One of our go to places in NYC, they have a great happy hour and some of the best frozen margaritas around!
The menu was filled with a variety of creative delicious choices.
Awesome food and cocktails. Great ambiance. Service was also grest. Awesome experience.
We had a 7:30 reservation, they sat us after 8:00. Our server was very in inattentive. We had to chase her down to order she Never came over to see how we were doing. To add insult to injury the credit card system went down and took forever to hand write the check. Overall experience was really bad. Most likely I will not return. There are so many places in NYC, don’t need to go back there.
Great experience with a good. Sat us quickly, good table, lot of light and energy in the room.
Shane was a wonderful server..very attentive and knowledgeable. The best!!!
Good food great atmosphere delicious guacamole of course and tasty drinks
I've been going to this restaurant for years. I love the pomegranate Margarita pricey but worth it! Appetizers are usually what I eat there @ the bar. The chicken flautas are my favorite. My partner and I went for restaurant week for lunch. Unfortunately she didn't like her brisket and chorizo sandwich. We let the waitress Alicia know and she informed the hospitality manager. He came over to the table to find out how he could make her dining experience better. After our conversation we had he comped her meal. I thought that was the way to keep great customers like us coming back to Rosa Mexicano! We will continue to dine @ the Union Square restaurant. Thank you so much for your quick action!!
They brought our entrees out before the appetizers then a manager offered to let our food wait in the kitchen. No thanks. Don’t want to pay for overpriced tacos that have been sitting out for 45 minutes. She did offer complimentary dessert for the inconvenience, but we didn’t want dessert. After the food was put on table never saw the waiter again until I had to flag him down to pay. Disappointing.
Restaurant was noisy and service inconsistent. Food was pretty good but this restaurant does not disguise itself in the pack of margarita haunts and Mexican restaurants.
Food was great. The drinks were good. Amazing guac!
Try the flan! It was to die for.
I did make reservations and they were ready with y out table as soon as we got there. I was catching up with an old friend, so it was a little noisy and hard to hear. Probably better for loud groups. Food was good, a little salty, and they were not willing to omit a sauce that was drizzled on the top. Margaritas were fantastic. Overall bill was a little pricey for what we ordered but it goes with the territory.
The restaurant week special should really offer better options and more including guacamole!
The food never disappoints!
did the restaurant week dinner and didn‘t like it. maybe my fault but the food was not good
The only complaint is that Watermelon Margarita was enticingly advertised at the receptionist desk, but disappointingly the waiter advised us that watermelon margarita was unavailable. Either he was wrong or false advertising-we were disappointed.
Delicious food and great service and ambience. Very enjoyable experience every time I have come here.
Excellent customer/mgr service, great bar/cuisine in well designed setting. Union Square, like most Rosa Mexicano locations, can be a great bar scene AND the many different areas have space for a romantic date OR a family outing. It has it all for a tasty, Mex-style meal.
Such a FUN ambience, lovely service and great food. An overall 5-star dining experience.
For my first visit I had a great time with friends for my Birthday. We would’ve liked a Happy Hour though on a Saturday.
Great food. Beautiful ambiance. Amazing service. Will return back!
Food was hot and miss but the staff were nice and atmosphere was great.
Great atmosphere for a night out with the family. Good food and great service. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was not up to par on this last visit. Usually quite good
Best guacamole ever! Good value...food was authentic and good!
came there with a party of four we were seated right away with a choice of table or booth, we took the booth which was roomy drinks and food came fast food was good drinks were good decor is very nice
Horrible service and not the best Mexican I’ve had. It’s like eating in the middle of a traffic jam.
The guacamole is THE BEST. And it's fun to watch it being made table-side. I had the braised beef tacos - the meat was perfectly cooked but there was some concentrated spice that I wasn't expecting. Very tasty but spicier than I prefer. Loved the Churros and the raspberry sorbet was the perfect ending.
A lively atmosphere but a bit loud. Not a place for an intimate conversation, but a great place to have fun, get a great meal and have some wonderful drinks
Terrible service with mediocre Mexican food. ######################
I was hesitate to go here based on Yelp reviews but I am so glad I chose to come!! It’s a great place for any occasion!!
The food was lousy. We got the most disgusting guac we have ever had, and asked them politely a few times to alter it. The waiter was nice but the people who made the guac snatched it from our table without saying anything, very abruptly and threw hot peppers in it. When you pay $32 for guac you expect better. It was pretty noisy. The rest of the food was ok - not great.
Second but last time... Unfortunately, it had changed since our last time... You just start your apetizers that the main meal is coming... I feel that the place is now more in a much more rentability position by pushing you too much. Moreover, in spite of a reservation, we were first seated by the entrance... No problem to change , yet .. but need to ask... The waiter was nice but the idea was to take time on holidays...
The food is decent but the restaurant decor doesn't fit a Mexican restaurant. The decor feels like it is leftover from some 90s fusion restaurant.
A big disappointment in almost every respect: food was mediocre, salty, and soggy. No alcohol in margaritas. Even guacamole was tasteless. Choose Dos Caminos instead.
We’re from Texas and love this place. We always make time to visit this location each time we visit NYC.
We arrived about a 1/2 early for our reservation with one extra person. They were very friendly and accommodated us right away! It's a great space for larger groups. The food and service were excellent.
Phenomenal service and great food. They even brought us over a glass of champagne because we were celebrating our anniversary.
Rosa Mexicana is so cute. It’s a bit pricey for Mexican but their happy hour is really good - both until 7 and then 9 to close (which is rare). And they have a lot of space at the bar/in the happy hour area (even with tables). The service wasn’t the best but that’s understandable because they seemed to only have two waitresses for the whole bar area. At least the kitchen folk brought out our food when it was ready. It was also a bit loud when I had to ask “what?” and repeat myself a few times throughout the night. But it’s big and spacey and airy and fun and colorful! The food was good and the drinks were even better! I would go again and would recommend.
Although a noisy restaurant, the hostess kindly placed us in a quiet area. The menu is extensive, with varied choices. We ordered sangria and catch of the day fish dish. Excellent! Best of all, Shane, out server was exceptional. All in All, a lovely evening in a great eating with good food and service .
I usually have had a great time in my 5 years of visiting this particular location. I guess I was bound to have at least one negative experience. Our waitress was very rude, impatient and not knowledgeable about the cuisine. Besides that. All in all a pleasant dining experience.
