Great experience. Delicious.
Great experience. Food was AMAZING and the service was second to none!!
The atmosphere was casual/formal, but I felt very relaxed and at home. It was a loud environment, don't go here if your looking for quiet restaurant. Waiter took pride in trying to pair a meal to each individual preference. The food was well prepared, very delicious, steaks prepared perfectly. Good portions, well timed service, food was brought out as we ate through the appetizers, meal, and desert. My guests were very impressed by the experience and referenced the restaurant to others as a place to go to when in Chicago...
Great dinner for our group celebrating work success. Filet was outstanding. Our gluten free member had multiple options and was very happy with her meal. Outstanding service and great ambiance. Definitely on the list of do-overs. First time there. We were not disappointed!
steak was excellent, enjoyed the cake we had & great location
Great place. Pricey, but worth it
Great food and service thank you
Dinner reservations made in advance of going to a show downtown. As always, the food was excellent, the service impeccable, and the whole experience memorable. We love this place.
Husband and I attended for his birthday He loved it!!!
This is a neighborhood favorite and a "go to" restaurant that never disappoints. Good food, a warm atmosphere and attentive service.
Absolutely delightful experience. The ambiance was romantic, the service went above and beyond our expectations. The flavors of the scallop appetizer and coconut shrimp appetizer were amazing and the presentation was just as amazing. Our filet was perfect, and broccoli augration was a hit. They know how to make a tasty brandy oldfashion.....or two. Definite must go to. We look forward to going back🍽🔪🥂🥃
I think it was just a off night for the server, but the service was lack luster at best. Hoping for a better experience next time. The food was fabulous though.
Food is amazing and service was great....very noisy and we were jammed together in a very small area, no privacy.
I needed a table for one and it was a nice table, not in a solo corner. Attentive service, good advice to help me with ordering. Very nice pasta and chopped salad. I don't drink wine and the coffee and water service were generous. Dessert wasn't rushed and felt welcome to enjoy. From previous visits I know the wedge salad and burgers are always good, and steaks are their thing. Key Lime pie is good enough to take some home!
We were placed in a small tight corner despite there being many open tables. We had told our waiter this was the first tome at the restaurant. He explained a number of things to us about the specials. After we had been sitting for a while another couple was placed at the table next to us despite it being a table for 4. The table had a different waiter who really took time to explain the menu including appetizers specials etc. We learned so much from overhearing what the other waiter said compared to what little our waiter told us. Overall felt a bit disappointed.
Way too crowd and noisy. The food is just average.
Frank, our server was the best. A friend recommended Rosebud's and we're so glad we went. When in Chicago in the future, this is a restaurant is a must.
I was treating my 95 yea
I brought my 5 year old granddaughter with me for a special dinner for the two of us and they were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. A special cocktail, slider hamburgers and they portioned a dessert for the two of us. I had made an early reservation(6pm) and the restaurant was relatively empty so we were seated in a cozy ,quiet banquette in the back. By the time we left, it was very busy. It was an excellent experience. I would recommend to the restaurant that they should consider having a children's menu . The sliders were perfect but they had 3 on the plate. It would have been more appropriate if they served one or two with a small helping of french fries ,tater tots , vegetables or salad for the same price. By the way, my porterhouse steak was excellent(with more than enough to share if your child eats steak!). A delicious experience on a snowy winter night.
Excellent service, excellent food and well prepared. Huge portions.
Dining at the Rosebud is a must with any trip to Chicago, especially if you love fine food! The steaks are incredible! Having been to steakhouses around the world, I can honestly say I've never found a better steak than at Rosebud. The servers are polite and professional. If the price bothers you then you can always opt to share - the portion sizes are huge. Both your tongue and your tummy will be happy be night's end.
We went to Rosebud for lunch, having had excellent meals at the loop/Dearborn location. This was a different story. The food was strangely not good - and we ordered only salads! - and the service was terrible. Ingredients were not as described on the menu, salad was as if it had been sitting for days, and the dressing was clumpy. The kitchen forgot to add chicken to one salad and it took 15 minutes to correct the mistake. All in all a very disappointing experience.
My partner and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner. I was honestly surprised I was able to book a reservation because it was last-minute. When we arrived around 8, it was very crowded and loud, which I expected for the holiday. We were seated at a small table that was jammed in the corner, but it was almost better that way because it was a little quieter than the rest of the restaurant.
Our waiter was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The wine we ordered was delicious, and our food was OUTSTANDING. My partner ordered the skirt steak with onions and he couldn't stop talking about it. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon with french fries, which was seriously amazing. We were too full for dessert, so we each got a glass of port to finish the night.
