The food and everything Was beautiful when will your hours change to be open late
Great guacamole and salsa. Always interesting and flavorful special items on the menu. Great to see a new Vegetarian/Vegan menu selection!
Tableside guac is amazing, drinks and entrees extremely missable
Good food. I am on a low salt diet and this is not the restaurant that can accommodate it. A lot of items are pre prepared.
Very good place for date night. Staff was friendly and food delicious.
Loved the pomegranate margaritas - a bit too loud though
Waited 25 minutes to get water . Another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Very loud experience
Trying to have dinner with 5 kids and 4 adults can be really hard. The staff was lovely and our otherwise picky kids actually ate. Home run for four tired parents who otherwise only associated Rosa Mexicano with our Pre kids days. Wonderful dining experience 10/10 recommend.
Before the Pandemic, I was a frequent customer. The food was great and the portions were good. Not anymore. My enchiladas were half filled ,fish portions very small & margaritas weak
Meal was a late lunch, sort of between shifts. Food was excellent as always. Place looks great, open plan and high ceilings make it feel airy and spacious. Will be back soon for more of the rich and flavorful food, and of course, the margaritas.
I had the Chili Rellano with Impossible sausage. I doubt there was even 1/3 of a sausage on the open pepper. It was served cut open, not stuffed, with a tablespoon or two of quinoa that was quite bland. All in, it was disappointing. On the other hand, the guacamole was its usual terrific self.
The service was excellent . Food was delicious .
Awesome experience!! Food was devine. Best by far in New York!!
The best in its category, Rosa has it all, the choice of food, the quality is excellent, the drinks, cocktails are top choice. The service is very good. The food is delicious. really the best in town.
Go instead to the Rosa Mexicano that is near Lincoln Center. This one has bad service and inferior food. I ordered a specific dish from the brunch menu: Huevos con Queso which according to the menu, includes Sunny side up eggs with either ham or chorizo. After waiting a long time, I was brought scrambled eggs with potatoes. I said that it was not what I ordered. After a while, the waiter then brought me over easy eggs, with no ham or chorizo... Don't put something on the menu if the cook (I won't call him/her a "chef") is not able or willing to make it. Then the waiter disappeared and I had to chase a hostess to be able to pay and leave... Disappointing. We have been faithful Rosa Mexicano patrons since 1984 when they opened on First avenue. Very sad.
Rosa Mexicano is great!! The food was delicious and the drinks were great! It is INCREDIBLY noisy. If you are going with a big party (as I did) and are seated at a round table, it is incredibly difficult, if not nearly impossible to have a conversation with the person across the table from you because it is so noisy in the restaurant. But overall, the service was great, the menu is great and has a lot of options and I enjoyed my experience!
Food was amazing and service was great. Our waitress Natalia was amazing and made sure everything was perfect. I will definitely be going back.
Margarita wasn’t good and it wasn’t taken off the bill. Waiter said we would be charged the happy hour price but charged the full price.
It was amazing
Room is cavernous and loud. Didn't much enjoy my meal. My date complained that the women's room was filthy.
Everything was great! Will be back!
Delicious food and drinks, great service and lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
Great food and extra friendly service.
It’s a Mexican Restaurant and they played Cuban music all night. Not a single Mexican song. We went there to celebrate México’s Independence Day, they didn’t even know it was that they
Great food and service
Had a great time. Sat outside. Great food and service.
Nice to be back! Hard not to Have a good meal and time.
Loved the great food, vibe and service. Excellent location for celebrations. The frozen margaritas were delicious and salted just right.
We were seated in your back dining room (I have been many times and never was placed there before) and it was such a different experience. I felt like i was out with all these 20 year olds and it felt like a cafeteria. Then going to the bathrooms from that location, the stairs are VERY DARK and I fell and sprained my ankle and two waiters literally walked over me while I had fallen on all fours and I had to go to the doctors and I’m in a brace/cast:boot thingy. That was a bummer bc the food and waitress were both AMAZING. Just wish you guys were a bit more helpful.
Food was rushed with plates removed while others still eating.
Everything was really good. I just thought that a picture of sangria was a little expensive. The cost was $45.
Food was amazing . Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of menu.
Great atmosphere and great food!
Great food, atmosphere and a wonderful setting! Definite recommend!
Very good food. Servers were serious - maybe concerned about COVID or tired of wearing masks? I felt bad for them.
The staff was extremely friendly and serviced the table well.
Menu is a bit different. Used to have more appetizers or small bites , like tacos and quesadillas, now they come as a dinner. Food is tasty but very pricey for portions.
Drinks were mostly ice.
The 3% covid fee is absurd.
I’m not sure what happened to Rosa Mexicano but they seem to have changed their recipes around and the food just isn’t as good as it ha been. They no longer make guacamole in front of you and it just didn’t taste as food. The chips had a weird taste as well. My main course was made with a different sauce then it had been made with previously and it just wasn’t as good. They now charge for rice and beans which was free a year ago. I miss the old days when they would even give 3 salsas with the chips for free which they also no longer do!
Then at the end they add on a covid charge which I just find obnoxious. We all suffered financially from covid and this is already an expensive restaurant to start with.
This ‘was’ by far my fav restaurant in NYC until yesterday. I am a frequent patron since it opened in this location The old woman at the receiving desk had the worst manners I’ve encountered in recent years. Her tone and body languagewere both cold and indifferent to me. I did not stay for dinner.
Great food and extra friendly service.
We have dined at Rosa Mexicano several times, pre pandemic, and have always enjoyed our experience. This particular evening the food was adequate, but our server was below expectations. He never told us the specials, and never checked in with us. He spent most of his time socializing with his coworkers. We constantly had to find him if we needed anything.
