Good food. Service was slow but friendly. I'd be willing to give it another try.
No better place to grab a quick bite and margarita before the Caps games!
Great food and good atmosphere- the service was a little slow at first, but other than that we had a great time!
I've been to Rosa Mexicano many times and I love the food here. Their Tres Enchiladas are amazing and I love the tableside Guacamole. However, this visit was before a concert at Capital One arena and the place was so packed and busy that our server barely spoke with us. She never introduced herself by name and she brought us a huge bowl of crushed chips. I tried to get her to bring another but she would not respond to my request to visit the table. This was disappointing as I love this place. Lesson learned: Do not go before a huge event at Capital One. When you get bad service like that, you just don't ever want to chance it.
Family Night Out! Our first family dinner out in the city and we enjoyed EVERYTHING!!
Very nice restaurant in a great location in downtown DC. Warm reception at the door. We did have reservations which would be suggested. The food was just great! The side table prepared guacamole was very good. I got the pork shank and it was very very good. The service we very good. The cocktails were very good, but the margaritas are a bit on the “sweet” side so ask them to tone it down a bit if you like less syrup. Place is a bit noisy, but it does have nice decor and great energy. Would recommend to my friends. - PETE
We had a great time. Great food and great service.
Frozen pomegranate margarita and the table side were fantastic. So many options on the menu that look amazing as did the all of the food I saw delivered to tables around me.
Dinner was amazing! The food and service were exceptional and I'm excited to go back!
This is a must if you are in the area. Authentic and fresh!
The food was great and the service is unmatched. The food was not as expensive as the atmosphere of the restaurant would make it seem.
Very good food and excellent service given how busy it can get on game nights. Recommended!
Rosa Mexicano has very attentive staff. We enjoy meeting here with friends because the restaurant, including bathrooms, are ADA accessible, so everyone in your family can join you. The only issue I have is that it's quite loud and hard to hear... but itis that type of restaurant. If you want to enjoy acelebration with family and friends with delicious food, this is your place. For long, in depth conversations, check out a quieter place.
Rather noisy and chaotic by the time we left at 7:15.
Good food, great service. It’s a solid upscale Mexican restaurant.
Place was packed before a hockey match. Service and food quality were impacted.
Atmosphere is terrific and food is always great. Wait staff very attentive. Can’t beat the location - right across the street from Gallery Place metro.
Have been to NYC Rosa Mexicano several times in last few years- the tableside guacamole was better in NYC than DC- just based on this 1 experience. Had a little trouble hearing/understanding the soft-spoken server. Service was fast, chips and salsa good. Window seat.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
One of our friends got sick from the smell and didn’t touch her food and had to leave yet they charged full price for a meal that wasn’t touched. Also not very attentive waiter.
Our experience at Rosa Mexicano was great, our server was excellent. We loved our night out, the service was also great.
This was a date night treat and it didn't disappoint. Although the noise level made conversation a bit challenging. The guacamole was some of the best I've had. And the queso fundido was also delicious. Creamy and salty with homemade tortillas tasted even better with the margarita. Both entrees we excellent with perfectly cooked carne asada. Will definitely return, but for a social occasion , as it can get pricey with drinks.
Being new to the area, we are trying lots of new places. Rosa Mexicano is consistently packed every time I've walked by, so I thought we should try it. It was a great experience. The famous table side guacamole and pomegranate margarita were yummy. I made a reservation via opentable and walked right in with lots of people waiting on a Saturday night. Perfect!
The food was very good. Unfortunately it seemed like the waiter was deliberately ignoring us. And it was quite loud. But still a fun and lively place. Great location.
Dinner w 10 friends - place was accommodating in terms of space. Service and food qulity was great too. We thought their promegranate frozen margarita was overrated, but all the other drinks were pretty good. Definitely cool place to hangout at.
Decent food but overpriced for the quality. However guacamole and margaritas were excellent
Unimpressed. Decent food for too much money - service was slow.
The reception staff rescued my error in making a reservation for four when I really meant five—a big error for restaurant management to handle, but they made it so smooth and easy that no one noticed, and it a packed bar and restaurant. As ever, a good meal.
Expensive and too few vegetarian options for a Mexican restaurant. Good vegetarian "fajitas" though. Very attentive service at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday. Was crowded with a wait by the time we left at 7:00.
Great table side guacamole. Good drinks. Great food. Love the Arrachera.
The waiter was rude and looked annoyed. The food was cold and they didn’t do anything for my daughters birthday even though I asked. The kids didn’t like their simple quesadillas.
Very accommodating for our group of 5.
3 veterans / 2 virgins - new folks enjoyed the new experience of Rosa!
I love the food here I go here whenever I have the chance sometimes the service is trash depending which server you have because most of them are on it the most recent time I visited I had a female server can not remember the name but i didn't like her she wasn't refilling our drinks she took the orders and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay but other than that one time I love this place.
What a disappointment, we had such high expectations. Our dinner came out at all different times. The food was over spicy, over cooked, burnt steak and taco meat that looked like something I would not serve my dog. It was as far from authentic as possible. Not worth the anticipation, wait or the cost. Go to Taco Bell it’s much better.
Cost was very high for the OK food that we ate, we were overcharged.
No happy, I wont comeback to this place again and I won't recommended either.
Great place!! Very friendly and food was absolutely delicious!! They have a huge guacamole table and would have had that if I liked guacamole, it looked that cool!! Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.
The food was good but the restaurant was very loud.
Good food, but we were seated in the back room with a very unsteady table.
Overall it was fine but we asked for medium spicy guacamole and it was very bland. The services was okay - our server tried hard but he had a lot of tables and they were quite large. As for ambience, it was more touristy than I expected.
Food was awful-no flavor-bland. Service wasn't much better either the waiter and wait staff were arrogant. I'll never dine again.
