Had the fixed dinner and the guacamole. The guacamole is a must have. It's delicious. The enchiladas were a bit bland, but good. The tilapia was the whole fish! We had a great experience except toward the end, they weren't as attentive and it took awhile to get the bill. Nevertheless, we will definitely be coming back! The fixed menu is an incredible value.
Only gave for noise because we ate outside and it being Friday night, the Mt Sinai ambulance were very busy. Not fault of restaurant. We really like their outdoor setup. Waiter was excellent helping me choose a new Gluten Free entree which I hadn’t tried before and it was excellent. Will return soon!
Love the margaritas and table-side gaucamole
Place has gone downhill . Bad food and service.
Terrible service. So many mistakes by multiple members of the staff. Guacamole was $30….$30……..for guacamole……
Saw the waiter twice the entire night. Terrible experience.
Terrible food. Very disappointed.
Delicious duck breast with blueberry chipolte sauce, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Great value.
Service was terrible. Guacamole was unrecognizable. I asked for Margarita without salt. It came with salt. Much too noisy.
Excellent food. Great service early in the evening slowing down a little late in the meal. But overall we enjoyed our visit and would definitely come again.
Rosa Mexicano - old reliable - everything still fresh and good - 2 years later to return to Lincoln Center and RM was great - but man was our waiter GROUCHY!
Excellent service from waiter, but after he took our dinner order (immediately following guacamole and drinks) it took almost 40 minutes for our dinner to arrive. Instead of a leisurely dinner with dessert, we had to eat quickly and leave in order to arrive at Lincoln Center in time for a performance.
Rosa Mexicano remains one of our go-to restaurants when we come to New York for the opera. The food and service are always reliable. This time we had the chef's special three course meal, which was quite tasty and a great value at $38. The room always has an energetic feel, but is not overly noisy.
Love the tables outdoors for dining. Hostess gave us a bit of a hard time as we did NOT have reservations, but thanks to OpenTable we secured a reservation and were seated without delay. Good drinks, good food. Will return.
Very nice ambiance and location. Friendly and attentive service. Entree initially came out of kitchen cold.
Birthday for my wife.
We always have a great date night! Service and vibes are great every time :)
We went take our cousins to eat from another country and they loved it! The waiter (forgot his name, sorry) was very attentive and took great care of us. The food was amazing as always and we can’t wait to go back again.
The service was slow. We didn't see our waiter for a long time and our food arrived about 45 minutes after we ordered. They are probably short staffed. Otherwise, food, atmosphere and COVID safety very good.
The poor waitstaff suffered because of disorganization at the front desk, which was having trouble juggling takeout orders and left dining customers, with reservations, standing around while they squabbled over how to get tables cleared so people could be seated. they definitely need a better system. they complained openly about shortstaffing as an industry-wide problem, which is definitely true. the waitstaff remained cheerfully heroic and helpful, though. and the food was as enjoyable as ever.
Everything was great. (food, and service) Caroline, the manager took the time check with each table to see how they were enjoying their dinners. It was not just a token visit but a sincere visit. She also gave encouragement to staff members.
Love this place. Atmosphere is wonderful and so is the food. Everyone talks about the guacamole but my faves are their fish tacos and chicken enchiladas. It was my bday and at the end of the meal they brought me a luscious flan with a candle in it.
The guacamole here is still one of the better ones, but the rest of the dishes have gone downhill. I've been here twice recently--four appetizers, four main courses in total. Tortillas/taco shells used to be terrific--but now doughy and tasteless. Camarones chewy. Carnitas were waaaaaay overcooked. Even the black beans have become bland. Many plates seem to have been frozen and nuked. We go to Lincoln Center a lot, and really only return here because there are so few other places nearby. I realize that the pandemic has impacted restaurants terribly (the servers here seem very confused and inexperienced) but where are the former great chefs?
I guess it was not our night at Rosa Mexicana. We had a 4:30 reservation to allow for a relaxed dinner before our 7 p.m. opera curtain. The hostess took me a table downstairs on the bar level.
Now upstairs is really beautiful with tablecloths and a nice atmosphere. Downstairs not so much. Hard top tables which didn’t even feel too clean. The hostess told me upstairs wasn’t open until 5 and we couldn’t sit there. So the experience was not too great. The food was ok, but service was lackadaisical. Next time if offered downstairs seating, I just wouldn’t stay.
Great service. Excellent food! Highly recommend. We needed extra help getting an elevator to the 2nd floor and the staff was most obliging.
So glad to see Rosa has survived the Pandemic, still serving the best pitchers of Red sangria, guacamole and Tortilla soup!
Outstanding food—fresh, flavorful, creative. Unfortunately the service, at least at the outdoor booths, was unapologetically neglectful, and in the case of the busser, outright surly & dismissive.
Food came out very slowly. Over 90 minutes for appetizer and main, had to leave before dessert came in order to make lincoln center curtain
We ordered from the “shareables” menu. It was fun to have the variety, and we couldn’t overeat because everything was small plates. The churros made a wonderful dessert, also designed for sharing.
First the good -- great atmosphere and location, warm and friendly people, great guacamole and drinks.
Alas, the dinner took a really long time and was cold and undercooked. We were going to a show so didn't have the option of returning it for a redo.
Excellent food and service
Great food and extra friendly service.
Touristy Mexican. Nothing special. Am I at 50 characters yet?
We are pescatarians and always looked forward to brunch at Rosa. This time, however, no more offerings of eggs Benedict with smoked salmon or crab meat. Everything had beef, pork or chicken. We asked if one dish could be made with veggies of some sort rather than the meat. We got push back. When we persisted, they offered spinach and mushrooms. Fantastic! Except when it arrived, there was no meat, nor spinach and mushrooms! The $10 Virgin Mary (Bloody Mary without alcohol) had no spices nor veggies, just tomato juice on ice. I've always looked forward to Rosa at Lincoln Center. Will now reconsider. Sorry if you're having pandemic supply chain problems, but I know you can do something for pescatarians/vegetarians.
Waiter was good and attentive, but food came out cold.
The millenial hostess was an incompetent idiot. The service was disjointed and inefficient and the food was fine. Used to be a fun great place, with great food -even this one - which is a tourist trap. The original on First was the.best. RIP Rosa.
Queso, tacos, salsa and margaritas make for the perfect date night. The food is always delicious.
Everything was wonderful. The only issue was no info as to where the handicapped bathrooms were. I was with my 80 yo mom and have an invisible disability. When I ask staff after climbing about 25 stairs, I was told there was an elevator, but people often went outside to take another elevator that is closer to the rest room. Not exactly handicap friendly and staff seemed stunned that I commented on it. I suggested they put a sign up to make it convenient for patrons.
Went with friends - food was amazing!
Napoleon got us in and out in time for the Opera.
