Every time I’ve gone there I have the best experience. I considered it the best on Taylor St.
I miss it the restaurant dearly
Will miss this place. So sad to see it closing.
A great neighborhood find. The food is made to order, everything is fine. As a previous restaurant owner I would recommend this to anyone.
We will miss you!!
Will truly miss this Taylor Street mainstay. Always wonderful food and a great time.
Always outstanding. How we will miss this place😪😪
Great food, friendly staff, big portions. Sad to know it’s closing soon.
Restaurant has changed from its illustreous past. Veal was very tough. Eggplant Parmigan was a thick tasteless glob. Salmon was oversalted.
It's good they are closing. No loss to Chicago Italian cooking.
We are among those who regret learning of Joe’s retirement next month.
This place is a GEM! My family of four had dinner here on Saturday night and each of was in awe. Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was even better. Linda seated us and immediately treated us like family. She gave us a brief history on the restaurant and was also helpful in answering all of our questions about the menu selections. She is great at her job and very personable.
Our group had the: Ravioli, Gnocchi Vodka Cream, Chicken Rosal’s and the Sicilian Fried Spaghetti. All I can say is WOW…just WOW. We’ve had a lot of Italian food throughout our lives, but this ranked up there as some of the best! We all tried each other’s dishes because everyone was bragging about how good their food was. We also tried a medley of desserts: canoli, tiramisu and oreo pie. They were amazing as well.
The chef, Anival, came out to greet us and was so nice and humble at our compliments. At the end of the night, we were having trouble with our Uber app, so the owner helped and called us a cab. We chatted with him and found out he is a Navy Veteran…22 years of service to our country! He stayed and chatted with us while waiting for our ride and treated us as family.
As other reviews mention, this place is not huge…but we loved the intimate family feel of it. I believe there is an upstairs as well, but we didn’t go up to check it out. This place is a definite must-go…and we will definitely be back. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation to be safe.
Thanks to all of the staff for such a great evening for my family. Kudos!!!
Huge portions but flavor was very so so. I would prefer that they develop the flavors more instead of serving such an enormous amount of food. I’m not sure if it’s all homemade from the waiter’s description of the dishes. I was expecting a quaint spot with more emphasis on quality. Not the case here.
First time here!
Authentic Italian cuisine with a nice wine list.
Pastas are home made and delicious!
We'll be back for sure!
Wait staff was excellent and the chef was very friendly. This was the third time we have been to this restaurant. Though it’s been a few years. The food was not up to par for the prices being charged. Veal was tough & chewy. Definitely over cooked. Arabiata sauce was tasteless and watery. Portion sizes were big, but lacked flavor. I don’t think we will be going back....
The fried ravioli was excellent with some of the best sauce ever. The veal parm and veal picatta were both tender and flavorful.
This is a great family owned and operated. The food is exceptional. It's a small comfortable
place to enjoy a good meal made to order. You are sometimes visited at your table by the owner
who also does the cooking. Just a great place to eat and enjoy, I go there as often as I can.
First time dining at RoSal's, really enjoyed the food. I would go back, they had a lot of appetizer's on the menu and really would love to make a meal out of all appetizer, they all looked so good!
The menu offers plenty of selections. The food was very authentic. Seating could be somewhat tight, depending on the crowd.
We had a nice time- attentive service, good portions. Everybody liked their entree. We weren't crazy about the app we chose, which was "fried ravioli." It was just ravioli in a heavy cream sauce. Maybe we didn't read the description, but expected something more crispy with a red sauce. But the overall experience was fine.
Everyone’s meals were well prepared with a nice presentation.
I love RoSal’s! The food and service are always fantastic. Such a great friendly fam owned place and I love that it is a small neighborhood gem!!!!
Amazing service from Linda, as always! Great food and felt like i was in my nonna's kitchen again.
We had a great dinner and we left with a ton of left-overs. GF pasta was an extra charge, but whatever...
Awesome. Great service and food
Joe and Linda are marvelous hosts. Truly a quaint and authentic family restaurant geared toward pleasing the pallet. Would do it again in a heartbeat
We didn't know exactly what to expect and definitely had a great dinner. First off, there is no valet parking, we were lucky that there meters just down the street a little so no issue for us. Big too, sit upstairs, it is quiet and no worries about cold air coming on. Our waiter was great and the wine is priced reasonably. We have the fried ravioli, very good but be aware it is not St Louis style. The Fried Spaghetti was very good and the Gnocchi was good as well. The portions are very big so you don't leave hungry, definitely a good place if you are going to see something at the United Center
Our favorite in the Chicago area for more than 3 decades!
First time here and we will be back! We all loved it!
amazing ! truly authentic. we came in right has they opened. in fact 5 min before. they opened the door for us right away and didnt make us wait in the cold. kitxhen is super tiny but the food tht comes outnof there is truly authentic and you get a ton for the price u pay! the bread was cruchy on the outside soft on the inside . perfecto
Best place in Little Italy. I've been going for years!
Everything was fantastic!!!!
Had a great time, food, drink atmosphere was just great!!
One of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago. Huge selection of food.
The owner Joe is always so friendly and down to earth. Food is good. Good service too. I ordered the veal stepanjohnno.
Food was no good and not evenly remotely authentic Italian. Expectations were way too high heading in.
I’ve been going to RoSal’s for over 8 years and have yet to be disappointed once. The owner/chef is very personable and takes pride in his dishes which is why I continue to come back time and time again. Perfect for date night or dinner with friends.
This is my third time dining at Rosal’s and I am never disappointed. The owner is very nice and the service is great. My recommendation for Italian.
We had a wonderful meal with appetizers and good selection of wine. Service was very good and food was excellent.
Always excellent. Delicious authentic Italian food in Chicago’s Little Italy. Family owned restaurant is quaint & charming. Great value. Large portions are perfect to share.
Unbelievablely fabulous desserts - so best to leave room for afternoon treat.
Friendly service with fantastic food. They treat you like family. Red sauce and white sauce are unique and perfect. If you want a special ingredient, you simply ask and they will make substitutions. Fried Ravioli appetizer is incredible.
We rave about the food and service EVERY TIME we go there.
Outstanding, as usual
Best Italian restaurant in Chicago. Always greeted and treated as one of the family. The food is amazing....so many favorites....shrimp ala Anival, rigatoni gambini, portabella chicken. Don't even get me started on the fried ravioli appetizer, I dream about it!
Great place, I've brought so many friends and business colleagues here. It truly is a gem of a place in the "heart" of Little Italy <3
