In 1984, Rosa Mexicano set a new standard for Mexican cuisine when it first opened on the upper east side of New York City. Playing a leading role in defining what was then a "new" cuisine to American diners, Rosa Mexicano delivers authentic Mexican cooking in an accessible, stylishly festive atmosphere. Rosa Mexicano's menu features a range of award-winning signature dishes, including our Guacamole en Molcajete, in a traditional lava rock mortar. Described by Time Out New York as "green ecstasy in a stone bowl," it is prepared table side and served with house made chips, warm corn tortillas and condiment salsas. Rosa Mexicano is also known for the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita, as well as the stylish and festive ambiance that includes an illuminated water wall.

Have been to Rosa's a couple of times and it is consistently very good. The wait staff is very nice and the drinks are excellent as is the food. Lots of things to choose from no matter your taste!

I've been to the Rosa Mexicano in Chinatown, but the National Harbor was much better! Our server Daniel was phenomenal. The view was great! Parking was easy -- and the food was on point!

Reservations were at 7:45pm. Walked in at 7:40 and was seated immediately. Margaritas, chips and salsa, Carnitas, and chicken were delicious with large portions to take home.

A very nice dining experience. Six friends were there together. Service and food were very good. Had to make reservations for very early - hard to get a table at prime time on a Saturday.

This restaurant has been hit or miss for me and isn't moving in a positive direction. We will probably not eat at a Rosa anytime soon. Too bad we planned to stop at one in NYC, plans have already been changed.

Our group consisted of four women. Each of us ordered something different: Arrachera, Pollo adobado, Pescado de Mahi Mahi and Chile Poblano Relleno. They were all fantastic and it was plenty of food. We mentioned in passing that there was a "birthday girl" at the table and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert with a candle. We used Open Table to make our reservation (a Thursday night) and were seated at the correct time and with the view we requested. Couldn't ask for more. I suggest a visit to Rosa Mexicano at National Harbor. I will being again.

The food at Rosa's is delicious from the queso fundido and empanadas to the carne asada and - my favorite - tres enchiladas. The black beans for the table are just wonderful - so good even my picky 7 year old devours them. Love the fresh margaritas - am partial to La Unica - and tableside guacamole. I am also gluten free (celiac) and most of the menu is accessible to me, the servers are knowledgeable, and I have never been glutened there. Writing this review is making me hungry. The service is also top notch and I've done lunch for a work group at the restaurant at the Harbor and in DC and had a great experience. Go and throw a dart at the menu if you cannot decide - you cannot go wrong.

I made reservations a few weeks in advance for my mothers birthday, knowing that Rosa Mexicano is one of her favorites. I've been only once before and loved it. Our favorite has to be the fresh guacamole, we ordered to servings! (LOL) Our server was great! (I forget her name) We brought our own cake in for my mother and I love how the restaurant added the raspberry sauce for décor on the plate, not only did it look amazing it tasted amazing. My one and only disappointment was I asked one of the guys to box something and it got thrown away. Over all, it was amazing and we will return

Delicious table-side guacamole. Fantastic fajitas and mole poblano. We enjoyed both the red and white sangria, too.

I had been to Rosa Mexicano for dinner before and the food was amazing! I had an opportunity to go during lunch with my co-workers and they loved it! A bit pricey, but it was worth it! I would definitely recommend!

We ate here for lunch and dinner while staying at The National Harbor. The service is friendly, helpful and prompt. For dinner my husband ordered the enchiladas with mole sauce and our waiter asked if we were familiar with mole sauce because some people don't like it. Thankfully, he brought a sample for us to try and my husband decided to order something else. I thought this was exceptional of the waiter and very helpful. We both had enchiladas for dinner which were very good. For lunch I had fish tacos which weren't as good as the enchiladas and my husband had a chicken dish with tortillas which was very good. The signature guacamole prepared table side is good but a overpriced in my opinion.

I really enjoyed my recent dinner at Rosa Mexicano National Harbor. The food was delicious, the space is beautiful, and we were seated right in the window looking out onto the harbor. A really beautiful dining experience. Get the mango chile margarita!

Meal was great! Had the short ribs and they were so tender and fell off the bone. Highly recommend them and the guacamole made at your table.

I went to Rosa Mexicana for a business lunch, and the food and service was great. It was just the right setting for discussing business, and the view of the harbor was a nice touch. Also, the waiter was very attentive and provided great recommendations. I will definitely be back, and recommend this place to others.

Rosa Mexicano's food is excellent. You can tell that they use all fresh produce. The dishes are not your typical fair. Which did cause some problems with the people I was with. The wait staff is reasonably attentive. After we received our food, they never stopped back by to see if we needed anything. We ended up grabbing a waiters attention to order desert. The donuts (churros) are amazing.
