The food and the margaritas were fantastic. The tableside guacamole was outstanding! Thank you!
Our experience was 'ok.' 1: My husband observed an employee leave the bathroom without washing his hands. Ew. 2. When I requested my child's chicken tacos leave out the cheese, I was told that couldn't happen. However, when we received the dish it was obvious the cheese could have been omitted and we could have all been spared a toddler meltdown. 3. The guac was great. You could probably just get that and be happy. At least our food came out quickly and we had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. Disappointed to spend $100 on a 'meh' lunch.
I noted that it was my daughters birthday but nothing was ever said. Plus we were seated in a terribly noisy room with obnoxious children
Was immediately seated by the window had fresh guacamole made by a server and service was excellent will definitely be back.
The chips and salsa were delicious and the guacamole did not disappoint. The carne asada was the table favorite. Drinks are expensive ($13/tumbler of margarita), but good!
Great meal. Try the Carnitas!
Reliably good food that is fresh and innovative. And those pomegranate margaritas!
They gave us a beeper that was dead so our wait was 30 min when we didn’t respond to being called.
Guacamole was delicious. My fish tacos were cooked perfect...lightly fried fish over a yummy, tangy slaw.
We chose this restaurant based on decent Open Table reviews. But we were very disappointed. Quite frankly we've had better food from food trucks. The salmon dinner was just OK. The pork dish was, oddly enough, mostly just a large hunk of meat. The $15.00 shrimp quesadilla was a HUGE disappointment. The tortilla was dry and there were only about 2 tiny little shrimp in each of the four small segments. It was just some cheese with a few tiny shrimp sprinkled on. It was accompanied by about a tablespoon of pico ... no sour cream or quacamole.
This restaurant is taking advantage of the tourists to the harbor who want a nice view of the water and wheel.
We love this place. Food isn't "authentic" but it's a fancified version of Mexican food. It's different but as long as you're not expecting your local hole-the-wall authentic fare, it's still super delicious. Very loud on a Saturday night but restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. Guac and margaritas were extra delicious. Be prepared to spend money as it's not inexpensive. Would not bring my kid here (would be a waste of money on him).
The wait staff was incredibly attentive! The guacamole superb! So fresh!!! The margarita was wonderful. The food was tasty. The ONLY negative for me was that it was very dark. I could not see the menu in front of me without using the flashlight on my phone (and no, I’m not old and I don’t have vision problems).
Excellent table side quacamole
Had a great meal, as usual, at Rosa. Originally our favorite spot in NYC and thankfully now an outpost in DC area. Best table side guacamole and authentic Mexican food.
Don't miss it.
Rosa is a DC area fixture, and never really disappoints. The food and decor are great for a nice, authentic Mexican experience. Also, a good value for this area, as the average meal with a drink cam be had for under $50.
Food was fresh and delicious but the made at your table guacamole was outstanding!!
The guacamole was awesome. The food is an upper scale Mexican. Over all it was good. It was a change from basic Mexican chain Restaurants.
Fantastic authentic Mexican cuisine! Table-side guacamole is a must! Would be a good choice for lunch or dinner for any occasion. Atmosphere is very authentic.
The entire staff was so pleasant and accommodating. Great fun to have the guacamole made table side.
Very happy and pleased about my experience here. Needs more shrimp dishes on menu.
It was a great visit. As soon as my fiance and I arrived, we were seated. By using the app, we bypassed several groups of people that were waiting to be seated.
Normally love this place but felt rushed during our last visit. Almost like we were just tourists they were moving through and didn’t care about because they’d never see us again. Food was ok - although fundido was delicious. Overall just a bleh experience. Disappointing.
Excellent as always - great food, great service, great guacamole!
Interesting menu. Excellent Service!
Love the atmosphere, speed of service, and friendly servers!! I’ll go back soon!!
We had a great time and the food was excellent! Love the atmosphere! A must if you are in National Harbor!
I’d recommend that the servers try not to be too pushy on sales. While we understand that sales drive business forward, our server crossed the comfort line by trying to push appetizers. After we said that we didn’t want an appetizer, he asked, “so, are you going to go with the queso or the table side guacamole?”. We politely declined AGAIN, and he walked away seemingly frustrated. the server lost our confidence that he Had little interest regarding what our preferences were which had made us question our restaurant selection choice.
Overall very disappointing. Not the restaurant I remember.
We ordered the table side guacamole, and to our shock it wasn’t made table side. They just brought it out and put it on our table.
I ordered the stuffed chicken based on other reviews and I was really surprised that it came out dry and cold.
My wife ordered the shrimp quesadilla’s and they were awful. Came to table cold and were very weak. She noted that the Qdoba quesadilla’s are far and away better.
We will not be going back anytime soon.
The salmon was EXCELLENT! My compliments to the chef!
I was there right on time for my reservation at 7:45 cause I had to be at 9:30 in the fare wheel for a ride that I bought before. The waiter didn’t come until 8pm cause it was so busy and I understand that, but the food took over 1 hr to come to the table and it was horrible; cold and the steak over cooked. Anyways we rushed to eat it (we literally just took a bite and we left). Of course it ruin my date and I missed the rest of my plans cause I got out to late.
This used to be my favorite restaurant I love their guacamole and the service. Definitely not going back anytime soon it makes me sad cause when people use to ask me what was my favorite restaurant I have always said Rosa Mexicano “the one in National Harbor”.
The food was ok. The food use to be better. The noise level of the music was too loud to hear the waiter. Several times I had to ask the waiter to repeat what he said.
Great place to sit down to eat. Would recommend the medium guacamole if you do get it. Mild tasted somewhat bland, the medium has a bit more flavor.
Avoid the table that is at the corner of the open floor area, foot traffic will surround you from all sides (like you are basically sitting in the middle of a hallway or sidewalk).
Great customer service, Elizabeth was very professional.
The food was good but not hot. It seems like Rosa has lost a little something. We were celebrating our 20th Anniversary and no one wished us a Happy Anniversary even though it was stated within the reservation. Just a little disappointing.
Great food and excellent service!!! Will return again.
I am not sure why you took the short ribs off the menu. Bring back the short ribs...
Awesome guacamole - and I don’t eat guacamole!!
Particularly slow service especially when the restaurant was not full. For example, 20-25 minutes after ordering our dessert which had yet to be served, we asked to cancel as we had to head to a show. Our response was actually declined. She brought the dessert, which included barely warm churros. Drink order was also incorrect twice. Food was very good, esp tableside guac, but overpriced unless you need to eat at the National Harbor for an event etc.
Celebrated my friend’s 40th Birthday and it was Restaurant Week as well!! Food and drinks were amazing and the ambiance and view were awesome!!
The two young ladies at the hostess booth were not welcoming at all. I said hello to them and received a cold look in return. That started the evening off on a bad note. Our server seemed irritated by our questions about food selections. He talked really fast which made it hard for us yo decipher which menu item he was making reference too. Overall it wasn't the worst experience I've had but not anywhere near a 4 star experience. I will not suggest this restaurant to anyone.
