Our first Rosa Mexicano to open in New Jersey is located at The Shops at Riverside in Bergen County. The 160-seat restaurant features a spacious bar and lounge area, as well as outdoor and private dining options. Under the creative direction of architect and designer Timothy Higgins, the décor features vibrant colors such as vivid pink, deep maroon, rich butterscotch and warm yellow. Traditional craftwork and adornments include Oaxacan wood carvings of mythical animals, custom wax-dipped artwork, Mayan Indian textiles, and folk art masks. Tortillas are fresh-made on-site at a station featuring colorful tiles and a hammered copper hood. Through the unique designs and cuisine, all will encounter an authentic Mexican experience at Rosa Mexicano.
Your choice of mild, medium, or spicy with chips and salsa norteña
Jarritos: Grapefruit, Mandarin, Tamarind. Mexican Coca-Cola
Warm Mexican doughnuts, dusted with sugar and cinnamon and served with dark chocolate and raspberry-guajillo dipping sauces
The food was very authentic. The guacamole was fantastic, it is made fresh table side
Really good food and great service.
The food at Rosa Mexicana is always superb. I have eaten at their New York restaurants more often but meet a New Jersey relative at the Riverside Square location periodically and am never disappointed. Seating is more comfortable and better spaced then the New York locations, a real plus as we begin to venture back to indoor dining during COVID. In addition this restaurant is quiet so you can comfortably have a conversation while enjoying well prepared food. Both the West and East Side NY locations are too noisy during regular dining hours to enjoy the people you are with
The food was excellent. Tasty, authentic Mexican and more thought put into each dish. Drinks were strong and tasty. Would recommend.
The food was delicious and the service was stellar!
The food at this restaurant is too notch. You cannot get better food and experience the authentic Mexican food anywhere else. Love it and keep going there every month.
Too few servers. Service was slow and it was hard to get service.
The food and service were wonderful. Our waitress was so
Helpful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
We had a very enjoyable dinner. We went on the early side. It wasn’t busy. It was very nice. The waiter was great and the food was very good.
This place needs a pick me up! Looks old and dingy. Doesn’t look clean
Food and service were excellent. I was especially happy with the vegan options.
Small food menu. Some things out of stock
I rated my visit as a 3 because our sever was not attentive. After we were seated it took 45 mins before anyone came to take our drink order. It didn't appear as busy so not sure what the problem was. The food was good though, service not so great.
It took half an hour to get a margarita. I realize there is a staffing problem but there were plenty of people standing around who could have helped. I haven’t been here for awhile and noticed the menu has changed. I liked the.old menu better. Also the entrees were a little skimpy, 3 skinny enchiladas, no rice or vegetable
Terrible service. Waiting 45 mins to be served. Tables close together.
So happy bar area is back open. Our favorites are the table side guacamole, the chicken tortilla soup, the flautas & the enchiladas. Also must have the frozen pomegranate Margarita here!
Food was good and drinks were great! There was plenty of outdoor and also inside
We had a lovely dinner at Rosa Mexicano. It was a quiet Thursday night and service was outstanding.
Quality of food was not there. Not same as 1st Avenue restaurant
The staff was amazing: the accommodated our needs and we’re very friendly. The food was really good.
From the moment we walked and we’re greeted by 2 smiling and welcoming hostesses, to the great service we received from our waiter Freddy, to a warm and friendly exchange with the general manager Chandi over flowers, this was just a perfect and lovely experience from start to finish. We have always loved the food at Rosa Mexicano, and this time was no exception. All in all, we felt really happy and satisfied and can’t wait to go back!
Rosa Mexicano losing its way unfortunately. Sat outdoors at a table that was filthy. Hadn't been cleaned nor had any of the other empty tables around. Had the prix fixe menu which is a good value but the flavors were just blah. Chips and salsa no longer complimentary, really? Better options else where I am afraid
It started off rocky with a server that should have stayed home but a single mention to the front desk and they quickly fixed things to make the night memorable. Except for the corn tortillas not being able to hold together for the tacos, everything was perfect, including the service from Kayla & management.
The service was slow but the hostess was very friendly personable probably short staffed . The Guacamole was not good at all usually our favorite .My meal was very bland unfortunately the dining experience was not great .
Though the food was good. It took 20 mins for someone to sit us even though we had a reservation and there was no one waiting. Another 34 mins for someone to take our order and 58 minutes to be served. I could understand if it was busy but it was not. It not worth 150.00 for 3 people and it should not take 2 hour to begin eating. This was the worst experience we have had
Food was really flavorful and delicious. Always a great meal. We have been going back there for years and never had a bad meal. Their signature pomegranate margarita will take the days stress away.
The staff was amazing. Polite, fast service, helpful and honest.
Excellent service ! Food was delicious
Good food and great service. Would recommend the restaurant.
The Salmon Pablano is great every time and the pork dishes are always flavorful and not greasy at all..The frozen pomegranite margharita is the best cocktail of all time.
Place was empty! Food was ok.
The restaurant was extremely dirty, hair on the floor, seats not cleaned, looked and smelled like mildew.
Food was excellent and service was fantastic.
But It was a dull place and pretty boring ..If you are looking to have a quiet time this is the place.
Needs bright lighting and better interior like the ones in NYC..
Food is delicious, staff is professional and friendly, place is very clean. One of our favorite go to places for Saturday lunch. No complaints at all.
Short staffed, they did their best to accommodate everyone. Food and drinks were ok. The lights were so bright it felt like a cafeteria.
Our first time at this location....looked fwd to them making guac at the table but no more since Covid (but it was still A-1)....the corn dish was not the same as we had in NY....but everything else was delish! Kudos to the Banana Cream Pie Baker! Freddy, our waiter, was soooo nice and accommodating! We'll go back soon!
The food was great as usual! Paul the manager goes out of his way to make his customers happy!
There’s A happy hour daily that’s amazing!
Sangria here is excellent, highly recommended
I live nearby so I used to come here quiet often but this was my first tome back since covid. Service was absolutely terrible. We were served soup without spoons. It was impossible to flag anyone down but when we finally asked two different servers for spoons, we only received the spoons along with our main entrees. Food was worse than before but it’s really the poor service that got me.
Fantastic food, service was mediocre but overall great experience if you choose to ignore bad parts!!!
