Service and food was great! I hope to eat there the next time I attend the Ballet or Chamber Music.
The service was excellent and they were so nice. The food is commercial and they put cheese on everything so if you are lactose sensitive beware. The guacamole made at your table is worth the price and they cater to your taste. My seafood was so so and the vegetables were undercooked . They were so busy that I didn’t want to send it back since we had a show to catch. It’s a big place but full of tourists so not for me but if you are fro out of town and want something slapshy go for it
The guacamole, salsa, and service were stellar. The rest of the food and the overall ambiance did not match our expectations. It wasn’t terrible. Just not up to our standards I suppose.
Not nice very run down
Great experience, fabulous service , nice ambience, good food and value!
The best mexican food ever! I visit Mexico regularly and go to good restaurants over there but this one is the best!
Great value for the locale, cuisine, and customer service!
I get that every one is understaffed-but we sat for a full hour before receiving our meal. We had to ask about our drinks and then we sent one cocktail back twice before our server “went behind the bar and made it myself”. The food arrived cold and we were done waiting and waiting so we ate a few bites and left. I feel like this location has been steadily declining over the years. I won’t be back anytime soon.
Loved it! Staff was great, service was fast. Location is really great (Lincoln Center). We dine here often when we’re seeing a performance.
Food was not up to par. Soggy tortillas. Portions skimpy
The service and food were excellent. They were receptive of our time constraints due to a show following dinner.
great food at a moderate price. Very convienient to Lincoln Center
It was a strange night at the restaurant. We were there for a 6:00 pm Thanksgiving dinner and were told by several people that the restaurant was closing at 7:00 pm. But not to worry we had time to finish dinner within the hour. Just what you want to hear on Thanksgiving! Long story short as I watched people being seated at 7:00 pm and asked again what was going on, I was told that no the restaurant was not closing at 7:00 pm. That was the latest time people could be seated. If I hadn’t asked several times to clarify that the restaurant was closing at 7:00 pm that would be one thing. But I did and my husband did. Needless to say, the fastest Thanksgiving I ever had!
It is sad to have the place that hosted one’s wedding reception become so disjointed where service was slow as molasses, servers NEVER checked on how anything was or came to check without being flagged, food was cold and drinks were lackluster. Would not recommend this experience to anyone. And how embarrassing! We are locals with out of town guests and they wondered why we had picked up that restaurant.
Terrible service. The ceviche lacked salt, they prepared the main dish with shellfish even though we told them of my allergy and the tacos were not prepared as we ordered them and came cold; they were completely tasteless - we couldn’t eat them. Things were so bad that we were not charged for dinner. Their apologies were nice but they did not make up for a terrible experience.
Seven hostesses on the ground and second floors, yet they’d forgotten about our reservation because we arrived early. Our waiter was fine but covered far too many tables.
We were seated at an awful table. It was by a door that the waiters were using for outside service. We experienced a constant change of temperature. The waiter was poor in communication. Service and food less than adequate. No reason to go there. There are too many great restaurants to frequent to waste time and money at Rosa Mexicana.
I have been many times at Rosa Mexicano, but yesterday was the last time. The dish I ordered (quesadilla di pollo), despite being marked as gluten-free on menu, had a flour tortilla as I realized after the first bite. That was unacceptable. In addition, check in was chaotic, despite us having made a reservation. It took ages to have a waiter get our order. There was no toilet paper in any of the stalls. All in all disappointing.
I found a long blond hair in my food, so I couldn’t finish it, and though the manager refunded it and offered me another dish at that point I didn’t want anything else from that kit hen. Also service was subpar, which is so unusual that we ended up having a conversation about it w the people at the adjacent table.
Rosa Mexicano at Lincoln Center never disappoints!!!
We have dined here many times. This is the first where we did not thoroughly enjoy our experience. We were seated downstairs and the atmosphere was not “energetic”, it was chaotic. Screaming children, cold blasts of air from the outside dining service door, clanging trays… A lot of unpleasant distractions from an otherwise good meal. A small irksome detail was the sticky plastic menu. The whole vibe was more like a busy Applebee’s than what we’ve learned to expect at Rosa Mexicano’s. In the future we will insist on being seated in the upstairs dining area. The wait staff were very courteous, but seemed harried.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service
First time for my 3 friends . . . two of whom just returned from a Mexican vacation. Post-opera dinner. Excellent food! Great service . . . a little slow. Just a pleasant reunion/shared meal.
We had a post-opera reservation on a Saturday afternoon and found the place very crowded and seemingly chaotic, but we finally got a table downstairs--which turned out to be a problem, especially when a door to the outside was opened, which happened often. But the service and food were outstanding, the staff responding well to our requests. Especially liked the grilled portobello, a vegan choice, cooked with kale and maize and a sauce rich with tomatillos, as well as plant-based chorizo. I'm not a vegan but loved this.
Rosa Mexicano is like going back to Mexico and having all the food we love.
Food was excellent, service was okay. My issue however is that this was the only time during our entire visit to the city that my credit card was away from me and the day after our visit there was a fraudulent charge for a hotel in Chelsea - we were staying in Manhattan.
We enjoyed our time there. The food was delicious. I particularly liked the guacamole. Wait staff were helpful. A party in the back made it a bit noisy.
A lovely evening!
The quality of the food has really gone downhill - one of my party got sick last evening after eating our meal.
This restaurant is good for pre-show dinners before going to a performance at Lincoln Center. Good price point for a fairly casual meal.
Ceviche was spicy but very tasty. We told our waiter that we had 7:30 pm opera tickets (for a 6:15 reservation) and he was able to get us out on time. We ordered chips and salsa, ceviche sampler and a chicken asada main dish - all shared by the two of us. The chips came out quickly followed by the main dish. They forgot the ceviche. It came out pretty quickly when we told the waiter that it was missing but we were hoping for it to be our appetizer. The margherita was great. Overall the meal was very good and our bill was $54 - a real bargain in NYC.
Delicious Guacamole, fish tacos, Carnitas and Margaritas. Great service. Very comfortable and spacious restaurant. Consistently good.
Seated quickly. Nice wait staff. Rice was a bit underdone. Drinks were great! Quick service
We love Rosa Mexicano at Lincoln Center. The service was really slow last night and the food was lukewarm when it was served. The drinks were excellent. We were there on Thursday, November 17, 2021
Good food and service but my wife found everything a bit too spicy.
