Food was poorly seasoned. Ceviche had no flavor at all. Steak was rubbery and lacked flavor.
Sooooo tasty and so awesome!
Awesome dining experience.
Was overall the perfect place for our evening out!
Great menu and very convenient place for attending an event at Capital One Arena. The food is generally very good--high end mexican. I was a bit disappointed in the entree this time, which was a steak/chicken combination. The chicken in particular was overdone and a bit tough. It's fairly noisy but that's ok.
Service was a bit slower than normal. We had to wait for our table to be cleaned in the bar area and took a while to order drinks and refills.
We are regulars and this our favorite Mexican restaurant by the fish was dry and the server was inattentive and rushed. We asked for sauce in the side and when the dish was brought with the sauce on the entre he told us we had not asked for it on the side. Not a pleasant experience this time around.
I went for my birthday. The food was amazing, like always. The only downside was it was packed, but being that it was a Friday night, it was expected. They got us to a table maybe 10 minutes after we arrived for our reservations, and they put us in a quieter section of the restaurant. I highly recommend Rosa Mexicano to everyone, especially the carne asada
Despite there being four people behind the front desk when we walked in, they were so busy arguing about something that they didn’t even stop to greet us. We stood there in front of them until we decided we’d have to interrupt their quarrel, otherwise we’d be standing there for who knows how long. Not welcoming or professional at all. The food is mediocre, it’s loud, and the service isn’t great. We were able to get a reservation last minute on a Friday night and I can see why. For the price point, there are many other options in the area that are far better.
Excellent Mexican food!
Service was terrific. Super attentive!
Would go back.
Their Guacamole is absolutely fantastic, the empanadas were also fantastic, and I could continue... Great place, great service.
I have been going here regularly since it opened. The service we received was not good. We waited a long time to place our drink and food order. Chips were cold and stale. I hope this isn’t the norm or I won’t be a regular any more.
Great, creative Mexican food. Wonderful flavors. It is a little expensive, but well worth it.
Food is portrayed as authentic Mexican, but the food was not more Southwest. The temperature of the food was not hot and overall it is overpriced for the quality of food being served. Drinks were good.
They took a long time to bring the food to our table, and when we were ready to eat, we noticed the food was cold and seemed that the food was sitting in the kitchen for a long time and neglected to serve it right away. The juices of the steaks were dry on the plate, and the sauce on one of the dishes was kind of crusty. It was very disappointing.
Most disastrous brunch I’ve ever been to. Ordered bottomless mimosas, the drinks never came even after we repeatedly asked and then had to just cancel them. The food took over an hour and was cold when it came. My entire group had to speak with the manager and left when the food arrived. They were nice and didn’t charge us for anything but it was absurd. Disappointing because I’ve had some nice dinners there
We arrived early for a reservation and the hostess began to seat us in a secondary room, with no other guests. I asked to be re-seated in the main dining room and they accommodated us. I am always curious if when it is two women they just think they can get away with this. Our service was horrible, two tables arrived after us and were fed and had their check before we were served. The food was OK. I am very disappointed as the last time I went to this restaurant a few years ago it was quite good. I will not return.
We went for brunch on an understandably busy day, so I don't know if this review holds for less busy days, but we were unimpressed by Rosa Mexicano. Since it was so busy, our waiter was running around and service was slow, for both the food and drinks. We opted to do the bottomless drinks for brunch, and the slow service meant that we were able to get fewer drinks than we wanted. The food was average, although the guacamole and cornbread were excellent. We didn't end up finishing some of the dishes because they just weren't appealing.
Gluten free options were plentiful and clearly marked (including the delicious gluten free cornbread served with every entree!)
Overall, nothing was awful, but I won't be going back. For ~$50 total, there are just so many better options for brunch in DC.
One of our favorite places to eat in DC. Great location. Easy to get a table after the game starts.
good pre-Caps spot for a nice dinner. Guacamole superb as always.
special was completely described wrong and then would not have
ordered it if correct desciption was given
Our party enjoyed the restaurant before capitals game.
Noice level was the only issue or also lack of more restrooms
Thank you for the pleasant time spent at your Restaurant!
Good lunch deals though pricey for dinner. Good quality food
I never write feedback but this was the worst dining experience we have ever had in DC. The food was cold. Service was slow. We had food that was ordered, not delivered then our server implied that we were being disingenuous when the bill arrived and we pointed it out. The back room was freezing and had terrible ambiance. We were treating guests in from out of town and it was utterly embarrassing.
The service is good and appetizers are great, I can't understand how the chips are dry and don't have any taste, and the guacamole is too spicy Love the drinks and presentation of the food.
too noisy; there should be a quiet section--other than outside (which was too cold for using)
Excellent food. Service was a little slow but it was nice not to be rushed. Their drinks are very strong and sour so not a fan of the bar. The food is incredible. It is extremely noisy but many places are.
Busy place on a Tuesday evening
Good just ok
Good chips & salsa
Eminem was great. The good wa so
Sat for nearly 10 minutes just to get greeted by the waiter. We ended up leaving before anyone came to our table. They sat us in a back corner by a very large and noisy party. Prefer their location at National Harbor.
Wait staff was relaxed. Nice but an hour lunch took 90 minutes due to inattentive staff.
Water and chips and salsa took a little long for the restaurant being so empty, but staff was friendly and food was great!
I was very disappointed in my recent visit to Rosa Mexicano. Previously, it was one of my "go to" restaurants. However, the menu has changed, with what seems like many fewer entries at higher prices. For example, I loved the poblano chicken mole enchiladas; they are no longer on the menu. For $25, I got a mix of three chicken enchiladas with no beans or rice. In addition, the service was very slow. I will think twice before returning.
Rosa Mexicano is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in WDC. The food is fresh, varied, and beautifully prepared. The guacamole is the best in the area. If you order nothing else, get that. While you can get tacos and quesadillas, these often have interesting variations that take them beyond the ordinary. The current menu features dishes from different areas of Mexico, a new and tasty approach. Rosa Mexicano is across the street from the Capitol One Arena (formerly the Verizon Center), and very close to the Shakespeare Theatre. Due to the frequency of big events at those two venues, dinner reservations are highly recommended.
Very poor service. It was busy, so I tried to give our server the benefit of the doubt but it was truly inexcusable
Very loud, bad food, not worth the $80
The service was slow, drinks did not come immediately... portions very small
