About Rosebud Italian Specialties & Pizzeria
Rosebud Italian Specialties & Pizzeria provides an innovative perspective on traditional Italian cuisine with a chef driven, weekly changing menu, focusing on regional dishes and fresh ingredients. In addition to Rosebud classics including Chicken Vesuvio and Square Noodles which are staples on the menu, thin crust, Chicago-style pizzas smothered in an assortment of toppings are a fresh addition. Pies are large enough for a table to share as an appetizer, encouraging guests to savor the flavors and one another’s company before indulging in a second course. The goal is to present two distinct dining options, a more casual, family friendly pizzeria offering carry-out as well as a white tablecloth dining room where pizzas are served in addition to the weekly menu. The energetic atmosphere throughout both spaces is casual rustic Italian with striking hardwood floors, a Stone Pizza Oven, and an Antipasto Bar, providing an ideal atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing meal.

Rosebud Italian Specialties & Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
Great Food and Service... but sitting in the 'back room' was very disappointing. We were sat away from the main dining room in what can only be described as a last minute add on to throw a few more tables onto the floor. The main issue was the noise. There were only 4 tables in the room, but the layout of the room amplified everyone conversation to the point that we had to yell across the table to hear ourselves.
My husband and I enjoyed an evening out to view the lovely Christmas lights of Naperville. We enjoyed dinner first at Rosebud which has the best square noodles and eggplant parmigiano in the area in our opinion. I was a bit disappointed that they no longer make the rolled eggplant which was so delicious. We met at the previous Rosebud 14 yrs. years ago and have been together ever since!
Made the mistake of going here on s Saturday night, very crowded. Clearly my wife and I were out for a nice dinner. We are sat against the wall with a group of 12 on one side and a group of 8 on the other. Needless to say we could barely hear each other. The food is good but a bit over priced. I’d go back during the week perhaps.
We had reservations and weren't seated for 35 minutes after, and then near the front door with people waiting for tables. We were bumped by wait staff trying to get between tables. Our waiter seemed to be rushed didn't take orders properly & after dinner we weren't offered coffee or dessert. Seemed liked they wanted out table and could care less about us. Never again on a Saturday until they learn how to take reservations appropriately.
This restaurant is very busy and noisy. So many people were waiting for their tables and crammed in the small entryway. We had a reservation and waited 20 minutes. $93.00 ( with tip) for pasta and one salad. Draft beers were $7.00. Come on! We don’t feel a need to return.
We love this restaurant but had a terrible waitress, had 5:30p reservations. When I mentioned she missed my drink order, it was like we were at an abuse restaurant. It took 1 hour to get our food, while several tables seated after us got there food and left. She told us she would split our salads and was nowhere to be found when they were delivered. Once food was finally delivered my pizza was actually cold and tasted like leather. She then came by and hassled me and asked my wife why she would marry me. Then asked each couple what makes a good marriage, WHAT??? We asked for two separate bills, received a bill including both parties. Finally found her and asks to spilt the checks. She brought them back split, then disappeared. We needed to get to a concert. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked another waitress if she could take our bill. She brought it to our waitress and she eventually came back to the table next to us with two drinks (with our checks) and proceed to talk with them for several minute. I told her we were in a hurry and 5 minutes later she cam back with final bill. Not the service or food we are used to from this restaurant .
We arrived several minutes before our reserved time & were told it would be a 35 minute wait. Why do they take reservations then?
We went to the bar. A lite beer & a cranberry juice/vodka cost $17!!
We got called 20 min after our reservation time. The place is quite noisy. The server seemed overwhelmed but cheerful. She was slow to get to us to take our order, slow to bring our wine...we were next to a bar and a server’s area.
We will never recommend this place. It’s overpriced for average food and below par service.
we used open table to reserve a spot at Rosebud during the last couple of months. in one instance we waited 30 minutes beyond our reservation time; in the other instance we waited an hour beyond our reservation time. we won't be visiting Rosebud anytime soon.
I heard everyone rave of this place for years. The wine was good. No ambiance and overly cramped space. They don’t even give pagers for reservations. I had open table reservation got there before reservation and they said it would be 30 min which was 45 min wait. Plus then they have this poor gal who goes around screaming your name trying to find you. It’s super loud. The pasta was below average. The wine we got was wonderful.
I won’t be back. Much rather go to the other high end Italian place in town there’s no comparison. I have no idea why this place is so popular
Food was not great for a Rosebud restaraunt. Service was just ok, we had to ask other servers to get our server to get another drink. The manager was rude, rolled his eyes and told us he needed our table. We were there for an hour when they tried to rush us out. We will never go back to that Rosebud location again.
Booked a 7 PM Saturday reservation for our anniversary celebration. Were told upon arrival that it would be a 25 minute wait "because people were staying at their tables longer than expected." One table for two was at the edge of the lobby next to the exit door. We not very happily took the table and ate our meal with people standing next to us waiting for a table. Restaurant professionals should not be caught by surprise and should not be accepting new reservations or seatings so close to booked reservations. We felt like we ate at a train station and, frankly, will not return again. And of course there was no followup by wait staff or management to ask about the special occasion indicated on the reservation. The whole experience was just really lame. Food was OK and overpriced. Side of pasta came 10 minutes after the main entree was served. Wine was $10 per glass for house variety and got a half full glass. If they only pour a certain number of ounces then use a smaller glass to at least make you feel like you got your money's worth. There are many other Italian restaurants in Naperville so we will not be returning to Rose Buds.
Husband and I just moved to Naperville from Chicago and were happy to see a familiar face on the dining scene. We love the Rosebud restaurants in the city. Food was yummy. This is an odd complaint but the service was almost too fast. I understand the restaurant wants to turn tables on a Saturday night but we were in and out within 40 minutes and as a result, hardly finished our entrees because there wasn't time for our apps to settle. I take the blame, next time we will take more time between ordering our apps and entrees.
