The 3 enchilada plate was basically tasteless. It was also drab looking - no garnishes. Accompanying beans were gluey and Luke warm.
It's difficult to mess up Mexican food and I am usually forgiving because I love it so much but the salsa was sweet and watered down and not edible. We also ordered their famous guacamole medium spicy and it had no spice to it. Pretty disappointing visit.
Loved the restaurant, it's directly across from Capital One Arena so we pre-gamed there before a Wizards playoff game. Just great all around food and atmosphere.
The table-side, freshly made guacamole was fantastic!
An absolutely wonderful meal and amazing dessert. We had great service! This was our second visit to the restaurant. It’s now one of our favorites!
Food was good, Guacamole very good. Very loud environment, due to the number of people, restaurants now a days squeeze as many people as they can for obvious reasons. This has been a going trend, restaurateurs feel that loud equals an energetic atmosphere but for someone who likes to talk during dinner this hampers the conversation.
Good atmosphere and a great place to get delicious Mexican food. Definitely a place to go for a nicer occasion since the price range is a little high for a typical dinner out. The fresh guacamole is not something to miss!
Always a great meal. Love the tableside guacamole.
I loved the food at Rosa and my server, who was incredibly attentive and prompt in light of our need to get to the theater on time. All the food exceeded my expectations. My only complaint was the noise level, but that's a problem everywhere I go.
Very good service wish i could say the same about their food. Carnitas had no flavor...but I find Mexican food in DMV lacking.
If there was the option of putting no stars, I will totally put that for the food. This is because it was not that great, falls below my expectation. Also, there was a weird smell of sweat in the restaurant. And definitely overpriced for such quality of food.
The quality and taste of the food has decreased tremendously. The service was also poor. It took over 30 mins to get our lunch.
Food was over cook and really just not good. High price for low quality. Very disappointing.
Our table was 45 minutes late so we had to eat crammed at the bar, which was five people deep. It was a madhouse, and so loud we couldn't hear each other even though we were practically standing on top of one another - totally unpleasant.
We were looking forward to a fun night before a concert nearby and made a reservation at Rosa even though we had many choices booking early. When we arrived, our server asked us if we liked mild, medium, or spicy guacamole, even before taking our drink order. Then we were brought a large cauldron of guacamole, which unbeknownst to us, was over $15. We also ordered the shrimp quesadilla to share, which was horrible and almost inedible. These two items and 4 margaritas, ( which were brought to us in small water glasses at $15+ each) cost us over $100. One of the worst meals ever. Never again at Rosa.
We had frozen mango margaritas and they were delicious. The server came by often to check on us and I appreciated that. The food was very good and seemed to be made authentically. We arrived at 4:30 on a Tuesday for dinner and it was very quiet. By the time we left at 6:30 pm, people were standing three deep in the bar, every table was full, and the lobby was impossible to navigate. You definitely need reservations for this restaurant and I wonder if they can seat people on time as the evening goes on.
Guacamole was fantastic. The dish I ordered (Braised beef taco) was not good. It was dry. But I would be willing to try something else before making a decision to not come here again. Service was GREAT!
We had a terrible lunch. Every single thing was over cooked and dry. We did eat at 3:00 so maybe we got the leftovers of lunch, but for a $100 lunch for 2 adults and a kid with only one drink... not worth it.
On the plus side, beautiful ambiance.
Great meal before concert.
Fantastic service all around...
Addie and other servers, in the bar area, aims to please her customers
The homemade guacamole there is the best - like best guacamole I have ever had
Had a great dinner! Server was excellent. Get the guac - you will not be disappointed! Margaritas were super strong - no complaint there! Great value for what we got.
The whole evening was great. We are already scheduled to go back next week.
Nice seating outside. Guacamole was great
Came here for Saturday brunch. We were seated promptly and our food was awesome. The skillet cornbread was to die for. Atmosphere is laid back so be sure to leave plenty of time to enjoy.
The food and drinks were excellent. Our server did take a little while to come back to us but our interactions were very pleasant.
We enjoyed our table and the atmosphere. The noise by the bar was excessive as one large party seemed extremely loud so we were happy to be seated by the front window away from the noise.
Service was spotty. The waitress did not come over frequently unless we called her over. The table side Guacamole was great, but the entrees we just ok. Seemed a bit over cooked for a few of the orders.
Love the margaritas, guacamole, and chips and salsa.
Best guacamole spicy margaritas!
Fabulous authentic Mexican. Guacamole made tabkeside is ace. Great margaritas. Server was fabulous. Highly recommend
the food and service here are both spectacular. you can't go wrong.
Friend had found a table near the bar. It was towards the end of Happy Hour and things were very energetic. Had to ask for everything from chips/salsa and a glass of water to ordering and paying. It was busy but the waiter lacked luster. The brisket tacos I had came with a lot of spice heat. Not much balance. Margaritta was chunky and not evenly blended. Maybe table service is better?
Good food and drinks located right across from the Event Center. Even without a hockey or basketball game, the place was packed and loud. I think it’s a bit overpriced, but the amount of business they had would suggest others may not think that way. Service was okay.
Hostess staff were very friendly and gladly held our luggage while we ate
Guacamole was awesome. Tortilla soup was so so
Great guacamole!
Excellent choice for a birthday celebration. Great location and perfect for special occasions.
The restaurant is beautiful. Nice and clean. Good was very good and nicely priced. Beers are outrageous. The only bad was the hostess could not find my reservation because she could not understand my name.
We had dinner at Rosa Mexicano during our visit to DC. We chose the restaurant because of the reviews it had. However we were very disappointed with the restaurant. We felt the service was terrible and the food wasn’t very good at all and extremely overpriced. The chips and salsa were great but everything else was terrible. It was by far the worse meal we had while we were in DC. Don’t waste your money.
Overall the food was good. I have not been there in awhile. It was a very full restaurant and the service was attentive and prompt. I found the portions, compared to the many times I have dined here, to be a bit skimpy, on the small side. We needed to order an additional guac order to accommodate 4 persons which was unusual. The other portions were also smaller than recalled. Perhaps it was the fullness of the restaurant but it is always busy and I do like the energy that gives off. I will be back but not running.
