you for your review!
Lovely space and servers but the restaurant ran out of food and they tried to hide it by creating teeny tiny portions!!! We were compensated (a little) but We left VERY hungry!!!!
We are so sorry to hear that your visit was not as you had hoped. We appreciate your feedback so that we can always continue to make improvements. We hope you'll give us another chance in the future!
Sat outside for brunch. Service was good but limited menu for brunch. There are only a few covered patio tables but the server told us they are redoing the patio to accommodate more.
Anthony, thank you for joining us for brunch! We're glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see you again soon!
We sat on the patio near the lawn, which we loved! It was a bit chilly out there, however they did have small lap blankets available if you cared for one. The happy hour drinks were tasty as well as the happy hour food. Our server Kate was fantastic! We will definitely be back again soon!
We're thrilled to hear you loved sitting out on the patio during happy hour! We appreciate you letting us know you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Sunday brunch. Relaxed and welcoming spot in a lovely old home. I had house made sausage and sweet potato hash with fried egg, and a rosemary infused mimosa. Good food with a Tex mex twist. Servers are friendly and attentive. Thank you Nick!
Great ambiance, good food concepts. Everything was really strong in flavor though. Either very spicy or smoky. Some subtlety would be nice.
Thank you so much for your review and feedback! We truly appreciate it and hope you'll come back to see us again in the near future!
Worth trying. Service was excellent. Food was creative. However, food temperature was always lukewarm. We did the tasting menu per the water's recommendation. We were not asked what temp was wanted the beef, but accepted the chef's liking. We should not have. I like rare, but this was raw. And the ravioli came out harder them el dente - seemed as if it was cooked properly, but allowed to cool which allowed the edges to harden a tad too much. All in all, the creativity and quality ingredients and waitstaff carried the show. I would try again. But the $100pp price tag set my expectations for Austin at a certain level and i did fall short this time. We shall see next time :)
Not sure how we missed this nugget before tonight. Great food and great service. A little noisy, but expected, considering this is a renovated Victorian home that's beautiful. Don't expect a romantic atmosphere, but if you want to impress her, go here!
We did the tasting menu with drink pairing and we left well satisfied. We spent twice as much at an upscale sushi restaurant two days ago and left there uninspired and less than impressed. We will absolutely be back for more!
Appetizers were good but all the other food was not good. Drinks were ok.
Excellent food and dining experience.
Fabulous meal. Enjoyed the tasting menu for the first time and it was wonderful. Love the staff and the ambiance.
Really disappointing food. The atmosphere and ambiance are so cute and has such a great view of downtown that I feel like people good the food a pass. It's like a want to be Emmer & Rye but the quality and flavors were not there. We got the pear salad and it may have been one of the grossest things my husband and I have ever eaten. It tasted like some dumped salt combined with smokey burnt flavor that we literally could not get out of our mouths. I told the waiter it was very salty and he seemed to think this was just our opinion - and not to mention I usually salt my food. The bavette waygu was so chewy it was like steak flavored chewing gum. It also came out nearly raw (the urged me to order medium-rare but this was basically mooing). So disappointing, especially since we went for our one year wedding anniversary.
Lovely old home venue.
We were first seated next to a very loud table, but were easily moved to a quiet corner with a view of the kitchen (love to watch the kitchen at work).
Service was excellent. Wine list while sparse, had some nuggets of value.
Beautiful view of sunset.
We sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen... service was excellent... interesting wine list reasonably priced. Tried six of the small plates and were not disappointed in any of them.
In the most charming environment, the wait staff was attentive, informative, and helpful. The food was familiar yet with a surprising element to each dish. I would go back over and over. Plus, parking was incredibly easy.
All of the above, nice enough for a special occasion, but casual enough to enjoy anytime.
Went for Sunday brunch with some friends and the atmosphere is fantastic! It was a shame that the food and service weren’t at the same level. The food was relatively mediocre...not bad, just not anything remarkable that would make you want to come back. Aside from the host who greeted and sat us, every interaction we had with the staff was awkward. One staff member seemed to completely ignore one of the people in our party; it was so strange.
I really hope the food and staff can improve because the location of this restaurant and atmosphere are top notch!
Astra was knowledgeable and humorous, attentive and did not hurry us. Been to Rosewood several times and the food is consistently good. The short rib dinner was awesome.
Wonderful!! Truly superb!
