I love this place! When I come to SF, it's one of my first choices. Good food, good service, good ambiance, good atmosphere, good location.
We love Rose's. Imagine stepping back to San Francisco, the way it was meant to be... Diverse clientele, affordable menu that doesn't require endless commentary, wait staff that are attentive and polite.
After quite a while, I finally revisited Rose's Cafe for dinner; in the past, it had been a venue mostly for lunch.
The broccoli soup starter was excellent.
I had the fantastically delicious short-rib main course -- meltingly tender and generous portion of beef (it could be eaten with a spoon, which i also used to scoop up the flavorful sauce), baby carrots and mashed potatoes.
Steven, our server, couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating.
A wonderful experience to be repeated again soon!
Usually a good experience at Rose's but I think they must have short-handed this time. Menus weren't ready for our 5:30 reservation and the food preparation took much longer than usual, forcing us to rush to finish eating in time for a 7pm event in the next block. Eaten here several times before; this time was not the best experience.
Love this great neighborhood spot. I eat here often and love everything on menu.
Rose's Cafe is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Delicious food, family friendly, and a great wine list.
It’s always a pleasure to dine at Rose’s Cafe. They remember your name and what you like to eat!
Rose’s is a classic SF Cafe. Both the food and service are excellent, and prices are reasonable. The decor is charming with several large mirrors and Murano lighting.
The margherita pizza and salads were amazing, as usual. Rawb and Anthony took good care of us.
A fine in door out door cosy neighborhood French style bistro in SF’s cow hollow / Marina.
Am institution, a go to.
Always a pleasure to dine at Rose.
Better food quality tonight, our 3rd visit in 6 months, same pretty bad service. Small place but waiter missing more than present. So many staff, but where are they? On a Sunday @ 7pm even, lace only 1/2 full even. Sweet Serbian busser Girl was our fav. Hopefully Owner fixes this SOON...
Great service and wonderful table outside
Relaxing spot. Very good food- loved the fettuccine! Also the pizza and pea soup were excellent. Friendly staff.
Outstanding service, wonderful food and not a long wait time for food to arrive...wonderful experience!
Food took over an hour to arrive and werent told when we ordered that the chicken takes 30 minute..and came after hour.. Ordered dessert and she forgot two of the 3 desserts. We eat here often and this might have been a bad night but service was not good. Food is very good.
A great relaxed atmosphere and good food. Had squash blosssom ricotta , clam linguine - really enjoyed both.
Wonderful neighborhood place where all ages gather for delicious food and a relatively quiet venue. A welcome respite from most of the Union St establishments that cater to the 20 and 30 somethings.
Breakfast, lunch or dinner - all superb at Rose's!
Food not nearly as good as in the past. Main course at least 30 min after starters. Noisy. Won’t go back
Great for everyday dining. Consistent, yummy, and nice people and atmosphere.
Chopped salad was good.
Steamed mussels fair, the meat in the mussels were on the smaller side, not the best quality. Sauce was good.
Pizza with wild mushrooms, leeks and ricotta was fair. Mushrooms were generic and lacked flavor, they need to add more flavorful ingredients. Was disappointing.
Cappuccino and biscotta was good.
Rose's Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. The food is always good, the service friendly, and the prices are fair. I'd recommend it for brunch, lunch and dinner! Go and you won't be sorry :-)
This is a superb restaurant. We will be back soon. Thanks.
Rose’s is my go to neighborhood place. I always run into people I know. Great menu - had the mussels last night.
celebrated my niece’s 21st birthday. we were treated to an amazing experience with friendly, engaging service (Stephanie was fabulous!) Brian and other staff went above and beyond with their friendliness, recommendations for extremely delicious menu items and wine/sparkling wine!!!! hats off to the chefs!! Thank you!! we will be back!
Great restaurant choice, very happy to have eaten there. Both our dishes were delicious, good service and nice ambiance. Larger portion sizes, took home leftovers of both our dishes.
Never been disappointed here. Solid neighborhood gem
The best roast chicken this side of Zuni, Pizza's fresh from the brick oven, and a small but well-crafted menu complimented by a similarly small but well-curated wine list all make Rose's a neighborhood favorite. Reservations recommended - download the OpenTable app and keep Rose's Cafe at the top of your list for Pac Heights eateries!
On our recent visit to San Francisco we stumbled across Rose’s, drawn to its overall European character (mostly a casual mix of Italian and French). The wait was a wee bit long, but granted it was lunch time. The food was so good we went back for dinner the next evening. We loved everything about it — the food (especially lunch) was creative and delicious, and the staff were helpful yet not intrusive. It was a delight!
Classical neighborhood family restaurant. One we always enjoy.
Always great! This visit my friend and I shared a few things and I have to say the roast chicken is outstanding! One of the best I’ve ever had and the watercress with a little lemon-flavored dressing was a delightful surprise too. Have never had a bad meal at Rose’s.
We eat semi-regularly at the restaurant, so high praise for its menu, preparation, wait staff. Kudos!
fabulous chicken and great salad. Could hear perfectly! My criterion for SF restaurants. Going back on Friday!
Food was very disappointing. The waitress was great.
Fantastic food and fantastic service, as always!!!
Really great service. We shared most of the dishes and it was plenty of food! All tasty.
One of the best meals we have ever had. Capellini and skirt steak. Great decaf latte! Service perfect
This is my neighborhood 'go to' restaurant. The food is simple, cooked to perfection, fresh ingredients , and the service is friendly. We were greeted at the door as we walked in and our waitress was charming and helpful. We will see you again. Pat and Terry Daugharty
