Overall it was fine but we asked for medium spicy guacamole and it was very bland. The services was okay - our server tried hard but he had a lot of tables and they were quite large. As for ambience, it was more touristy than I expected.
Food was awful-no flavor-bland. Service wasn't much better either the waiter and wait staff were arrogant. I'll never dine again.
I was pleased to get a reservation right after our event at Capital One Arena. Booked the reservation just an hour ahead while sitting in the arena. I thought the prices seemed extremely reasonable considering the location. The food was pretty good. It’s a little nicer than our average Mexican restaurant and had its own take on some of the meals which was nice. My only complaint was my skirt steak was a little tough
Great place, will definitely return next time in DC
Rude front desk. Loveless bar service. Average food at best. Ambience of a hospital waiting room. No comparison to other sister restaurant. Bummer
We love Rosa Mexicana! The guac is always great, and the tacos are very tasty. I love the real corn tortillas. The margaritas are very good, too. The service is fast, makes it good for pre-theatre in Penn Quarter. And they are open after the theatre, too for great desserts.
Food was decent, not exceptional. A bit overpriced for what you get. Good location for attending events at the Capital One arena.
It was a busy Friday, with event across the street at the arena, but online reservation worked. Busy, lively atmosphere. Cocktails were satisfying, with a broad assortment of margaritas and beer. Service was attentive and helpful at all times without being intrusive. Guacamole is handmade at your table and outstanding. A must! Our dinners were good portions and drew raves. I had the Tres enchiladas, and the sauces were the best I have had anywhere. Will definitely be returning.
Great service and food! Always enjoy going there!
Our first visit to Rosa Mexicano. We were celebrating a birthday. It was amazing, and we will definitely return. Service was exceptional and the food very fresh.
I agree with others reviewers. Everything was okay, but too expensive for the quality of food provided. The staff was great.
I feel like the waiters could have visited the table more. The server I had was very nice but it would’ve been better if we saw her more throughout the dinner.
It was difficult to navigate the menu with my dietary restrictions but I was able to find something I could eat and it was delicious! My husband liked his meal as well. Water cups were a little crusty and dirty but service was great and everything else went very well.
Great guacamole, although for the price I would have hoped for a lot more. The cauliflower soup was fantastic but the chicken skewer dish was just okay. Chicken was a little dry and there was a lot of rice and not a lot of chicken.
My team comes to town once a month, and we always enjoy the delicious food, consistently great service and drinks. We’ve been meeting here for a year. They love this place!
Rosa Mexicano is our go-to restaurant for Mexican when visiting DC. The place is amazing and the food is to die for!! We especially enjoy when the kids work with the staff for the guacamole appetizer (my daughter is 16 and still looks forward to this). Remember to make reservations though... it is very busy!
Excellent -- Everytime! Been here several times and it's always good food and good service. We go before Caps games and recommend reservations to be sure you get a table.
Arrived early for our reservation but we were seated immediately. Waiter was a little quirky. He "explained" the menu to us which we didn't need. We expected him to ask if we wanted cocktails (which we did) but he didn't do so until 5 minutes later. Another waiter tried to put a bowl of gaucamole in front of us when we hadn't yet ordered. After that, everything went smoothly. The drinks were good. My dish, Pescado Primavera, fish w/veggies topped with shrimp and mushrooms, was excellent. The fist was hot and cooked perfectly. My wife had the Alambre a la Mexicana, skewered filet mignon and chorizo. She gave it a good. Not a rave review though she did find the accompaniments quite appealing
