TINY PORTIONS available during happy hour. Not the best place to go to if you're looking to get your money's worth during happy hour. Our group was still hungry and we easily spent $50 after 5 tacos, 2 mini margs, 1 corona, and table side guacamole. Great food and very flavorful, however I would recommend for special occasions only.
The ambience and menu are the highlights of our visit. We enjoyed the signature pomegranate marguerita and sangria.
Drinks were strong, food was hot and service wad good.
Great food, particularly the carnitas
The food is just not good. The flavor isn't there and the options are bland. I think the bar is about it.
It was good. Server was good. Hostess staff was not really friendly. Bathrooms were a mess. Needed attention and cleaning.
Waiter did not check on our table once. Did not even got the side of rice I ask for. Bad service from waiter.
We had a server come up to us and ask us if we had any questions about the menu to ask and we said okay and then he didn’t come back after about 15 minutes of us looking at the menu. Then a random server asked if we had been helped and we said not really so she took the rest of our order and everything was great after that! Really good food too
Elimary is a great server we requested her every time we eat there because of her patient and great service to us.
One of the best meals I have had in years. Get the salmon entree with chorizo, kale, and poblano cream sauce. You won’t be disappointed. Glad we ventured out from the typical steakhouse for our anniversary. We got a table with an awesome view of the harbor. Thanks Rosa Mexicana chefs, wait staff, dish crew, management, and all those who keep good restaurants afloat these days.
The menu seemed way more limited than pre-pandemic, the service was so so, and our appetizer guac wasn't ready until we were almost finished with our entrees, in addition to getting the wrong desserts, no spoons for ice cream, and the outdoor seating area was closed. Hopefully it was just a one off/bad night.
We normally love RM and this location but they were off their game. The service was incredibly slow, the employees were frantic, and half our entrees came out cold. We understand things aren’t up to anyones standards because of Covid but this was really below the bar. It took 45 minutes for our appetizer to come out, for reference.
The prices increased and food taste and quantity didn't. Due to the inattentiveness of my servers in training neither deserved the generous tip I gave for the delayed service. Not what I was used to. The pandemic shouldn't make service worst and prices higher. We all struggling. Rice and beans are now Ala carte! Sad
The guacamole is always good. My cod and shrimp Veracruz was fresh, healthy, and cooked properly although a bit bland. I prefer the more traditional Veracruz preparation with a tomato and onion sauce. The sliced steak dish was tasty and cooked perfectly to order (medium rare). Delicious cocktails. Efficient service.
The food quality is not as good as it used to be. The empanadas were too spicy with no flavor worth the spice and this dessert dead bread had uncooked cloves in it and the enchiladas tasted like they had school spaghetti sauce on it. Only the atmosphere is nice. I would only go again for a drink and an app that’s all
The table wasn’t,t set with small plates and silverware. We asked for both twice to 2 different people before we got any.. Food was good.
Excellent like always !
Best place in National Harbor
I had a 12:30 reservation. I requested outdoor seating. I was called prior to advise that outdoor seating was first come first serve. Once I arrived there were 3 tables outside were available but we were told that they were short on bus boys and had to wait. We waited 35 mins then approached the hostess desk. The hostesses we beyond rude and told us we need to wait. Finally we were sat and the hostess harshly yelled “you ready” sat us outside threw 1 menu at the table. I thanked her and she walked away without acknowledging me. Our waitress Ellie was great she turned the experience around. The food was great the drinks were amazing. I would come back but different hostesses are needed for sure.
The food is average and small portions.
Considered pricy for the quality.
Our waiter didn’t introduce themselves for 20 min then when they came to service us they still never formally greeted us.
Food was delicious- thus was birthday event - they did not even suggest or offered anything. No dessert menu was given . Food was delicious
They changed the brunch menu and not sure why. Quality went down.
Unpleasant hostess, very slow service in bar, and much worse service outside for dinner. Yes, we’re aware of less staff due to COVID; however, we should have been served more quickly for a simple margarita. Outside the order and wait was extremely slow. Three hours for a simple dinner. We won’t be returning.
The food and service was wonderful! We have been to Rosa Mexicana once before years ago and brought our friends back to try it with us. We sat near the window so we had a great view of the harbor. We had a very attentive server named Warren who made multiple recommendations for drinks and food. We all loved our drinks as well as the enchiladas and fish tacos. Oh and the sides! So good. Everything was excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
Stale chips. Bland food.
I understand that the hospitality industry has been impacted by staff shortages and that those shortages may impact my dining experience. That was evident at Rosa Mexicano during my visit. The manager took our drink orders and then never returned to the table (although we did see him having to clear tables and assist in other areas). Our waiter did show up and we had to ask him to find out about the drink order. Our food also took a long time to come and when it did, my meal was lukewarm as opposed to hot (or being freshly prepared). I have visited here on several occasions in the past and was disappointed in the difference in service and food this time around. I hope that things improve in the future.
Always my go to spot for any special occasion. The food is wonderful! Staff is attentive and helpful. Great view of the harbor. Enjoying walking around the area after our meal.
Service was not great. It was 11:30am, not crowded at all and our waitress appeared to have only our table to serve at that time. She took our order and brought out our drinks. Good runner brought out our food and forgot one thing so she said she would be back, to never return. We waited for our waitress to address the missing item and ask for our first refill but she didn’t come back until we were nearly finished with our plate, approximately 30 or 40 minutes. When she did finally come to check in, we asked about our missing food and she quickly ran to the kitchen and brought it out. She forgot about our refill and because we were done eating, we waited to hail her down for the check. $4.50 for a small glass of soda with tons of ice and no refill was not worth the cost. Food was delicious though. I would return for the food but not for the service. Perhaps take out is better so I don’t have to tip for poor service. Btw, I tipped her 18% for her subpar service which I think is very generous.
I definitely think things have changed, I missed the lively atmosphere and amazing food. What happened to the freshly made guacamole at your table? 😕
Our waitress Mariam was awesome and accommodating. We ended up having an extra person in our party and she spoke with management to get us a bigger table. It was very busy but she definite checked in with us frequently to make sure we were ok.
Server kept forgetting our orders.
Bad and delayed service and very dry food
The service was terrible! It took more than 10 minutes for somebody to come to our table, which was dirty, by the way. Food was not good, the guacamole was not fresh (even getting dark!), and the meat was small for the price. The margarita was not even half full with lots of ice! Do not recommend at all, we had an overall bad experience!
Loved it! The churros were so sooo delicious. Our server Edner (I think that was his name) was just so kind, attentive and funny. Our time there was amazing and the food and drinks were perfect. I will be back!
Great place to go to people watch if seated outside, with great food and drinks. Have to try the frozen pomegranate margaritas!
Food wasn't what was advertised in their social media. Chiles en nogada where nothing like they should be. The sauce was thick and clumpy, and when I said something to the server, he sent it to the kitchen, and they sent me a new order and it was still pretty bad. It was also missing a main ingredient, they said because it wasnt available, but we werent told about it beforehand. A little heads up on this wouldve been great
