The door was so crowded. It was a mess. Once at table - okay
Always delicious and amazing, professional service. Very relaxing. Love coming at the last minute after the Theatre!
Margaritas seem "watered down" and food portions are smaller than they used to be. Guacamole wasn't even very good this time !
Went down hill from the previous times we dined. everything changed on the menu and the food came late and kinda gross. not worth the $$.
But very noisy
Met my cousin visiting from London. Had great drinks food and fun
great! loved it
Came for the Mexican Passover celebration and it hasn’t disappointed in several visits.
Dad night was amazing the food as great !!!!
Fuimos mi esposa y dos hijos. Ambiente alegre y buen servicio. La comida mexicana muy buena. Los margaritas excelentes.
Wonderful meal and excellent service
We usually love Rosa Mexicano — all locations. We went for the third year in a row for their Passover Seder and we were disappointed. Food was average, selections limited compared to past years, service slow. I would return for an every day meal, not for a holiday.
First time here but won't be the last. Friendly staff, good food. Quite busy..glad we had a reservation. No waiting..our table was ready.
Had a reservation and still did not get a top table/room. Told that one had to ask for that.
Also, Handicapped door (entrance and exit) was inaccessible. They apologized profusely but need to correct.
A special experience every time we come here keeps us coming back.
Long time neighborhood favorite of ours. Great food and very attentive and authentic staff.
Guacamole is fabulous, food was fresh & delicious! Service was excellent!
Excellent food. Great service. A great dinner. The best guacamole in New York City, made at the table and served with fresh tortilla chips. An all around great time.
This restaurant is a favorite among the members of our family. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious regardless of what we order; and, the fact that it is within walking distance of our home makes it an inviting place to patronize.
I have been to two of the restaurants. The food is very good. We had excellent service. It was nice to be able to sit and talk without being rushed.
My friend and I went to Rosa Mexicano for my birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. They are known for their guacamole and now I know why. Delicious! Food was great, though my friend had asked for the sauce for her dish to be put on the side (the waiter said it was pretty spicy). It came with the sauce on her tacos and, while she said it was very tasty, it was very spicy and she wasn’t able to finish it. She didn’t want to complain but when the manager came over to see if we enjoyed our meal, I told her about my friend’s dish. She apologized, brought her a glass of milk which gave my friend immediate relief and they didn’t charge us for her meal. For my birthday, they brought over a box with candles and inside was a piece of lime and a shot of tequila. They sang Happy Birthday and put a huge sombrero on my head. Best birthday celebration in a long time! Loved Rosa Mexicano!
My husband and I have dined at Rosa Mexicano, a chain, at many locations, and the 1rst avenue in Manhattan is by far the best venue. The menu does not vary much accross locations, but at 1rst avenue the execution, presentation, and service take it all up a notch. I always ask to sit in the back room away from the bar where it is quiet so we can enjoy our meal and have a nice conversation
This restaurant is very special. Food is excellent and the service exemplary. Strongly recommended.
We enjoy the delicious interesting dishes at this fine neighborhood restaurant.
Truthfully everything was great. The only thing that really kind of hurt them was the wait to get seated. We made an 8:30 pm reservation and didn't get seated until 9:00 pm. It was really crowded and was a little uncomfortable. When asked why the wait was taking so long they said that reservations are done through opentable website and they don't have any control over reservations. Overall the night was Great. My group had a good time. The waiter was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Food was amazing. I have been and will continue come here.
The restaurant was seriously overbooked on Saturday night. We arrived for an 8:15 reservation and could barely get the door open due to the crowd of people around the hostess stand. We were told it would be a few minutes and were finally seated at 8:50. The long and uncomfortable wait set the tone for the rest of the evening.
My niece and daughter dined with me to celebrate my niece’s birthday early..they brought a fancy sombrero and candles with a shot of tequila and sang to her. It was delightful..food was terrific, too.
I've been dining at Rosa Mexicano on First Avenue and 58th since 1987/88, and have frequented the Rosa's in Washington DC (three locations, one of which unfortunately closed) and Miami.
Terrific food, especially the guac and the pomegranate frozen margaritas.
A wonderful experience, professional and contientious servers. Very fine food.
The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I have been to two of your restaurants and have been extremely happy. The food is very good. The prices are very reasonable.
The food is always excellent and the portions generous. I’ve never had anything that I didn’t love.
It was a nice place overall just a little tight on space
Somewhat small and if crowded can be noisy. Food was decent nothing spectacular
I am a returning Costumer for many years
Enjoying my favorite dishes
Waiter was gracious and welcoming. Very competent also!
I have eaten at Rosa Mexicano in many different locations and never had a bad meal until now. The food was tasty but cold, I was really surprised because they got it out to us fairly quickly but it was not hot at all. We did not complain we just ate it and left. I feel for the price your charging you have to keep up the quality.
Great food, as always!!
As always, everything was terrific. From the Valentine's margaritas to the guacamole to special pork dish and so on....all really nice.
The space was a bit tight but I understand that it was a busy day… Valentine’s Day. But the waitstaff was completely knowledgeable and very polite. Recommendations were spot on. Drinks were amazing. Food was amazing.
I'm a big fan of Rosa Mexicano and have been to 3 different locations in NY. The original First Avenue location was always special. I now think it has declined. The Union Square location is now so much better in terms of the ambience, service and food. I was really disappointed for the first time by the food. The guacamole was subpar and we shared the Valentine's menu "may y tierra" for 2 and it just wasn't that good. Shrimp and lobster had little taste, ditto for the Coca Cola braised chicken. Filet was good. Maybe it was an off night but we left a bit underwhelmed.
