   It’s obvious that this location has seen better days. Bar was dingy, food was served room temperature or cold with little attention to detail, and the ambiance has lost its former glean. The attentive service was the only plus.

   I have been going to Rosa for over a decade. It was the go to place for me and my family before going to the opera or ballet at Lincoln Center. This is NOT the same restaurant as before. The quality of the food has gone down significantly. No flavor to the food and the portions were all over the place. The service was the worst part. The waiter barely checked in with us about our needs and we were ignored the whole night. In addition, the table we were seated at for two was TINY! It barely fit our food and it was incredibly uncomfortable. I spoke to the manager who honestly did not seem to care about our poor experience. Needless to say but I will not be coming back to Rosa Mexicano. Waste of money for food and service that was terrible.

   Great location, ambiance good, but food was absolutely horrible! Ordered spicy guacamole. Had to send back because bland and no heat. Ordered Shrimp Cervechi - few shrimp smothered in heavy sweet chili sauce. NOT cervechi! Worst was “Poblano Pepper- good for sharing”. I ended up getting a raw poblano pepper filled with some bad tasting dry beans and rice-like stuffing. No cheese at all. Pepper was crunchy with no seasoning. A small covering of sprouts covered the slit in the pepper. Serves in a bath of tomato soup. Most pathetic food I have ever eaten. $15 margarita was served in a small juice glass. We will never go back to this poor excuse of a restaurant.

   Wow, this place is cramped and run down. Really hectic and disorganized service. Mediocre food. But the restaurant itself is just dirty and ill maintained, small tables crammed close to each other, and servers constantly in the way.

    The place has good food but you can’t get near the bar because people are eating. Reservations are a must but you need to remind them you are there. If you are seeing a show at Lincoln Center give yourself enough time because you may be delayed.

    The quality of Rosa has gone down drastically. The service is bad because there aren’t enough waiters. The food is average. The bathroom has no soap in it and even after telling the hostess there was no soap before we left. Overall a poor experience for what we paid.

    The food was not good. The service was terrible. Our waitress argued with us about whether we ordered a Coke. Just bring us the coke. But the food was just not good. The Migas’ omelette was a total disaster. The Mexican rice with the kids chicken quesadillas was so dry that it is either undercooked or recycled from yesterday.

    Such a tragedy. This restaurant used to be amazing, for decades. Why they felt they needed to go and ruin the menu we will never understand. We used to eat there monthly sometimes more, recommended to more people I can count, never will now, and we’ll never eat there again, so, so sad.

    We were looking for a place for 8 people - including two kids - that was quiet enough that we could talk. Rosa Mexicano was perfect! Good food for adults but with kid-friendly options, not too noisy, good service but not rushed. Ideal for what we were looking for.

    I always have great meals at Rosa Mexicano. Thanksgiving was no different: it was a great meal, a great way to spend the holiday. My friends and I had a terrific time.

    Used to be the "gourmet" mexican food place. Very high end. Two locations in NYC. Has slipped significantly since it's become a chain with multiple locations in many states. Made-on-site guac is still good though! Menu is unispired.

    They were short on staff as so many places are nowadays so it took a lot of arm waving to get any service. I had an 8 o'clock performance to attend so time was somewhat of the essence. When my food arrived it was barely warm. I last ate there over 10 years ago and it was an excellent experience all around so this time around I was disappointed. To end things on a more positive note my waitress was very kind and did her best to work the room. Also the cosmorita margarita was delish...

    I very much enjoyed my chicken tortilla soup and steak tacos, and my friend liked her cheese enchiladas with mole poblano sauce. I have a huge criticism, though, about the check-in process. I arrived promptly at the time of my reservation, but had to stand amidst a crowd of people hovering around the hostess station. The hostess repeatedly instructed us to form a line, but there was no physical space in which a line could form. Some people stepped to the left, others to the right, while more people continued to arrive. It's a bad design. When the hostess finally asked for my name, I gave it and expected to be seated. She informed me, though, that since my friend had not yet arrived, I could not be given a table, since the restaurant's policy is only to seat complete parties. I pointed out that whether my party was one person or two, we'd still be using one two-top. The hostess shook her head "no." I then pointed out that I was on time, and she responded that since the whole party was not on time, the whole party was late. I was quite annoyed by this interaction. Fortunately, I was allowed to sit outside in an unheated area, and the waiter was very nice. My friend joined me and we ate our dinner outside while shivering. I don't plan to return, despite the delicious food. I don't need that kind of aggravation at the end of a long work day. I strongly suggest you work to improve your reservation/check-in process.

