Service was not the greatest - after waiting about 20 mins I had to say something to be waited on.
Dinner was great the food was good. It was a little expensive but everything there is. I will say the food quality was great.
Pre clipper game
Drinks medium (not strong not weak)
Food okay, a little bland
Service was slow. Took a while to get our food. We never got our appetizer, and once the main dish arrived it was cold.
Terrible food. Horrible service. Disappointing. I will never return
This is a somewhat upscale Mexican restaurant in dowtown LA. I had the Carnitas, which were very satisfying, with a side of tortillas, beans, rice and a side order of (excellent) corn on the cob with coconut. Overall, good value and good flavours.
The restaurant was great with exelent customer service. The server was really attentive, I had a great time enjoying my meal. I would recommend it to a friend.
Katie was a great server she was very attentive and personable
Great service thank you Danny took care of me definitely will be back
Went to this restaurant about 5 years ago and was blown away. This time we should have chosen elsewhere. Average Mexican food at high price!
I've been to Rosa Mexicano in NY and Washington DC and was quite impressed with those locations. The Los Angeles was a bit of a disappointment. The service was not nearly as good as my past experiences. The waiter has to be reminded to get my coffee and the lack of attention for our table was not a good experience. Overall, I rate this experience Fair at best.
Atmosphere of the Restaurant isn't nearly as classy as those on the East Coast.
Love coming to this place . Very authentic to Mexican food here is so good
We had enchiladas, tacos and guacamole. The guacamole, the corn served with the tacos, and the enchilada sauces were outstanding (the sauce on the beef enchilada was my favorite). The tacos and the meat in the enchiladas were good, but we would have preferred a little more flavor. The service was the best part of the meal. Our server and the staff member that made our guac were professional, helpful and friendly. It was a great experience overall.
My wife and I had the good fortune to stumble upon Rosa Mexicano restaurant before the King's game last Saturday night. El Chollo's was sold out so i made a sight unseen reservation at Rosa's.
We were more that pleasantly surprised! The food was great, good service on a busy night and fantastic Cadillac Margaritas! The ambiance and decor were pleasant as well.
We will definitely be back, whether El Chollos is busy or not!
Service was okay. Food was nothing special. Overpriced for ordinary.
The table side guacamole is awesome. The rest of the meal was ok - I've been to the Washington DC location and I find that one to be much better.
Everything was wonderful! From the sangria and guacamole to our wonderful entrees, it’s always a great experience at Rosa Mexicana!
Server seemed too busy for us. Doubt she was sitting down doing nothing; however why would refilling water be so complicated. Was i suppose to keep ordering alcohol for better service? Thanks to management who was walking by that I finally received a refill AFTER eating my diner. Chile relleno needs a refresh. Carnitas are bombs. $40 parking is definitely too much. The OpenTable experience was nice. Shame the restaurant is not up to par. Rosa Mexicano there wont be a next time.
The portions are small. I got only part of my food n was still charged the total amount. Would not recommend to anyone
Food below average
Guacamole wasn’t very impressive or beans!
The service was excellent food was great will be back to try more items from menu
So I am walking in with my family very excited to try this restaurant(Valentine’s Day @ 1pm) and the front person a girl with a black blazer that suppose to greet us with a big smile had the worst attitude and made us feel uncomfortable like we didn’t belong there. So I’m trying to make conversation to break the ice well it didn’t work. She literally just threw the menu at us it was bad, I remained calm because it was a special day with my mother and son. She needs to humble herself. But as soon as our table server approached our table(black lady) she made everything perfect my expectations were met thanks to her. This restaurant needs to hire more people like her not like the girl at the front. Most likely I will never go back just to not deal with a bad experience again.
We had a pleasant evening there. My friend loved the signature pomegranate margaritas. Service was wonderful.
Portions of food are small but quality is good (don't come hungry); Really good chips/salsa and the Cadillac Margarita is great! Atmosphere is just right (not busy) and the décor is spot-on. Overall good experience and perfect for a date (you may want to snack before coming).
Me and some friends decided to eat here after exploring the Grammy Museum. First of all, the guacamole is a must!! They make it right in front of you and it is absolutely amazing! I had the eggs Benedict... which comes with a small portion of potatoes. I love that the portions were just the right size. The eggs Benedict is on sopas, which is good, but a little too on the crunchy side for me. I tried the Mexican Colada, which is served in a very cute little Terra cota cup...it was yummy & refreshing! Nice atmosphere...good service...decent pricing...I’d definitely go again!
