Our server was great and very nice however the food was not up to par. Our appetizers were good. When our dinner came out our sides were freezing cold. The corn had a hunk of butter in it not even melted and was cold to the touch. Our potatoes were also cold. My steak was not good and did not seem to have enough attention to detail. There were 5 of us and we spent a lot of money for food to be cold and poor. Even our coffee came out extremely cold. We spent the same money at GT prime and the food was phenomenal and so was the service. Next year rosebud will not be on our list of restaurants.
We dined at Rosebud Steakhouse which was conveniently located close to our hotel. Our waiter, Alex, was very attentive and when we told him we were celebrating our birthdays he brought us complimentary desserts—unfortunately since my wife is severely allergic to strawberries, we had to decline but it was such a sweet thought.
Fantastic. My 2nd time here. I cant stress that you try the Eggplant stack enough... it’s ridiculous! Their steaks, sides and desserts were also exceptional. Looking forward to a reason to come to Chicago again soon just so Rosebud can be on my itinerary again.
There are so many restaurants in Chicago better than Rosebud in Streeterville. Yes, the service is good and the food is above average. On the other hand, the value is just not there. You walk away saying -- "wow, that was expensive -- was it really worth it." I say no. We will probably not return.
Excellent staff and cuisine. A very nice experience
Comfortable, old-school ambiance, seasoned servers, very good food. It was a nice, solid experience overall.
Wonderful meal and service. Perfect timing in the meal delivery and excellent tiramisu. Loved the brussels sprouts and halibut.
I was enjoy the ambiance, service and food when I come to Rosebud Steakhouse. They treat you great.
We recently celebrated my husband’s birthday at Rosebud Steakhouse, it’s his choice for best hamburger in Chicago. We had a lovely lunch, starting with the superb fresh and briny oysters from the West and East coasts. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices that ranged from the fish choices to the prime rib sandwich, and of course the hamburger didn’t disappoint either.
The unexpected snowy spring day added an extra cozy feel to the steakhouse decor. The service was friendly, attentive and meal well paced. There are a lot of steakhouse choices in the city but Rosebud Steakhouse shouldn’t get lost in the talk, it’s well worth a visit.
Great service, excellent food, huge portions! We have also been to the Rosebud in Little Italy in Chicago and enjoyed it too. These people know how to do it.
Frank was super! Greet ambiance.. huge portions!
We try to eat at Rosebud every time we make it to Chicago. The food is always great.
Very good food and wait staff. Have been there before on numerous occasions and have always had a good experience.
Very nice restaurant, good location. The steaks was superb, but mine was ordered to be medium rare, but was served raw. All items held high quality.
in the past few years I have eaten at Rosebud on Walton 20 times. This was the best. Great service, great food. I had the prime rib special and it was perfect. Our waiter was polite and accommodating. Always a good meal but this one was one of the best.
My son and I were in Chicago visiting his daughter (my granddaughter) to see her at college and tour the campus (Univ. of Chicago). The 3 of us went to Rosebud and all 3 were floored. My son's comment it was the best restaurant he had ever been to. I've been to more, but couldn't disagree.
We've eaten at Rosebud Steakhouse in 2017 and 2019 and were lucky enough to have had Frank as our waiter both times. The serving sizes are larger than expected. In fact, Frank was kind enough to point out that the sides were easily large enough for three or four. Halibut Picatta was delicious. All the steaks are perfect. Wedge salad with tomatoes, bacon, and blue cheese dressing is usually "typical" but this one takes it to another level... SUPER.
There were several exceptionally loud tables that really ruined the evening. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Very disappointed
Service pretty good here. Very nice dinner. Service staff is too aggressive pushing appetizers, but they made up for it by looking after us attentively. I had a table of 8 and they handled it well. Classy place for a nice dinner with friends or business.
Absolutely a great dining experience while on business in Chicago! Little pricey and the sides seem to be pre-cooked and re-heated...
At one time one of the best in the city.Overpriced can’t even get a pint of beer.Service was fine food terrible .Cold hard bread served to the table.Burnt Firecracker Pork Chop lumpy mashed potatoes. My wife and I concur never again to Rosebud.Shame how far down this restaurant has gone.Should have known when only 5 tables were filled.
It was a great luncheon with excellent service. They are exceptional people really pay attention to their guests.
I am a true high end steakhouse aficionado and regularly eat at all of Chicago’s high end emporiums for beef. In my opinion, Rosebud Steak on Walton is the most underrated steakhouse in the city deserving to be at the very top of the list. The quality of the meat is equal to any of their competitors but what sets them apart is the consistency of the service and comfortable ambience of the room. You are always welcomed and no matter how busy, never a nuisance. They truly value you as a guest like one would in your home. No hassle on wine corkage and the drinks are generous and well presented. I highly recommend.
Consistently excellent. The creamed spinach is outstanding. Large portions, so be prepared to share.
We love this place.... so nice to go out to dinner and be able to have a conversation without a lot of noise around you. So many of the restaurants today are not conducive to meetings or intimate gatherings
We had a very good time. The excellent food (in interest of full disclosure the key lime pie was not to our liking but the banana cream pie was very good), the service was perfect, great background music and the drinks were perfect.
This location is a quick walk from the Drake and we would definitely return to both.
Went there with my husband and my two young adult children. Since it was Lent we all ordered seafood entrees. I had the Fra Diavolo, which was spicy and delicious! My daughter ordered the half crab, which at first we thought was a small portion, but prior to that we had the Jumbo Shrimp cocktail and a Caesar salad, so it was plenty. My husband and son ordered the bass which was cooked perfectly. Our sides were roasted Brussel sprouts, also very tasty, but the “hash browns” we more like diced potatoes, not shredded which is what we think of when we ordered it. Our server was Katie, who did an excellent job. We’d go back again.
Very nice expeeiemce
I ordered a medium rare burger. It was a bit under cooked. The bun on the bottom was all soggy.
Prices on the steaks were very expensive. Very good, friendly service. Sat next to wine storage rack which is full of cobwebs and dust.
Daniel our waiter always makes it a great dinner at Rosebud Steakhouse. Fantastic service & top notch menu!
I will try not to go back on a Saturday night d/t the noise level. There was no way we could hear our guests speak. I do love this restaurant on week nights and for lunch.
Such a great place!! Steaks are amazing as is the Dover Sole. Greek salad outstanding as well.
The food was very good. The service was excellent. Would dine there again
We love this restaurant. It’s usually consistent. This night 3 people ordered burgers and they were all over cooked. The baked potato was cold. Good service. Whitefish portion was very small. Not sure what was up. Hope it was just a bad night.
Perfect night for my birthday celebration.
Food was amazing. Our waiter Louis was very disappointing. Didn’t check on us or spend any time. We honored the 20 percent tip but he certainly didn’t earn it.
This is one of my favorite steak houses in Chicago. I’ve ate here several times and the service and food are second to none every time. It has a very warm and classy feel to it. Great wine list and drinks.
We went there for our honeymoon dinner! Was great!
Wonderful food and big portions make this a great place to celebrate special occasions as well as to enjoy regular meals.
My date and I loved the Valentines day dinner for two special! Everything was perfect.
