Rosa’s Vinarium is a new concept in Italian wines culture that we are introducing to Sandwich. A refined establishment where one can sip canapés simple fresh food as cheese and meat board, bruschette, parma ham, fresh buffalo mozzarella accompanied if you desire by one or more type of our fine imported Italian wines, apart tasting our Italian prosecco.
Rosa’s Vinarium (vinarium from the Latin for wine storage) will offer the opportunity to peruse our wine library and sample products from our extensive stock. Customers may purchase bottles to take away, or just enjoy the odd glass in our interior designed setting.
We have kept the name Rose’s (with a nod to its Italian translation Rosa) to reflect the proud history of this elegant building, where we will continue to incorporate many of the existing and much loved features.
We booked for 6pm and got a confirmation email, but when we showed up the place was shut.
Would love to leave a review BUT...why allow us to book a table when the restaurant isn't open?!
We booked online for Sunday evening and was sent the confirmation, however after we drove over from Margate imagine our disappointment to find it was closed. You need to get your website sorted to say you are closed on Sunday evenings.
We left a note in the door, but haven’t even had an apology.
3 very annoyed ladies
My friend recommended this resaturant as she said the food was very tasty and behold it was, the dish I had anyway. Service was polite and friendly and pleasing to the eye.
Another fantastic Saturday lunch with great service from Valerio as always. Such a jewel of a restaurant.
This restaurant is authentic and wonderful in excellent in every way
A little known gem to seek out in Sandwich. If it were down the road in Deal it would be packed out for its ambience, good service,Italian food and fine wines.
Sadly the listed building which makes dining here so characterful would be left behind !
We where disappointed with the service on this occasion, we arrived 15 mins before our booked time and we where made to feel awkward we waited close to half an hour and in this time did not get the opportunity to order a drink, it was busy and understand but to be honest if you have a drink and updates it would have helped.
Our table was for 20:15 we didn't get seated until 20:30 then it was about 20:45 before we could order a drink!! The food was not ready until 21:30 ........
It is a great place and we have enjoyed before but this has changed our opinion and feel reluctant to recommend given this experience.
Good Luck!!
I have visited this Italian style venue before, and found it very pleasant. On Saturday last I booked on line with Open Table. When I arrived the reception looked awkward, they were busy, and did not know of our booking and asked us when and how etc. Waited, standing, for ten minutes. Then we were shown a table, quite roomy and nicely laid with cloth, while we waited, and looked very nice. We quickly realised that for two people serving and preping and pooring drinks and cooking, for a fullish house, appx 30 covers etc, it was a handful operation, but the two fellows did it calmly, and slowly, and got it done very nicely, and we enjoyed it all.
The food was plain Italian style, and enjoyable. Wine was reasonably priced, and our total was good value. Any short fall on the service was easily compensated by the lovely interior and tasteful experience.
"Very lovely", as my friend's husband would say ...... we enjoyed our evening ...
The evening (with friends who are not from the area) was extremely successful. The ambience and standard of food were wonderful. In reproducing the atmosphere of an Italian bistro/restaurant Rosa's has got it "spot on". There is nothing like it in the Sandwich area and you simply cannot beat it for authenticity. My wife and I have been several times before and the standard of everything was as excellent as we have previously experienced. We would make this our No.1 choice for an evening out with discerning friends who appreciate the quality of what is on offer. Congratulations and well done.....we'll be back soon !
Small venue but a great atmosphere, the food was exceptional and the service was good. Need some work on their booking system, we had booked and had our table others came in for a drink and no place for a casual drink although some table's set for 6 had 2 on it . Also had tables empty waiting for next customers but some people chose to play musical tables to have opportunity for a drink
Great authentic food. Incredibly good value. Lovely decor. No rush. Love it
We have been here several times and always really enjoy the ambience of this very attractive and quintessentially Italian wine bar/restaurant. Its stylish and welcoming, the food is simple the choice is fairly limited but its always beautifully prepared and extremely tasty. The staff are charming and helpful. If you are a fan of all things Italian then Rosa's is the perfect spot.
excellent meal and service, lovely pasta and wine, relax and enjoy the evening, only pasta on menu but thats what we want,
This is surely a hidden gem in Sandwich. The decor and atmosphere is lovely - and very relaxing. It's very Italian in a genuine way. I also like the Italian wines they choose which tend to not come from the large wine producing areas but a more niche.
I was surprisingly disappointed with the food at this visit. We chose two courses off the daily menu - but the starters were rather unappealing in appearance, and the traditional Easter pasta (Pizza de pasta con pancetta) was rather solid and tasteless. However I've normally really enjoyed food here so I'll try again.
The olives are really nice. And please start offering bread as part of the regular setting.
Thoroughly enjoyed the venue. The staff were attentive and the food freshly prepared. We all loved the food which was memorable. Ambience perfect. Thank you Karen from Deal for the recommendation. Looking forward to our next visit there.
Beautiful setting with excellent service and ambiance. Authentic rustic Italian food and great wine.
Loved it so much we visited twice in a week
A new venue so the word is not out yet. it was a new experience good service really good food .
I was on my own no other customers as it has only just opened in Sandwich Kent.
Hidden from the main streets .
Fabulous food and great food. Limited menu but that is a positive as it is all freshly produced. Quite quiet on a Sunday afternoon but I would imagine the atmosphere is great when full.
Had a lovely meal here with my wife on Friday lunchtime. Glad I booked because it was pretty much full. The waiter was very attentive and informative about ingredients and wine. Simple Italian food, but very tasty. Very impressed, we'll be back.
I have family in Sandwich so met up for lunch. My Brother is elderly and needs a certain amount of care on the spot, so this Restaurant was ideal. There is space and comfort, and a simple plat du jour. The management are discreet and attentive. It is strictly Italian, with the pasta and nice simple sauces, salads and mixed salami and prosciutto, and so on. Wine at reasonable prices.
The ambiance is a mix of baroque and Italian tile kitchen. Chandeliers and heavy sofas alongside, and at the back, so it is possible, as did my Brother, to slip on to a sofa for a short snooze after lunch. I hope this Restaurant can make it in Sandwich, if you can make it in Sandwich you can make it anywhere.
Great way to end the working week - bottle of wine and tapas. Lovely atmosphere.
A nice evening with good atmosphere. We feel that if the prices were a little lower then this would attract more customers.
Lovely Italian wine bar/restaurant. Delicious food options that go perfectly with a chosen wine. Would like to see a few more options of wine by the glass to be able to taste a few different Italian wines.
Spent a very pleasant couple of hours with chums lovely food and a few drinks
Will be back soon ~ Thank You
It felt very relaxing and the service was really good, next time we will stay longer as we had already planned to go on somewhere else to eat. Will definitely recommend to friends and will definitely return .
Good wines great food and friendly staff and host, warm atmosphere.
I booked a table through open table only to be told that the table was not available in by the restaurant. So did not have the opportunity to use the restaurant
Took my husband here for an anniversary meal without realising it was a wine bar with food, rather than a restaurant with wine. Disappointed to find that the hot platters had been stopped, but the cold charcuterie platter was really good and the selection of wine was extensive, though a bit pricey. The staff were friendly and had arranged a really great table for us, the ambience was lively so I'd say a good spot for a glass or two, but not necessarily a place for dinner.
Great place to have a drink and to eat . Small venue but very friendly. Food very good and service excellent. Definitely will be going back !
