   Great menu with a variety of appetizers, salads, steaks, pastas, chicken a veal. The bruschetta was great - lots of toppings. The cavatelli was fantastic. I had chicken Marsala - a whole breast with lots of mushrooms and sauce. The side of penne had a seasoned tomato sauce with pieces of fresh tomato. We had cocktails, tasty and good amount of liquor. Then we tried Italian ice cream- 2 large scoops to share! After teaching in Firenze(Florence) for 5 summers, I want authentic Italian. Rosebud Rossetti Italian is the only choice in the loop; others are mediocre and too American.

   Though our server was attentive, we felt rushed during the meal (especially odd given that it was Thursday 5:00, a slow time). Our booth was nice, but the overhead speaker played loud music that certainly didn't suit the restaurant. Food was fine, yet didn't meet the expectations preset by the prices; eggplant salad & cavatelli were excellent. You have to request the "bread service"... skip it! Just some thin crusty slices & a few twisted sesame breadsticks served with grated romano & olive oil.

    We made reservations on OpenTable for dinner before going to the theatre. We were seated quickly and our drinks and order was taken quickly. Drinks arrived and appetizer with no silverware provided. We had to grab some off another table. 45 minutes later we have no check in from our waitress, and food hasn't arrived. I spoke to the front desk because we are running out of time. Our food comes out, obviously its been sitting under the heat lamp for a while and we get a refill on on drinks. But again NO silverware and no staff around to provide them. I find a porter who is nice enough to get us silverware. The manager stops and asks how thing are and I explain our problem, we now have 15 min to have dinner before our show. I'm disappointed we don't have time to eat let alone dessert. Manager offers to comp dessert, which we can't stay for and can't bring it into a theatre. the Naperville location has such great service, this was such a disappointment. We had our reservations so we had over an hour for dinner before needing to leave. We paid $150 for warmed food that was chewy because it obviously sat and that we had to rush to eat to make our show. So very disappointing.

    The food was very very good. They only made one error when they delivered the wrong meal to one in our party. It was immediately corrected. The entire evening was enjoyable.

    The pasta needed to be cooked a bit more. Considering the price of a lunch meal, we would have expected some type of bread basket while we waited for our food. The waiter was wonderful, however.

    Was looking forward to eating a Rosebud restaurant again. Rosetta didnt disappoint. Lunch menu was varied and all very reasonably priced. Had to get a pasta (ribbon noodles with Bolognese) which was perfectly cooked and tasted great. Cant wait to go back.

    Very simple...Rosebud's has outstanding Italian food in the city...had the cavatelli ( which is more Gnocchi than Cavatelli) and was outstanding...would recommend Rosebud's while in the Windy City.

    Went to dinner here before the theater. Our waitress was very accommodating; insuring we had a food/bill in time for us to make it to the show. Food was great! There were 4 of us so split a salad, pasta and a meat entree. Perfect amount of food and very tasty! We all said we would go back again. Great pre- theater location.

    We were running late for our reservation because of weather. I called and they were very gracious about waiting. The chicken parmesan was more than one person could eat. Unfortunately we were going to a play afterwards and couldn't take the leftovers. Manager came around checking on the food/service and jumping in wherever needed. Service was excellent.

    The food was very tasty and delicious. I got a nice portion size for lunch during Restaurant Week. The restaurant was clean. The server was good. The only minor comment I have is they didn't offer or tell you about the prix fixe menu for restaurant week. The server didn't tell me about the specials.     We are so glad to see a new Rosebud Restaurant in place of Rosebud Prime. We were sad when it was closed down. The menu is extensive. Be sure to ask for the dinner menu if you don't happen to see what you want on three lunch menu. There were quite a few lunch specials, including a restaurant week menu the day we dined. Gabrielle, our waitress, was very knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer our questions. The short-rib over polenta was outstanding. The scallops over asparagus risotto was delicious. The lobster bisque was decadent and some of the best I've tasted. The arancini were huge and overflowing with gooey cheese. My only complaint was I could have used more sauce for the arancini. We'll definitely be back.

    I was excited to try Rosebud Rosetta Italian for Restaurant Week, but I definitely will not return. They didn't seem to want diners to know they were participating in Restaurant Week as I had to ask for the menu. Once our server knew we were ordering from that menu, they could not get us out the door quicker. We were ushered out in under an hour. Food - fine, not good. Service - server didn't seem to know the menu and never fully answered any of our questions. Plates were cleared as we were still taking our last bites of every course. Staff repeatedly bumped into my chair. It was a terrible experience.

    We went there before seeing a show downtown. We were seated right away and ordered pretty quickly. We only ordered soups and salads since we wouldn’t be able to bring left overs to the show. The soups came out quickly. After waiting a while, our server brought us the desert menu since she thought we were already served. We told her we hadn’t got our salads yet. She may have forgotten to put it in because I saw her go to the computer to enter in the rest of the order. No big deal, things happen. Another 20 or so minutes passed we still were not served nor have we seen our server. We asked another server to check on it because at this point is had been 45 min since we ordered. Our server came to check on us but she had an attitude that we asked another server about our order. She said the kitchen was backed up which I understand can happen but they were not that busy and again we had ordered salads. I was overall really disappointed especially because I had heard so many good things.

    Thur 1:15pm business lunch, seated promptly. Food & service was okay. However there was a huge problem with Gnats. Continuous swatting them away was most irritating! Afterwards it was explained that the restaurant had a flood. Disappointing dining experience.
