Ring in the New Year at Rosa Mexicano!
Tuesday, December 31, 2019
Being frequent visitors to Rosa Mexicano at their Union Square location, we had to try the Tribeca location this time around given the temporary closure of the Union Square location; however, it was a huge disappointment, with poor meat quality and undercooking of the skirt steaks for 2 of the party of 4. Never again to this location. Can’t wait for the Union Square location to reopen.
My mom left me at a young age
Great staff. Great food. Definitely recommend for a special night.
Definitely wouldn't recommend. HORRIBLE service, and food.
I told the waitress that it was my friend's birthday, we even ordered a dessert thinking they would bring it with a candle, and they never did. Incredibly upsetting.
The guac is the best. We met for drinks and guac and were very happy. Good buzz for a Friday night but not so noisy we couldn't hear.
It’s was horrible, took forever to get orders for drinks, appetizers, and food!!! Had to send back my drink 3 times then to finally get nothing, it was a birthday celebration and not a fun night!!!
Awesome service, and excellent food!
good food, nice place, not too noisy - this was on a sunday evening so noise may vary on other evenings.
It was very good place to meet my son for early lunch. Food was excellent but a bit cold where we were sitting. I will return!
This is our favorite Rosa Mexicano location. It's a little noisy but the food, drink and service are always good. However, this time, the food wasn't as good as before. The appetizer wasn't hot enough. The meat was very hard and my favorite side dish, Mexican corn on the cob was very small and bottom wasn't well cooked. The dessert was OK but it was better before.
A little disappointed. I hope everything will be better next time.
The white wine served was not cold.
The steak and port we ordered came cold. We ordered tuna ceviche dish that came swimming in source that was too sweet .
This was suppose to be a special occasion ruined by cold food and slow service. Won’t be returning
LaUnica Margarita is thee BEST. Some menu changes on appetizers and Quesadillas. Need a mushroom Quesadilla back.
Hostess forgot we were at the bar took 30 minutes past our reservation to sit after we reminder her. Server was terrible and inattentive took 40 minutes with no food or drinks to finally cash out.
Unfortunate bc the first time we went here it was a great experience. Would not recommend going to anyone.
The staff were kind but seemed inexperienced. Weren’t familiar with the menu. If you love Rosa Mexicano on 1St Ave. stay away from the Murray location. We all wanted the Filet with tequila mushroom cream sauce and when it arrived after one taste we all sent it back. It’s not flavorful and not the same dish that you love from First Ave. The kids also took one bight of their taquitos and pushed the plate aside. After we approached them about our disappointment a nice lady tried to offer us something else. It felt like a cafeteria experience. I had high hopes for this restaurant since it’s only two blocks from Four Seasons. We won’t go back!
Food was not very flavorful or fresh tasting.
Guac and chips good
But cocktails not memorable and atmosphere was like a shopping mall quick bites place
I would not go back
The food and service at Rosa Mexicano were incredible. We had the Chamorro and it was beyond good. Drinks were tasty, ambiance was quiet and relaxed. I would really recommend for a date night, nice dinner, and special occasions.
Always a good choice. Steak Quesadilla was outstanding. The Guacamole had just the right kick, as I ordered it spicy.
The waiter (Freddie) was up-selling us, interrupting us, and pushing us out. He was clearly disgusted with the hostess for sitting us on a 4-top table when we were only a couple.
Delicious food. Attentive service.
Amazing time Friday night, our server was THE BEST <3! Will be back!!
The food was excellent and the service was great!
Doubt I’ll be back. Location is convenient but there are so many better Mexican restaurants in NYC. Server was friendly but service was subpar. We waited over 30 minutes for her to come back after taking our drink order when asking for just “a few more minutes”. It’s not like it was crowded and she was running around. Street corn was amazing. Everything else including drinks were blah and overpriced.
Sometimes staff members make a good night great--that was certainly the case this past weekend at Rosa Mexicano in TriBeCa. The manager Leah was so unbelievably welcoming as if we dined there a thousand times. Amazing drinks, she even brought out a few nibbles for us at the bar while we waited for our table. Leah then sat with us and pointed out her favorites on the menu--we ordered whatever she told us and we were not disappointed. Food was great, beautiful space, and all enhanced because of one outgoing and excellent employee. We will be back for sure.
It took a while for a server to come to our table (there was a very large party that sat down right before us) but once we did get a server they were wonderful
Go for drinks avoid the food. Guacamole tasted like it was cut with squash, cucumber or something. For $16, I expected avocado. Also tacos lacked flavor. Margaritas were great
The food was subpar. The seating area was too tight. I kept getting knotted into by the staff and by patrons, horrible experience.
Lunch was amazing
Everything was mediocre
They were amazing! Food great service was awesome
They ran out of the one entree that I actually wanted. However, the manager was very kind and gave me another entree to try on the house.
Estuvo muy bien, fue una recomendación y nos gustó bastante. La única pega era que al estar las mesas tan juntas, había mucho ruido y casi no se podía hablar.
It was a lovely and delicious meal. Alittle warm in the restaurant for this time of year!
This was our first visit to Rosa Mexicano, but definitely not our last. We were pleasantly surprised by our random choice. The services was wonderful and friendly, and the food was delicious. Not your typical mexican restaurant.
The ambiance was dated (aside from the bar, which looked really cool). The food was decent Mexican. Our server was AMAZING. She was knowledgeable, accommodating and very sweet!
Food and service was excellent and we will definitely come back again.
Great food ! Will come here again! Must try their guacamole!!
Website does not explain happy hour. Complimentary rice and beans too small for 4 of us. Food was dry and overpriced
Food is always quite tasty at Rosa Mexicano. Service is friendly and efficient, our waiter was quite nice. RM is a restaurant we return to often, although this is the first time we were at the Tribeca location. I'm not certain we Ioved the downstairs seating, but the noise level was more manageable — so perhaps it was a good thing. Just wasn't expecting the subterranean atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful evening.
