My husband and I made reservations for Sat. night and felt the table we were given was less than special for a reserved table. It was that crowded when we arrived so a nicer table probably could have been given. The room was a little loud for a romantic dinner. The food was ok. The waitress was slow and kind of annoying. Overall, our experience was less than average.
We ordered the mac and cheese
Briket and chicken were left most of the food behind . brisket was more like over cooked sandwich meat. Chicken was over cooked with to much sauce on it. Mac and cheese had a strong test of blue cheese but wasnt made with any. My self and our guessed we came with were very unhappy. Asked about mix drinks they were over charged for the 2 cocktail. The server was either pushy with stuff or ignored our party completely. We won't be be back. The 2 side we order were very Good mushrooms and brushul sports.
Service was slow- we had to ask for our server on multiple occasions to get her attention.
Our party of four ate at Rose and Thorn for Valentine’s Day dinner and enjoyed it a great deal. The food was great, the ladies appreciated the gift of a rose they received. The only drawback we experienced was that one of our entrees arrived 10 minutes after the other three were served.
Not everything on the menu was available (halibut). Steaks not cooked as ordered.
great service. menu has changed. All 4 of party was impressed
This was a terrible restaurant would never go back , to expensive for what you get and the food was was terrible.
Great place food always good. Noise level pretty high. There was a table of 30 that they tried to sit is by. Asked for another table away from noise. Wish lighting was a little lower for better ambiance.
Our waiter Gerome was a kick in the pants..........and very professional!
Thank you! I shared your lovely compliments with Jerome and the rest of our staff! Cheers!
Our party of four enjoyed great food and service. The portions were generous, the menu varied enough to satisfy our diverse tastes and dietary restrictions, the food excellent. The service was very welcoming. We all agreed that it was a great value and we will return. The only negative comment was that the lighting was too bright but we were eating an early dinner and the lights did dim around 6:00 PM.
Thank you so much for the great compliments! I also enjoy it better when the lights are dimmer in the Atrium. Cheers!
The beef trip I ordered was so so. Not very flavorful.Price is a bit high. Service is good.
The food and service were terrific. We sat in the back dining room which was big and open and lacked character. Too bad because the front bar & booths were very warm and inviting looking. Despite the lack of charm we all enjoyed our meals and the diversity of the menu.
For a holiday buffet of $45, could hv been better, e.g., chafing dishes had old stuffing, no salmon at times; desserts appeared to be store-bought and not very tasty, except for apple crumble crunch; coffee was available, no soda pop?? Pork loin was overcooked and tough; where were prawns as with many holiday buffets?? service by Jerome was great. Don't think I would do again next THanksgiving for the price.
The food was excellent!! Compliments to all your chefs. We will definitely plan our Thanksgiving meal there next year.
Leticia our server was great!!
The Thanksgiving feast was amazing. Jane provided service that was spot on. Our daughter and son-in-law also enjoyed the dinner.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was delicious and presentation was delightful. The atmosphere was quaint and romantic. The aroma left my mouth watering! Service was excellent and we were well informed! The experience of fine dining at the Rose and Thorn was amazing! Thank you! Will tell all my friends!
I had made reservations and added a note that it was my husbands birthday. It went unacknowledged. Maybe you don’t usually do anything “special”. But if I had known I wouldn’t even had said anything in my reservation. Other than that, food was great, server was great and attentive
The charcuterie board is thesis than desirable as it contained basic luncheon meat. The other menus items were well prepared and tasty.
Birthday Dinner for my daughter
We loved it and will be back ! Amazing food and great ambiance.
We had reservations at 5:30 and didn't get seated until almost 6. The service was ok until our food didn't show up and we had to ask for it. We were attending a concert at 7:00 and our food did arrive until 6:50. We had just cancelled our order and were getting ready to leave when they brought everything out. They were apologetic but didn't offer a discount on the bill or next visit. The best thing about it was the good was pretty great. I ordered steak and it was a great portion. However, my husband had salmon and it was tiny! For the price, totally not worth it. We will not be going back.
We arrived an hour and a half early for a concert at the casino, it took over an hour to get our food, 3 Caesar salads, And a vegetable dish...I was trying to cancel our order as it was being served to the table, we were then late for the concert.... worst service I have had in very long time... we were at a concert there 3 days earlier and it was the best experience just eating at the self service taco place there.... won’t go to rose and thorn again..