We were meeting out of town friends for brunch and booked a reservation because we usually really enjoy the brunch here. The menu changed since our last visit and it was not a good experience. The barbacoa tacos which were really good are no longer on the menu. We were disappointed with that but we were open to trying new dishes. I’m not sure if it was an off day or what but the chips served with the chicken fried steak sandwich tasted fishy like they had been fried in old oil. They seemed to have forgot one of our friends migas orders and brought it out significantly later then the rest of our table was served. The migas were bland and the tortillas were oily. The hash browns were oily as well. The taste and quality of the dishes were not what we expected. We had previously really enjoyed this restaurant and am hoping this was just an off day.
The a la carte menu changes frequently and the choices are limited. We opted to do the tasting menu which was excellent.
A Charming Vintage House with a patio under arches of Tall Full Tree Branches was the first view. This restaurant makes you feel as though you have been invited to be entertained and fed by a very experienced Host! The Catfish had the lightest batter and you tasted delicate fish. The Brisket was tender garnished with a sweet onions and tart radishes. A delight for the eyes! The service is immpecable with professional friendliness that I have not seen in Austin since I moved here. Thank you Rosewood for the delightful dinner. I look forward to the next "invite"
Place: Lovely renovation with nice details.
Host: My partner commented that the host only talked to me and not to both of us.
Waiter: Very good with recommendations
Food: Inconsistent. The Beef tartare and pear arugala salad were big hits. Unfortunately the ceviche had a fishy taste, which our waiter apologized for (he gave us complementary cookies). Rest of dishes were fine, nothing special.
Value: There were just enough glitches in the night to prevent us from coming back any time soon. I hope they can improve their consistency.
Beautiful ambience and delicious food! We did the tasting menu and wine pairing. Delicious on all levels and great not to have to make any decisions!
Impeccable service and food. Lovely atmosphere. All night happy hour on Thursdays!
Delicious and original. Farm to table, organic, delightfully and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend.
They couldn’t use our open table rewards code, so I’d like them redeposited info my account.
Great experience, service was fantastic from the host, to the bar wait staff, to the server. The tasting menu was excellent. Thank you!
My girlfriends and I went to Rosewood a few nights ago. The food was incredible as always. The Drum Ceviche was incredible. The coconut really balanced out the ceviche. The Shrimp Jambalaya is a must! We had such a lovely time. Can't wait to go back
Every dish of the Sunday Dinner was great! Our server, Nick, made sure we had an enjoyable time throughout our entire stay (which included heading out to the backyard for one last drink and some night sky). Definitely recommend.
Maybe it was just the menu for that day, but Rosewood was underwhelming for the price. We found the cocktails were very hit or miss, but the worst offense was the price for small portions of under flavored and poorly cooked food. The dining area is also fairly small and tightly packed which made it quite noisy. I will say, the service was good and they were willing to accommodate after informing them of our dissatisfaction. However, unless the menu our day was a fluke (downside of a rotating menu), I cannot recommend Rosewood based on the meal we had.
a historical Texas landmark turned restaurant. located to the easy of I 35, it sits away form the rowdy side of Austin. perfectly settled on a hill, this 40's style home is warm, welcoming, and tasty. the staff is exceptionally friendly and inviting, knowledgeable about the menu and wine. the portions are small but flavorful and pack a punch to any pallet. the menu has a few staple items on it but most change day to day keeping it real and fresh. music was fabulous.
We were a group of 4 on a Thursday night which was active but quiet enough to enjoy conversation. Our meal was outstanding and the service was perfect. Small plates arrived at regular intervals and were neither rushed nor were we waiting for food to arrive. The ceviche and cannelloni were light and fresh. The catfish and the quail were prepared perfectly. We also enjoyed the creative cocktails. Highly recommend Rosewood.
Staff was delightful! The timing was very well done! Lovely old home, felt very comfortable! Food was excellent!
The staff is FANTASTIC. The food was AMAZING!! Definitely would go back again.
Brunch on Saturday for our party of four exceeded expectations. This was our first venture to Rosewood, and we were all very impressed with the decor, the service and the well prepared brunch menu. We relied on the server's suggestions, which were spot on. Everything was over-the-top delicious. We'll be back for dinner next time.
Excellent food with friendly and efficient service
Every bite of food was well balanced and either melted in my mouth or tasted tantalizing. We chose the weekly pairing which was the right amount of delicious creations and the perfect pairing of fine wines! My friend and I enjoyed every drop and every morsel! Highly satisfying and superb quality! Not to mention the property is beautiful and cozy! I forgot I was still in city!