We had been hesitant to go out for Valentine's Day because we knew it'd be so hectic, but we had such a good experience here that we were really happy we did. I couldn't recommend this place enough!
They discontinued our 2 faves, the Louie Salad and Banana cream pie...WTF!!! It’s the only reason we go there. Back to RL for their Louie! And, the Sea Bassl was wayyyyyy to fishy...prob frozen, not fresh....sad.
Rosebud's is a super smart well run restaurant. The food is fab, the staff are amazingly helpful, the location is great, the decor is amazing. Try it you wont be disappointed.
The atmosphere the food the service are outstanding and I can’t say enough about rosebud in general but this particular location is way over-the-top plus it’s right next-door to the famous Knickerbocker hotel in Chicago which is an amazing treat not to mention the world-famous Chicago Drake is right next-door as well
The dining and experience inside this particular Rosebud is a major advantage as if you are considering to stay at either one of the hotels that I just mentioned neither one of the hotels could possibly compare to the amazing experience at Rosebud and yet they’re only 25 steps away
Went there with my wife for an early Valentine's day meal. Great food and superb service. Nice and romantic. And since we stayed at the Drake it was steps away. Great time.
As always, another great experience at the Rosebud. My wife and i shared the 12 oz. filet and two sides and it was still a lot of food. The servers are awesome and ready to help or answer any questions.
Great as always
What a delicious meal! I cannot say enough good things. We went there for my birthday. We are from out of stste, SC. The Rosebud was within walking distance of our hotel. I loved everything about our experience. Eddie our server, and his team was GREAT!
Not as good as was about 3 years ago. Signature hamburger a disappointment compared to past.
My daughter and I took my mom to Rosebud for her birthday. The food was outstanding as well as the service. The only thing was the seating . It was a tight fit and my seat was in the main throughway to the kitchen . Other than that it was delicious and excellent !
Very pleasant lunch. The Burger was huge - a true two-hander. Prices were
high, but more affordable due to Chicago's Restaurant Week specials.
To be honest, everything we had was delicious and the service was great - up until the steak.
We requested our steak - a boneless ribeye -to be cooked medium rare and sliced.
It arrived rather rare. Like super red and cold, rare.
When we spoke up to the staff, our waiter disappeared for the next 20 minutes and did not take any responsibility for messing up the highest ticket (and most important) item we had ordered. The Maitre'D ended up taking the plate, throwing it under the broiler to cook it through more, and it returned to our table a little overcooked and the ends were burnt to a crisp. We ate what we could and then left the restaurant.
The remainder of our meal, our waiter avoided us at all costs and no one at the restaurant apologized or tried to make this right by giving us a discount on our $300 bill.
Rosebud, we're highly disappointed considering we had heard you provided great quality steaks and unparalleled service. We wish you had given us a better experience with this meal.
We love your food...salads, steaks, fish, vegetables...it's all great! My palate would prefer that the chopped salad have romaine for the greens...head lettuce is limp and doesn't support the strength of the other vegetables on the plate. The other suggestion is to notify guests of the overwhelming amount of salt on the baked potato...please let the consumer decide with eyes wide open. Thanks!!
Wonderful food terrific service and very nice atmosphere
The ribeye steak was the best i’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and unbelievable flavor. My wife’s filet was cooked to perfection. Due to traveling 3-4 days a week for business throughout the country, I’m forced to eat out often. Brandon our waiter provided the best service I can ever remember. Most waite staff due a good job but Brandon went out of his way to make our visit memorable. Great dinner experience.
The food was great and the service was excellent per usual. A fun date night spot when we’re ready to spend a little extra for the amazing experience.
We had been to Rosebud Steakhouse in the past, and had enjoyed our experiences. This time was different. We went for lunch, and there were only 4 tables occupied. It felt like a ghost town. Service was very slow, which is not what you would expect with so few patrons to serve. We both had their "Best burger in Chicago" as the waiter boasted. The burgers were fine, but we've had better. No condiments were served. We had to ask twice before we were given any. Also, when we ordered, the waiter asked if we wanted fries, even though we ordered a different side dish. The menu said the burgers came with one side dish. When we reminded him of that, he insisted that fries also came with the burgers. I still declined the fries, but my wife said she would have some. When the burgers came, she did not get her fries. When we asked about it, the waiter said we were only entitled to one side. Incredible! He reluctantly brought her some fries, and said it would not be the case in the future. The waiter was very chatty with the customers at the table next to us. He rambled on with us as well, but when we needed something, he was standing up at the bar. In all, it was a disappointing lunch. It's too bad, as we live just a few blocks away, and frequently dine out in the area. Based on this experience though, we'll be in no hurry to return.