We got seated quickly and placed our order but it did take a while to get our food even though the place was mostly empty. The server forgot our drink as well. I'm guessing it was the end of her shift because she informed us that anyone with a badge could help us and then she disappeared for the rest of the evening. We were know never checked on again until much later when the guy from behind the bar finally checked on us. Food was okay but nothing note worthy. Probably won't be coming back.
Very nice little restaurant with good service and great food.
Food was awesome but the server was barely around & had an attitude toward our questions about being able to make it on time to a show at the venue. Maybe understaffed or a bad night but it kept us from enjoying dinner which we had 20 minutes to eat when it finally showed up. Worth a second visit.
Service was slow due to concert. Waitress seemed uneducated to menu and frazzled. Food took over 1 HR and lobster was tough and flavorless. Other food was good. But was overall disappointed. New menu is very expensive.
From making reservations to the food everything was great. As for ambiance, the back where we sat was wide open, lots of windows, but do to the white it felt very cold (could have been the rainstorm) Food was really good, and I didn't feel it was over priced for the amount we received. Great server!
I was a little disappointed as we arrived early got seated right away for our 5pm reservation. But then we placed our drink orders and the first 3 drinks we chose they were out of ingredients to make them so had to get something else. And no blended drinks either. Really? In a full service bar and restaurant and on a night where there was a comedy show? Dinner was good. Halibut excellent. Saffron rice-yuck! Don’t order it. Fingerling potatoes were over done. Crab Copilini was good. New York steak was also good. Service was good. We’ll go again to give a fair chance.
I ordered the strip steak medium and it came out medium rare. The server apologized, and with no hesitation immediately corrected quickly. I appreciate the attentiveness to the matter and getting the steak heated up and back to the table with no frustrations on my part.
Awesome food as always! Try the wild mushroom pizza..my 2 guests who were newbies to R&T were still raving the next day how delicious it was 😁👍
Service was outstanding! Food was outstanding! Parking can be a bit of a challenge on the weekend.
My advice is park in valet!
birthday celebration for our girls. we had a blast. food quality is great and the variety of menu as time passes. dessert is fabulous.
The prices are a little high for what you get but the food is good.
Our space that was reserved was great! It was in the back, behind a curtain and was perfect for this special occasion. The service from the staff was great as well. I believe the only area of improvement would be the food. Our appetizer (Bruschetta) was cold, bread not toasted, way too much oil, and just ended up being very soggy and not good. The entrees seemed better, no one liked the mashed potatoes served with the steak, however no strong complaints either.
The food and service was very good, however the ambience leaves something to be desired. Very much cafeteria like feeling. They need some plants and hang down type lights. Very stark and cold.
We were initially put off by the cavernous dining room, it had all the atmosphere of a mall food court. An odd combination of booths and patio furniture. We decided to give it a try regardless. Our waitress was terrific, friendly and efficient. We had delicious Manhattans and things quickly improved. Our food was really good: tri-tip steak and a smoked chicken. Large portions at a good value. Dessert was inventive. That makes us recommend the food, but we wish the room was more attractive. Who wants to look out at the parking lot?
The food was reasonable and a fair price, but the drinks were very expensive compared to other restaurants around. The chicken parm was tasty with a pretty large portion for $16, but they they smothered it in tomato paste and way overcooked egg plant. The 'crispy' gnocchi was just 10 pieces and smothered in the tomato paste. Surprisingly quite for a Saturday evening on 4th of July weekend. Really confused if they are a romantic dining restaurant or a sports bar.
Not impressed with service or food, our waiter had no idea about any specials that I asked about and told me they do not have happy hour on Saturdays. Well I knew that and it was Sunday, so he had to go ask a manager. The waiter also took my plate of with a couple bites of food left while I was still eating it. We went to a different restaurant in the casino afterwards for dessert and drinks and had a much better experience.
Not sure if I would recommend Rose & Thorn. Waiter was very good and nice. Best food was the fried gnocci. We did not appreciate a scattering of other employees coming up to where we were seated-only 2 tables there-to get a water pitcher. Really? No other place to keep it.
Not on special occasions as Fathers Day. We made reservations on line, confirmed on line and requested a special table. Once we arrived the hostess informed us that the table was assigned to another customer by mistake and we were un aware of the buffet and no opportunity ordering off their regular menu items.. Extremely busy ,noise levels too high and the food was horrible at 11:30am. The vegs. were over cooked and greasy, the salads were too warm, the prime rib was very tough, we waited over twenty
mins. to get a refill on coffee /ice tea. The price for the quality of food was very unacceptable. We were so disappointed!
