Rosebud Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated our 40th Anniversary at this location. On open table we requested seating with window view in Romantic seating area. Our Maitre d Bill was extremely understanding and was able to accommodate us and provided complimentary sitting at bar until our table was ready . The table was perfect, thanks to Him it made our night special. Our waitress Katie was unbelievable the way she communicated , recommended and served our food. The dinner itself we had ribeye steak & veal chops which was prepared and tasted beyond excellent.
Thanks to all for a wonderful evening!!!!
I have dined here several when in Chicago. Food was excellent as always. We were there at 5:00 for an early dinner prior to a sporting event. Service was not good this night. Waiter was more interested in cleaning wine glasses at unoccupied tables than helping us enjoy our dinner. Had to ask for refills twice and never a trip by our table to see how things were going-always cleaning the glasses!! Food and atmosphere always good here and most of the time good service. Not sure what was the problem this night but definitely recommend Rosebuds and will go back!
The service was good the food was not. My date and l asked for a steak medium well what we received was a very well done steak burnt actually. A baked patatoe that come out of the microwave 6 pieces of lettuce with a taste of ceasears dressing. I was disappointed totally. I've been to rosebud before and was impressed / not this time. And did I mention that the food was cold. For 160$ I expected better. Are you under new management because the onion are no longer on the menu.
Rosebud Steakhouse is a very consistent eating establishment. The food is always excellent,, and the service is always superior. There may, on occasion, be a short wait for your reservation, but that is a minor concession to make for a superior meal at an excellent restaurant.
we went for date night and frankly, forgot how fun it is here as well!
we had a group of businessmen enjoying a dinner next to us, while we enjoyed our romantic dinner in a cozy booth.
service is outstanding and prompt
food is out of this world!
we also got gelato/ sorbet sent our way.... do NOT miss the raspberry one if you can stuff it in:)
Oddly, my favorite thing is the wedge salad. They do it so perfectly that I find myself craving it sometimes! Avoid the Brussels sprouts - they were undercooked and kind of inedible. Everything is enormous food - which kind of bugs me - but you will for sure have left-overs to take home of anything you order.
The staff here are just the best in making a steakhouse experience work. My father and I have a great evening together. Also, the brightness level is really right in this restaurant. Too many places are too dark. I guess that they have figured out that their demographic skews bit older. But that just goes to how they know what to do.
Classic Chicago steakhouse experience. Went for my girlfriend's birthday and they started the evening off by comping two glasses of sparkling rose. Portions are massive (although it's priced accordingly, everything is cooked to perfection, and the wine list, both by the glass and bottle, is up to snuff with the rest of its competitor restaurants. I'd absolutely come back. The only critique I could make, is that comparable restaurants like Chicago Cut tend to have their Front of House staff more well versed on wine and overall table side service.
The restaurant was very busy, the waiter was clearly not up to the job, his timing was poor, serving the appetizer and the salads at the same time. He disappeared for long periods of time leaving our party to try to flag down other members of staff to serve us.
My steak was ordered medium rare but arrived well done.
If we had a better waiter and the steak had not been over cooked the review would have been much better.
As always, Rosebud Steakhouse did not disappoint. Even our Morton Steak fan thoroughly enjoyed his Filet with Béarnaise. We had a sweet and sociable baby with us and the management and staff went out of their way to interact with her. So an ordinary weeknight meal was turned into a special occasion because of good food and good service. We are old fans of Rosebud Steakhouse but I think they made new fans in our guests.
Rosebud was very expensive since everything is totally a la carte. The cheapest steak is the 6oz filet mignon and it was $39 with absolutely NO sides. For $10 more you can get chef's plate so it comes with "vegetables" and wedge French fries. My son was going to get the "colossal" baked potato for $11, but decided to settle for the fries and veggies (you cannot pick the veggies, but our waiter assured us they would be good). Our waiter was very nice, but way wrong about assuring us veggies would be good...very odd..one large charred tomatoes and a charred lemon were the chef's choice veggies. My friend ordered the brick chicken which was also around $39, with NO sides, and it was simply HUGE. Waiter should have told us it would feed two or three people. He did in fact, after our meal, inform us he'd only ever seen one person actually finish the chicken. Again, the service was great, waiter was very friendly and he did inform us that we could order things like two half wedge salads to split. Everything (other than the steak) was just too big, and expensive...it'd be much better to have smaller and less expensive portions