Waiters and chefs were very unaccommodating. Food was extremely overpriced and not that great. Overall disappointing.
My family and I have been here several times, however, this weekend, my daughter, her boyfriend and another couple went. They said service was "ok" food was "bad". I asked if they complained and they said no (they are in their 20's and shy) They just said they went to the game and ate there instead. Their final words when I said I was sorry they had a bad meal, was "Let's never go there again, too many other restaurants to choose from in the area"
If you have an event at LA Live or staples center - it's a great place to have a meal. Love the all you can eat rice and beans. Food was overall really good - but definitely a little pricey. Margaritas are on the weak side - we had to order shots to supplement so it got expensive. But overall great experience.
Service was terrible - server didn't show up to take my drink order for 20 minutes until after I arrived. Forgot to bring plate for side dishes. Really unfortunate experience. Wouldn't recommend until they get their act together.
Servers are very friendly. Service is very slow, make sure you have time for a leisurely meal. Food is tasty. Overall enjoyable and will likely return.
Great as always. Tried some new appetizers and they were extremely tasty. The nachos de tres quesos were my favorite. I had the chicken, next time I will try the beef....yum Flautas are also a must try. Love this place before any events in the LA Live center.
Food and service is always been top notch
Great service and staff. Table side Gauc is a must have.
Heading to a concert or LA Live event and need a great meal with great service, this is your place.
Service left a lot to the imagination, didn’t get refills until asked for or checked up on every so often. Also kind of expensive, but decent food.
Gilbert was fabulous ...like a feather, he anticipated our needs at every turn...knowledgeable about the menu...perfect
Best guacamole ever, made right at your table. Been here a few times, never disapointed.
The food was super delicious and the table side guacamole was the best guacamole EVER!!!
We have been many times and has been fine, this time however we had a very bad experience. We were seated and ordered and after 40 minutes asked where our food was, told 5 minutes, after 15 we asked again. We were told that their computer system was down and they didn’t have any idea. The manager came and told us he would comp the meal but could not tell us when our food would come!!! Some folks next to us told us when their food did arrive it was the wrong order and cold. We had a Kings game to go to so had to leave without our food! I wonder what they did in the old days before computers. Haven’t they heard of tickets. If a restaurant and kitchen can’t function without a computer that is very sad. Don’t know when we’ll go again, if you can’t rely on getting your food.
Everyone has a bad dining experience now and then. We just had one at Rosa's.
Our reservation was for 5:45 p.m. and we were seated immediately. We ordered off the DineLA menu, which was 3 course meal (appetizer, main course, dessert). The appetizer did not arrive until 6:40 p.m., almost an hour after we sat down, and about 45 minutes after we ordered.
We had to leave by 7 p.m. for Kings game at Staples, so we were suddenly in a hurry.
To her credit, the waitress (who was very accommodating and did a good job overall) did give us a complimentary guacamole for the delay.
The appetizers finally arrived, and they were good. I had sopes (one with chicken, one with shrimp, and one with guacamole). My girlfriend had the cauliflower soup with bacon. Both were OK. Certainly edible, but otherwise unremarkable.
Eventually one main course came out....it was a sort of shish-kebob of chicken and shrimp. I bit into the chicken and it was raw. I don't mean undercooked; it was raw. I showed it to the waitress who took it back to the kitchen. We waited another 15 minutes....hoping against hope that my entree and my girlfriend's would show up and we could inhale it and run over to Staples, but after 15 more minutes it was 7 p.m. and we had to leave. So we asked for the check.
To their credit, we were not charged anything for our 75 minute stay in their restaurant. But we ended up having to eat hot dogs at Staples instead of a nice meal prior to the game.
I doubt this is the restaurant's standard modus operandi. Perhaps it was because of the special DineLA menu that threw them off their game. I don't know. But there's no set of circumstances under which it should take 45 minutes for the first course of a meal to come out, and definitely no excuse for serving raw or undercooked poultry. If Gordon Ramsey were watching this, he'd take a flamethrower to the kitchen.
But the ambience was nice, and we paid nothing. Which is what it was worth.
