Rosa Mexicano - Los Angeles
Book your next event with us
Food is good, but the service is very slow. Make sure you make a reservation and give yourself 2-3 hours prior to your event.
It is one of the restaurants near Staples Center, so convenient if going there. However, I would
like to try another restaurant in that area.
Enjoyed our dinner
Floors were ver dirty all the tables were very dirty as well food was okay, good to try but won’t be returning!
Have loved eating at the NYC location. This property was just average. The food while good was barely warm; the service polite but overwhelmed; and the restaurant is in need of cleaning and carpet upgrade.
I did a yelp review it was a total thumbs down never again
They were out of two brands of beer as well as our first choice of wine. They did, to their credit, provide a complementary substitute bottle of wine. The food was average, except for the vegetarian tacos, which were below expectations.
Just didn't like the food. I've had much better. But the service was really good.
Worst experience I had on my trip to LA was going to Rosa Mexicana. Service was horrible and nobody seemed to care. We ordered food and 2 hours later we were still waiting and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I will never go back here or refer any of my friends to go here. It's not worth it.
Found hair a piece of hair in our food...not much to say after that..
I want to start by saying I have been here many times & always had a great time & loved the food. This time was horrible, & I will not return & won't recommend.
My husband & I were meeting friends for dinner before the Clippers game. We recommended Rosa's.
My husband & I sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for the other couple. The server came up & immediately said he was so busy. We placed our drink order & waited for our friends.
When our friends came, we wanted to order. So, they did. I couldn't decide yet so was asking his opinion for the two options I was deciding between. He said HE WAS TOO BUSY TO WAIT FOR MY CHOICE & WOULD COME BACK. 1st of all, that's just rude. 2nd, he never came back to take my order.
I have no clue where he went. The other tables in the bar also had this issue throughout the meal. He would disappear, come back flustered & then say he was busy.
The table on our left was a cute young couple on a date. The girl got her food & the guy didn't get his food until maybe 25 minutes later. The sweet girl just sat & waited for him to get food while her meal got cold.
The couple to our right, a family, was begging for water.
A busser finally came & brought them water since the server ignored them.
My friend’s food all came, they ate. Our guacamole came at the end of the meal, I guess they wanted us to have it for dessert instead of our appetizer.
The server didn't come back to get my order, so I went to ask for the manager. He came over took my order & brought me a completely different entree than what I ordered. At this point my friends are all done, the people next to us were still in need as well, so who cares.
On the way out, I spoke to the manager again, who was nice but didn’t have anything to offer. He just listened & said he would talk to the server & the kitchen (the kitchen was not at fault, the food was fine, it took forever & was incorrect, but fine) this was the server not doing his job.
New Year’s Eve dinner was amazing, great job!
Unfortunately we had a very below-average meal at Rosa on NYE. Drinks were weak, filet was overdone, chicken very dry, and salsa and chips meh. And the price (over $100 total for two) compounded the experience. We did appreciate attentive service, but not good enough to make good in a below-average experience.
We will return
Really nice food!
Reserve a table if you plan to visit before a Lakers game!
The meal was freshly made with quality ingredients and the cocktail was refreshing and just right.
Dishes are from various Latin cultures, so be should not expect certain flavors from one particular culture.
I took a group of 10 here for dinner before a show. We all thought the food was just ok for the price. Enchiladas on the plate were cold and sauce was almost stuck to them.
Service was great and drinks were good.
We were celebrating our anniversary and we had a bottle of champagne that we brought to get open. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to come and greet us. The gentleman happened to be the manager who was unaware of our anniversary until we mentioned it to him. After he opened the bottle our serve came by and greet us by saying happy anniversary. As the night went on we got the fondido which was the best plate of the night. When i ordered my entree the waiter returned 5 minutes later telling me it was out already. I ordered another plate and guess what, it was out aswell. At the end i ordered my last dish which was lacking on flavors and couldn’t continue eating it. Over all the expectations were not met. We didn’t even get an anniversary dessert of any kind totally disappointed.
Poor service which caused us to be late to our event.
