A favorite in the Cow Hollow neighborhood, Rose's Café is a hangout for locals who bask in the sun at sidewalk tables, duck inside for a cappuccino, or stay for a leisurely meal. Many customers are regulars who frequent the pretty bistro-café that offers table service and some of the most deliciously affordable food in San Francisco - Italian fare created using organic local produce, fresh seafood, humanely raised meats, and free-range poultry. Rose's artisan bakers bake a daily selection of pastries, desserts and breads. Menu highlights include: pizzas, daily soups and house made pasta. Accepting Reservations for Dinner Only!

Food was delicious BUT we got there at 7pm, but didn’t get our first bit of food until 8pm! Not even crowded. Waitress was very sweet but food took SO long and other dishes were very slow arriving after the first one.

We stay near Rose's a couple times a year and love making it our neighborhood cafe. We've only ever had dinner there. We love the carefully prepared food and the cozy, untrendy ambience.

The maitre'd and waitress were exceptional. Everyone was very friendly. The food was superb and the portions ample. We shared a chopped salad and tasted the roasted salmon and pork dishes. They were extremely good. Nice wine list .

Cole was the consummate waitress and made our evening enjoyable . The fried polenta would be a meal.

Always a brilliant choice. Salads are fresh and creative and the pasta is perfect. Portions are just right and the taste is wonderful. Rose’s is my go-to place when I’m dining in SF for the first time. Besides, I love two blocks away. I love it’s convenience, too.

Dinner was good. Not spectacular, but good.
Although the Chopped Salad is very good.
Our complaint is that some entre portions (i.e. ravioli's) and desserts are skimpy.
Desserts are all $9. - the piece of buttermilk lemon cake with ice cream was
ridiculously small. (cake was cut in a very small piece, and ice cream scoop the size of a golf ball.
What bugged us was also the coca-cola @ $3.25 was served in a glass 3/4 filled with ice!
Ridiculous! You are certainly taking advantage of your customers.
We suggest you address these issues.

We found the wine list to be pricey and the food seemed to be more expensive than we'd remember but it is always a good neighborhood option.

We booked a table for a special occasion. Greeting was cursory, the table for two for a special occasion was at the gloomy back of the restaurant - and in the middle of tables for four or more- - others were available ! Later the tables on either side got filled up and we had to slide our table to allow the others to get in and then we were all so close that we were almost eating off each others plates. We were hurried along and left in less than an hour. The food is well cooked but the waitress was awful - very surly and when asked for some explanation on the menu - was very abrupt.