    I thinks it’s time restaurants seat you even when all haven’t arrived. I was lucky to get a seat at the small bar but I got the last ones. My friends were delayed by 30 minutes. The host should have seated me.

    Ok, so. My son has wanted to go back to Rosa’s for over a year. And it didn’t disappoint. It was delicious! Our waiter was outstanding very on point with us. He answered all our questions, and was a refreshing change from servers we’ve been getting. The food…we had the birria tacos and queso for apps. Tacos were very good we could’ve eaten 3 more. The queso was more cream than cheese this time, it was good but last time was better, still demolished it though. I had the queso enchiladas in mole sauce (omg! So good!!!) and my son had the brisket enchiladas. I’m surprised his eyes stayed in his head cause he kept rolling them and saying “so good” after every bite. We also had the burrachas frijoles, sautéed spinach and Mexican rice. All very worth it. The corn side we didn’t care for, but that’s just us. Dessert was tres leche(I’ll be honest it was a little dry but the whip cream and strawberries with it? Yum!) and churros which were very tasty but I was too full to finish. We were there early on a Sunday so it was quite, and we enjoyed people watching out the windows. We love Rosa’s, and are thinking of trying all their locations so we can see which we like best.

    All food was terrific and moderately priced. We loved the guacamole as always, and ordered Parilladas for 4 people……astonished on how much food and the tasteful quality of the chicken, chorizo, steak and shrimp included. And the sides were abundant and delicious. We thought this dish was a bargain. As always there are great margaritas and “fun” ambience. Fabulous dinner!

    Great environment, steak tacos were delicous as were the drinks! We were 15 minutes late and they sat us no problem. One negative is we asked for spicy guacamole and got regular guacamole. Overall definitely recommend!

    Came for a quick guacamole post-theatre. The food was delicious! We asked for a table "far away" and we got one -- but it was in a "private room" (where there were three open tables for two, in addition to the long banquet table). The private party was assembling as we were there so no issue for us...but clearly awkward for those coming to the party. WHY WERE THESE OTHER PEOPLE IN THEIR ROOM?? This was particularly odd as there were at least four or five tables for two outside in the main part of the restaurant along the stair railing. We had our lovely guacamole and asked for and were brought saltless chips - all good. When we got up to leave one of the guests at the big party apologized for "driving us away." Entirely unnecessary from our perspective but it did make me wonder why we had been put in that room at all. Very odd.

    We made a 12:15 reservation for a birthday lunch. Our table was in the corner of an empty room. We were offered only the brunch menu. We were about to leave and asked the server for a lunch menu which she was more than happy to provide. Not sure why the manager offered only the brunch menu on a Saturday afternoon. We have had many good experiences at this and other Ross Mexicano locations. So, we’ll come again as we hope this was just a bad day.

    Walked in and the woman at the desk had her head down. After about 30 a finds I said “excuse me” and she looked up. I’m later found out she had not checked in our reservation and it looked like I did not show. She said upstairs is closed. I could see people. “Bar or table”. The empty guacamole bowl sat at out table for the entire meal. The waiter was unfriendly. When I asked for a frozen margarita he asked twice for what kind. I said a regular. He asked again. Empty and unused dishes sat on our postage stamp of a table forever. Inattentive, terse, careless, slow, unfriendly service. The absolute worst I’ve experienced in a long time. Close your doors. You will not be missed. Hire staff that wants to work.

    Food was great. Waiters were great. Matradee, eehhhh. I planned a surprise birthday party for my wife. The two of us walk in and go to the bar. I go over to the matradee and I let the matradee know what's going on. A short time later, she tells us our table for 6 is ready. So much for the surprise. SMH

    The place is nice Albright too noisy. The service adequate. The problem is the food. A couple of dishes were too spicy for us. There should be a note on the menu or by the server. I ordered Torta, chicken Milanese, it was not edible. The texture of the cutlet was like him that was over fried. Nobody asked me why I did not touch it beyond the one bite taken. I will not recommend this place.
