Rosa Mexicano - DC Ratings and Reviews
I have been to the Rosa Mexicano restaurants in NYC and was curious to see how the D.C. compared. Well, I loved this location! As per usual, excellent guacamole and margaritas. Their menu consisted of full mexican entrees, fresh tacos, quesadillas, and delicious appetizers. We had the fish tacos and shrimp quesadilla, along with an order of guacamole, and empanadas. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for upscale Mexican food, the best guacamole you will ever eat, and a fun atmosphere .... this is the place. Once again I am happy with my experience at a Rosa Mexicano location. Thank you.
This past visit the guacamole - which is usually outstanding - wasn't up to par. My dish , which I also have had before, shrimp tacos, were also not as tasty. Maybe due to a different chef/kitchen staff? However, I'm sure we will return because we usually have better meals at this location in Gallery Place.
Food was good. Four of us ordered our meals. One meal was served 15 minutes before the other three. When we asked our server, she said the quesadilla was an appetizer (although it’s not listed under appetizers) and offered no solution. Nor when it was ordered did she inform us that that dish would be served before the others. Very disappointed in this.
Rosa Mexicano is always a good spot. Food is fresh, service is good and price is pretty reasonable by D.C. standards. The location for someone who attends a lot of events at Capital One Arena is ideal and the wait staff always gets me out before the game. It's a place you really can't go wrong with if you like Mexican.
Before we got I received a phone call to checked on my reservation, the hostess was very helpful. We seat on the bar and have a few drinks, the bartender was friendly and always checking on us. When we got to out table, we order appetizers and they came quick, the waiter was very professional and friendly. Overall the experience was amazing, the food was amazing.
My friend and I️ went to Rosa Mexicano after work before a show at the National Theatre. We made a reservation ahead of time, which was a good idea because it was very busy (which is expected for a Friday evening!) It was a bit crowded at our table, but the drinks and food were quick and delicious!
It was not what we expected. The food were too spicy, more than the median for an USA Mexican restaurant. Do not try it's Michellada!! I can't describe what it taste to, very bad flavor. The portions are smaller than the average Mexican restaurants.
I totally love this place. The spicy guacamole is to die for and come with "warm chips". Usually. For whatever reason, the chips were not warm. Asked for some warm chips. Got more of the same. Asked again.... still not warm. Not sure what the problem (warming lights not on/not hot) was but for whatever reason, the lack of warm chips left something to be desired. I REALLY enjoyed my spicy cucumber cocktail though.... and the Caps won!
