What a great restaurant! The service was excellent. They have a new menu which is very diverse and interesting. All the food I have had here has always been delicious! The manager Caroline is wonderful!
Service was absolutely terrible, but the food was great. I’d go back again and just hope for a different server.
Service was non existent. I ordered a drink and it was brought over incorrect. I asked for the drink to be corrected. It took almost 15 minutes. Food was under cooked. Horrible experience. Menus sat on the table the entire meal. Waste of $ and i will never return.
We spent Thanksgiving in NYC - a first. And we were not disappointed! While they had a full menu, we decided to order their version of Thanksgiving dinner - turkey with mole sauce, mashed potatoes with chorizo, served with roasted vegetables. The margaritas were incredible as was the sweet potato bread pudding.
Estephen, our server, was attentive and helpful. We had a corner table, which was also perfect.
Highly recommend - we'll be back!
The quality of food gets more and more disappointing with each visit. The staff was completely overwhelmed this night and the service was awful as a result of it. Was told me table was ready at 8pm( 15 minutes after my reservation time) but they kept us standing their until 835pm. Waitress took our order and never came back to see if we wanted anything else. Highly disappointed in the overall experience.
Rosa on First has changed terribly and incrementally each year over past 15 years. Each year worse and less value than year before. Done with it.
I come to this place a lot, and for the first time I left disappointed., which was unfortunate as I had invited guests from overseas. First, the floor was extremely dirty with food and utensils that were not removed or cleaned until an hour later. We ordered guacamole without cilantro, it arrived with cilantro, we had to ask three times for a hot sauce before it finally arrived. The salt on the rim margaritas hardly had any salt. When we asked to take home the food, they packed only the meat, although there was a great mushroom sauce that came with the meat, and also tortillas etc. This is not the standard Rosa Mexicano is known for and I hope they get back in the game!
Overall a very good experience. Only issue was that we were a party of 5 and the 5th person was seated at the end of the table and the servers kept bumping into him.
The food and drinks were delicious. Only negative is that the waiter did not ask us whether we would like another. After the first drink, waiter silence. But apart from that, the waiter was exceptional also,
Made reservation but got there early and they sat us right away. Filled water glasses and could see they weren’t clean. Waiter noticed I was looking at glass and immediately removed all four glasses.... took awhile to get new ones!! Opened menu and found something stuck on menu, almost looked like a squashed worm.... gross. Guacamole was good . My dish was sort of a chicken fatitas but chicken and veggies were stuck to sauce/cheese on bottom of plate. Like it was microwaved maybe. Very unappealing looking..... didn’t eat much except chips and guacamole. Rarely have I eaten at a place that turned me off so much.
Visiting from Chicago with a friend, this restaurant was recommended. Everything was delicious! Margaritas were strong! But good! Make sure to order the guacamole made tableside.
Food is delicious and authentic - service was excellent
Terrible service , but I already wrote an angry letter. Service was slow and inattentive. Birthday celebration was a bust. Cold food and completely inattentive service. Had to get up several times to summon anyone from the wait staff. What happened? Used to be our favorite restaurant
Abbiamo aspettato più di un’ora dall’ordine.
Food is always delicious and the staff accommodating and polite
Everyone in this establishment is friendly, professional, and graciously accommodating:)
usually this is a great place, but they forgot my appetizer and half of my + my friend's entree order, we got carne but no pollo + had to take it home
I have been to this restaurant many times. This visit we were seated by the entry and found it noisy due to the constant flow of other diners being seated, and the service was quite slow (although the famed table- side guacamole came quite promptly). Visitors to Rosa should not expect Tex-Mex but should review the menu before they come. The portions are ample and overall it is always a good experience.
Food is great- consistent across locations. Ambience here is not as good as Union Square. Service was excellent from out waiter but the other staff were not so attentive. The nachos are a pretty cool dish to see them prepare but our server decided to do it behind my back instead of in front of us where we could see it all done.
We have been coming here for years and it NEVER disappoints! Menu has changed but still loving the guac and pomegranate margarita!
This is the second time in a few months that I haven't had a great experience here. This past time service was incredibly slow, the margaritas were all ice, food was served cold, and just wasn't as tasty as it usually is. Hopefully they will improve
Very slow service for a group of 8. Was not busy and had no reason to be treated so poorly. Had to get up to ask for a manager multiple times to track down our drinks and food.
I've been going to this restaurant for about 3 decades, almost as long as they've been open. It never disappoints. I love the authenticity of the Mexican food and the decor. The best guacamole in town and great margaritas as well.
I've been to Rosa dozens of times and always love it. Quality slipped a little last Sat. due to a packed dining room. Still very good, but not on par with the best I've had at Rosa.
Great Day of the Dead menu ! Good food and service as always
All the food was awful. They changed their menu and even the guacamole (which is usually good) was not great. Won’t be back.
The host was lp
All white wine offerings were truly terrible, margaritas were watered down and food was so spicy we couldn’t eat most of it. Used to be such a great place to eat. Not going back!!
Worst experience by far. Terrible service - we were ignored
Great dinner, I would absolutely recommend getting the guacamole for the table. The meal was great, although portions were a little small. Complementary chips and salsa.
The wait time for the food to come out was horrible. We found ourselves staring at each other trying to figure out what the problem was... plus we only ordered simple meals including soup.
Apparently “unlimited” brunch drinks means they can cut you off when they feel like they’re not making money on you anymore and then the manager (Caroline) comes over and shames you and your friend for drinking too much and celebrating a birthday. Won’t be returning ever.
Very poor food including cold scrambled eggs, an eggs Benedict covered in oil and stale tortillas. Would never return.
My wife and I had a great time! The staff was friendly and very attentive. Rosa always does a wonderful job.
Everything we had was amazing. Definitely give this location a try.
Drinks was great and the Mexican food was on par with taste and flavor.
The chicken “pie” was outstanding, and so were margarita’s!!
Menu changed. Entrees we wanted are now appetizers
I won’t go again😢
