We went here for brunch because we love their guacamole which is individually made at the table. They individually make you corn bread which is also delicious. The service was outstanding and the manager made sure that we were happy as well. The food was quite good and we ended up taking a lot of it home so we enjoyed it the next day as well.
Perfect restaurant for tequila and anything Mexican!
Always reliable, always delicious and it never disappoints :)
Me and a few friends went here for dinner on a Friday night and it was fairly empty. We thought it would going to be a "fun" and "cool" restaurant but it looked like many foreign tourists and families, not exactly the crowd we were looking for. The service was good, out waitress was very friendly and informative, but our bill ended up being $50 per person (we all got ONE drink, one course, and shared a guac). Very expensive for the quality and quantity of the food.
Overall it was a fine time, but I would not recommend coming here honestly, I was a little disappointed.
Very nice quiet place. Guacamole is FABULOUS
Food was very good and the service was excellent. Our waiter was really friendly and attentive.
Food is always good at Rosa; if not a bit pricey for Mexican. Steven, our server, was most attentive. The cucumber margarita was delicious. I wish Rosa would keep the Chef's Dinner menu, it is a great bargain if you go to an early dinner.
Usually like going but this time service was incredibly slow (at 530pm) with my 2 toddlers. Our waitress basically disappeared after taking our order. Food was fine- kids menu reasonably priced but food just ok. Maybe was an off night?
The food was all very good however the service was not great. Our waiter was very busy but he forgot about us! He took the orders of customers who were seated after us and they were being delivered their food before we even ordered. We were there for literally 30 minutes before our order was taken! Thank goodness we had yummy guacamole to eat while we waited!
The food and atmosphere was great. A little pricey but it is NY so not too bad. The service could’ve been better. Everyone seemed grumpy. Some barely spoke English. We were rushed to order and then we never really saw our waiter again.
Wonderful. Delicious food and unusually gracious service. We were struck by how many tables had young children and yet how quiet it was. It was a lovely grown-up dining experience. And the place is beautiful, with soft lighting attractive decor.
One of our favorite restaurants in New York - food is always good and we come back every time we are in the city!
Definitely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! The meal was amazing - everything from the chips and salsa (which were complimentary) to the churros and Mexican chocolate ice cream! The amazing service was definitely a plus as well.
Servings were perfect sharing size and the price was decent .
Highlights: guacamole (made at your table), chicken quesadillas, shrimp tacos, and churros.
The guacamole and salsa are THE BEST. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
This was my first visit to Rosa Mexicano and I had such a great time I am planning to have my birthday here! Great food, drinks, service and ambiance. Will definitely be coming back!
Love it! Delicious and always welcoming. Wonderful service. Thank you.
I was at Rosa Mexicano for a dinner date...the service was exceptional with very polite and humble patrons that work there. The food is very fresh and the guacamole is the best....you can order it to your taste of mild to spicy....I liked it mild. The ambience was good.....dark and comfy. The only thing was the noise was to a point where I has to ask my date to repeat herself a few times as well as when the waiter came over. Overall, an excellent establishment and I would go back in a heartbeat!
Our first date was at this place 6 years ago. Every year on our anniversary we go there. They always give us the same table we had on our first date. We love this place!
They have an excellent menu and prepare all selections very well. Staff is professional, friendly and attentive.
The restaurant could not have been more flexible or accommodating when I had to change the time of my reservation (twice) !
Have always loved coming here and will continue to do so.
Absolutely loved Rosa Mexicano on 1st Avenue.
The service was excellent, food was mouthwatering and
The best mexican in NYC, I been going since 1980's
for the price point, the restaurant decor doesn't cut it.
Excellent as usual!! Love the margaritas!! one of the two Best Mexican restaurants we go to. Definitely get the guacamole and go for spicy if you can.
Here for a birthday. Service very attentive. Food was fresh and tasty. A little spicy. At
I sphere is same as years past. Could use a freshening.
Love the food and the acoustics are such that you can hear other people at the table.
very good food, best salsa & guac on the planet. insufficient coverage for large crowds - we went for long stretches of time without anyone checking if we were OK and it took a lot of energetic arm-waving to attract attention. still would recommend. show up early and you should be OK.
Host was very flexible in providing the desired table..was very impressed and set the night off just right.
Food was fine as is the case with this place.
Sangria was fantastic..
Just a great time...
Fantastic service and good food. A great way to spend a Friday night surrounded by nice people.
Always enjoyable. However, this time we all found the food too spicy. Please be more moderate!
always consistent, good food, good service, good drinks
Lousy food, poor service
Food was great but service was very slow.
Some of the dishes and drinks were a bit pricey
RM was recommended by a frequent diner at the restaurant. We are happy we followed it.
We enjoy the excellent and interesting menu and the friendly service at this restaurant that, conveniently, is close to home.
Not bad for TeX Mex, but this is not mexican, if you want some drinks and Guacamole then its fine
Great food, great service, great for any occasion.
Eat there everyday, on a date, special occasion. Like a mullet this place is versatile
We had been here several years ago, but had been frequenting the East side Rosa Mexicano during our ballets and concerts at Lincoln Center. However for our anniversary this year we decided to go back to our first love, the First Avenue at 58th Street location. A wonderful choice. We sat at a lovely corner round table in the quieter and more elegant back dining room, away from the more lively but more noisy bar area. As usual, the guacamole, served with warm tortillas, was delicious. It was prepared in front of us from scratch. I had the three enchiladas, each with a different sauce and seasoning, and my husband hd the codfish with fantastic seasonings. We shared a flan for dessert. He had a margarita and i stayed with Sauvignon Blanc. The service was gracious. . A perfect evening.
