Rose's Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was good. Not spectacular, but good.
Although the Chopped Salad is very good.
Our complaint is that some entre portions (i.e. ravioli's) and desserts are skimpy.
Desserts are all $9. - the piece of buttermilk lemon cake with ice cream was
ridiculously small. (cake was cut in a very small piece, and ice cream scoop the size of a golf ball.
What bugged us was also the coca-cola @ $3.25 was served in a glass 3/4 filled with ice!
Ridiculous! You are certainly taking advantage of your customers.
We suggest you address these issues.
We booked a table for a special occasion. Greeting was cursory, the table for two for a special occasion was at the gloomy back of the restaurant - and in the middle of tables for four or more- - others were available ! Later the tables on either side got filled up and we had to slide our table to allow the others to get in and then we were all so close that we were almost eating off each others plates. We were hurried along and left in less than an hour. The food is well cooked but the waitress was awful - very surly and when asked for some explanation on the menu - was very abrupt.
a great restaurant that has really lost the great vibe, now with constant
changing staff, and uneven cooking of the recipes that were always so reliable.
need a good chef and cooks that are more careful and a staff that has a team attitude.
hope that can come back as it is awful to lose a great reliable local neighborhood spot
Yet another satisfying meal at Rose's Café! I had the flank steak which did not disappoint and my daughter had the pasta with clams. Both were good, but the pasta is a go-to dish for both of us!
The location is perfect for heading into or out of Marin. I sometimes rendezvous with my daughter who lives in the Richmond difference, drive to the theater together from there and them drop her off at her car after. I don't have to go out of my way and we only pay to park one car near the theater!
An outstanding dinner with my family that lived up to expectations in every way. The peach and rhubarb cobbler that finished the meal was the perfect component to the pasta and meat dishes we exclaimed over. Regular visitors to San Francisco, we always make sure to visit rose's every time we come.
Rose's is our family's neighborhood favorite. The kid's red sauce and pasta (not on menu) is affordable and always finished! Their menu changes daily but their pizza and pasta never disappoints. The green salad is also very good. They are always great with the kids and bring bread, olives and CRAYONS to color on the table paper before the meal arrives. We go early, but it's usually full. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to eat outside.
Was referred to this restaurant for their fresh pastas and authenticity. Also was told it was very family friendly and was an easy walk from our hotel. It was authentic and had a good menu, but what we didn't realize was that the menu is different daily and there aren't any substitutions. They are very strict about that, so if you don't like the menu for the day, then there aren't many options. We ended up with soup and pizza, which wasn't bad, but not exactly what we were hoping for. Good food, just be prepared for select choices!
While visiting SF we chanced upon Rose's. my daughter and I shared multiple offerings. We started with the charcuterie plate, which was quite good. Next we shared the greens salad. Lastly we had the roast chicken, which was very delicious. No room for dessert. We sat outside, which was empty except for one other table. Nice and quiet for good conversation.
Our dinner was for our anniversary, and great care and attention was given by allowing us the same table we come to every year and the quality of food and service has stayed top of the line for us. The best recommendation I can give is that we will celebrate the next anniversary and many more at Rose's.
Cute and cozy with an intimate ambiance. Scallops with pomegranate risotto was absolutely phenomenal and our waiter was exceptional - always there when we needed him and never hovering when we didn't. Overall highly recommend. The soup was good too but for $12 a bowl next time I'll probably skip it.
I didn't like my meal as much as I wanted to. I really like this restaurant but the cut of the meat did not seem to be worth the price and the soup while pleasant was nothing to write home about. My partners meeting was excellent. Definitely willing to give roses café another chance but was disappointed with tonight's dining experience.
