The service was not good, we weren’t checked on by the server a single time during our meal if we may need or like anything else. The two other groups besides us were checked on constantly. It didn’t feel welcoming. The food was good. Guacamole was good but we were not served a new basket of chips with it...(service). I’ve been here before (and it’s been good) and the two other members of my group were new to the restaurant but left with a bad experience (sad to say).
I have eaten here more than once but I took some family members for their first time and they were not impressed with the service. I am not sure if they were short staffed but service could have been much better.
As usual, sat quickly for our reservation. Friendly service, good margaritas and food.
We've been to Rosa Mexicano several times. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is upbeat! The service was a bit slow but the waitress was very pleasant.
I always enjoy going!
Once again our dining experience was wonderful. We come here often and always have a good time.
Delicious food. A little pricey for the portions, but it taste great.
Rosa Mexicano is a good choice before going to games at the Staples Center
We visited for Easter Sunday brunch after making a reservation ahead of time. We were seated right at our reservation time.
Water was promptly served to all at the table and we were offered a free tasting of carnitas tacos. We gladly accepted.
Our waitress took our drink orders while the buser brought chips and salsa. We ordered guacamole made table-side as an accompaniment to the chips and salsa. A bit pricey but delicious nonetheless. The Hibiscus Spritzer was yummy and not strong at all. The Mimosa was a bit too strong that my mother-in-law didn't finish it.
We waited quite a bit for our entrees despite the restaurant not being as full as we expected for holiday.
They delivered our daughter's kid's meal warm which was perfect so she could begin eating right away. I ordered the Tampiqueña de Carne Asada, my husband and mother-in-law ordered the Arrachera one well and one medium-rare and my father-in-law ordered the Chamorro. They delivered the med-rare plate to my mother-in-law which should have been for my husband, the well done to my father-in-law and Chamorro to my husband. We got it straightened out. We were served complimentary rice, beans and handmade tortillas to share. All were delicious expect my mother-law found a very long hair in her food and I found a mystery meat, possibly pork or chicken in my veggies. We reported both and surprisingly, both dishes were comped off the bill. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We were so pleasantly surprised by the comp that we ordered 2 desserts.
The experience leading up to the comp could have made us decide not to visit again but the staff handled the issues we encountered better than we could have expected and we will definitely be visiting again.
Food was excellent. Service was very good. Our table made guacamole was bit salty, we told them and they made us a new batch which was excellent.
Very poor service
All of the members of our party loved our dishes. A great spot to unwind with good food.
First timer. Luncheon special was delicious and a great value. Mexican background music way too loud. But am old and can't hear very well anymore.....
Food was serviceable. Higher expectations for this high end Mexican place right near Staples Center. Menu was varied enough but neither of our meals - shrimp quesadilla or Pescado Primavera were especially flavorful. Salsa was only OK. While cocktail was good it was called Pineapple Japlapeno, and I really tasted neither. Tequila used was good though. Tableside guacamole was also very good. But really not worth the expense and many other options at LA Live are preferable.
Solid food and excellent service!
We had to ask for our waiter after about 10 min or so after being seated, but once we got a waiter the service was great!
We dined Saturday evening before the NCAA elite 8 basketball game. We checked in on-time at 4:30 and waited 30 minutes before our first drinks arrived. Our waiter was good but it was apparent the restaurant was sorely understaffed for an early event at Staples center. Unfortunately our dinner didn’t arrive until 2 minutes before we had to leave for the game. The food was decent but we didn’t have time to sit and enjoy . Disappointing.
Took my team to lunch. They enjoyed it their first experience.
Food was rather bland. Food arrived so quickly, I felt it came from a steam table, rather than cooking from scratch.
Table side guacamole lacked any flavor.
their salsa tasted like a bottle of la Victoria, like tomato sauce. My aunt ordered the flautas and told the waitress that she wanted something small and plain. The flautas came with a sauce that was extremely spicy and my aunt could not eat it. I ordered the filet mignon skewers and there were peppers on the plate that burned my mouth. they were part of the skewers and I thought they were bell peppers and I was so miserable for 20 minutes. I got full off all the water I kept drinking to keep my mouth from burning
Food was very good, drinks were delicious and packed a bit of a punch, and service was very nice.
Service was not the greatest - after waiting about 20 mins I had to say something to be waited on.
Dinner was great the food was good. It was a little expensive but everything there is. I will say the food quality was great.
Pre clipper game
Drinks medium (not strong not weak)
Food okay, a little bland
Service was slow. Took a while to get our food. We never got our appetizer, and once the main dish arrived it was cold.
Terrible food. Horrible service. Disappointing. I will never return
This is a somewhat upscale Mexican restaurant in dowtown LA. I had the Carnitas, which were very satisfying, with a side of tortillas, beans, rice and a side order of (excellent) corn on the cob with coconut. Overall, good value and good flavours.
The restaurant was great with exelent customer service. The server was really attentive, I had a great time enjoying my meal. I would recommend it to a friend.
Katie was a great server she was very attentive and personable
Great service thank you Danny took care of me definitely will be back
Went to this restaurant about 5 years ago and was blown away. This time we should have chosen elsewhere. Average Mexican food at high price!
I've been to Rosa Mexicano in NY and Washington DC and was quite impressed with those locations. The Los Angeles was a bit of a disappointment. The service was not nearly as good as my past experiences. The waiter has to be reminded to get my coffee and the lack of attention for our table was not a good experience. Overall, I rate this experience Fair at best.
Atmosphere of the Restaurant isn't nearly as classy as those on the East Coast.
Love coming to this place . Very authentic to Mexican food here is so good
We had enchiladas, tacos and guacamole. The guacamole, the corn served with the tacos, and the enchilada sauces were outstanding (the sauce on the beef enchilada was my favorite). The tacos and the meat in the enchiladas were good, but we would have preferred a little more flavor. The service was the best part of the meal. Our server and the staff member that made our guac were professional, helpful and friendly. It was a great experience overall.
My wife and I had the good fortune to stumble upon Rosa Mexicano restaurant before the King's game last Saturday night. El Chollo's was sold out so i made a sight unseen reservation at Rosa's.
We were more that pleasantly surprised! The food was great, good service on a busy night and fantastic Cadillac Margaritas! The ambiance and decor were pleasant as well.
We will definitely be back, whether El Chollos is busy or not!
Service was okay. Food was nothing special. Overpriced for ordinary.
The table side guacamole is awesome. The rest of the meal was ok - I've been to the Washington DC location and I find that one to be much better.
Everything was wonderful! From the sangria and guacamole to our wonderful entrees, it’s always a great experience at Rosa Mexicana!
Server seemed too busy for us. Doubt she was sitting down doing nothing; however why would refilling water be so complicated. Was i suppose to keep ordering alcohol for better service? Thanks to management who was walking by that I finally received a refill AFTER eating my diner. Chile relleno needs a refresh. Carnitas are bombs. $40 parking is definitely too much. The OpenTable experience was nice. Shame the restaurant is not up to par. Rosa Mexicano there wont be a next time.
The portions are small. I got only part of my food n was still charged the total amount. Would not recommend to anyone