Worst salsa I have ever tasted (sweet). Seasonings on multiple dishes were just plainly off. I am very disappointed with the food.
Service was poor. Food was cold with bad presentation of what a Mexican dish looks like. Over priced. Waiters need customer service training. Overall not recommended unless you’re very hungry and there is nothing else open.
Food was okay guacamole was pretty good
Dinner before a concert at LA live. Very convenient and great to be able to have reservations, but service is very slow and the food is mediocre at best.
The food was really good, unfortunately the drinks were just ok and service was really slow. There were also dirty tables around us that stayed that way with no one coming to clear them up, it's not so pleasant to have dinner with the table next to you full of trash that has been sitting there for a long time.
Food was very expensive for the quality and amount of food. Typical Mexican food. Cocktails were excellent as was the table side guacamole. We won’t go back unless it’s for appetizers and cocktails. $25 for these small enchiladas.
Fantastic guacamole and really good salsas and chips. No one really cared for their entrees. Very weird Chile relano that was much more like a stuffed bell pepper deep fried and full of two cups of rice. Steak in mole that was just embarrassing. Carnitas seemed ok. Go for appetizers. Just before leaving one person and I stopped at the bar and got two double margaritas just house tequila. I handed the bartender a $50. She was a bit embarrassed and said “it’s $55”. So I gave her another $20. Two drinks for $75. Yet the dinner for 6 including a double order of the guacamole was only $150 so very mixed. We had a great time before a concert. No kidding every single person joked about licking the guacamole bowl.
My husband and I decided to take in a concert on Los Angeles near the Microsoft theater and this place popped up on Open Table. My husband had enchiladas with mole sauce and I had pollo adobado. We ordered queso fundido with chorizo. Each of us had a drink and shared a dessert. Our bill came to $113.00. Very fair for the amount and quality of the food. We LOVED this restaurant. We went on a Saturday at 6 pm and it was packed. The only issue I had personally was I felt the music was too loud. Other than that the service was good and fast for how busy they were.
We will be back! Enjoy!
Rosa Mexicano is a great spot to eat in Downtown LA. Anytime we are going to LA Live or Staples Center, we make it a point to grab dinner here. The food is phenomenal! Every detail is great, from their great Margaritas to their Mexican fusion food.
When I got there at 8:30 the lady at the front desk said my name wasn’t in the reservation list.
The chips and guacamole was the best part of the meal. The guacamole is freshly made table side for you. My girlfriend ordered the Mole Enchiladas, which were really good. I ordered the deep fried Chile Relleno, which was terrible. Plus, it was absolutely cold on the inside. I would not eat there again for the price range. Also, two waiters (and oriental guy with tall hair and a short african-american guy) were arguing next to our table; which i thought was rude because my date and I were trying to have a good time. Our server however, was very nice and apologetic for serving me the cold food.
Very poor service...mediocre food...this was my second visit, was hopeful first time was a fluke but second visit confirmed the worse.
The restaurant has nice ambiance, good service and clean. The food was not that spectacular and the lunch 'special' was highly over priced.
Another great meal before the L A Kings game. The food and service was fantastic.
- pretty disappointing having this restaurant literally in the heart of LA, service was not good at all and i must admit that food was also not what i was expecting it to be. From my server to the food it was definitely not what we were expecting and would definitely not return here.
Service was horrible. Food was just ok. And wayyy too expensive. Wont be going back anytime soon. Save your money and go to El Cholo.
It was busy due to a Laker game, but we were seated right away and the staff was great. The salsa is delicious but we could’ve used more of it. The meals were excellent and the table side guacamole was very, very good (spicy was not overly hot even though it had a lot of jalapeños). The sangria was very good, a little heavier on the triple spec than I’m used to but still very good. I would definitely eat there again.
second time eating here. both time was disappointed by the food. this time, there we 12 of us and only 1 liked their food. took forever for our main dishes to come out and it felt like the food had been sitting for a long time.
Floor was super
Dirty and our waiter was very slow.
Stuck us in a corner and forgot about us. Food took way too long to come out and was over cooked like it just sat there under a heat lamp.
