About Rosa Mexicano by Lincoln Center

Our highly anticipated second Rosa Mexicano location opened in July 2000. Just steps away from Lincoln Center, this impressive David Rockwell-designed space features a 30-foot iridescent blue tile water wall that spans both levels of the restaurant and is adorned with 240 miniature cliff divers. Here you’ll also find a dramatic “floating” staircase made of orange and red terrazzo slabs and backlit panels behind the bar embedded with rose petals. Awarded “Best Restaurant 2000” by Interiors Magazine, this unique, contemporary look ushered in a new era for us at Rosa Mexicano.

Brought my mom here for her birthday, which happened to be Thanksgiving Day 2017. Out of all the places I’ve taken her, this was her favorite. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and we can’t wait to go back

Great restaurant! We don’t live local to this restaurant so we make sure when we are in the area to make a reservation. Speaking of reservations, our reservation was at 6:15, but we got there quite a bit earlier and they got us in! The decorations are very nice with a picturesque wall full of little diving men. I would really recommend the guacamole. They make it right in front of you which is nice to watch and enjoy. They also have great gluten free options including all the chips, tacos, quesadillas, and even some desserts. I also enjoyed the margarita! I would definetely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Ate at Rosa Mexicana before a performance at Lincoln Center. Everything was quite good, starting with the drinks and guacamole made tableside. Most things were a bit spicy for my 80 year old mother but the rest of us found it mild enough. Location is great. I would not head up to this area just to go to this restaurant, but for a very good pre-opera meal, it was just right. Will definitely be back.

Beside the many creative, delicious dishes and drinks, the guacamole is out of this world. Service was perfect. Ambiance is pretty and soothing, with ample room between tables for private conversations.

Not very many restaurants for pre-theather dinner in the Lincoln Center area. Rosa Mexicano is always a good choice! Very good food and service. We were there for my Birthday dinner and all was very good. They also have updated their menu with some interesting new choices. We will be back!

The first thing I have to state is from the moment you arrive the staff are absolutely fantastic. Next to the open staircase to the second floor dining room is a wonderful waterfall with cliff divers all lined up in various positions as they "fall" towards the waters below. There are a lot of agave cocktail options and fresh guacamole can be prepared at your table to your level of spice. The menu options are themselves varied and all excellent.

Our visit was a pre-opera brunch. This is a beautiful, airy space. The food was very good, the pace was relaxed, and (most importantly) the noise level was low. It was wonderful to be able to converse. So often now restaurants are all hard surfaces, the tables are jammed together, and the noise level is ear shattering.

Service was impeccable, server knew details about perhaps every tequila on the menu and timed the courses very well. Food was excellent however the ambiance in the room away from the windows leaves something to be desired and it was pretty noisy.

The guacamole prepared at the table was excellent as were the warm tortilla chips served with it. I asked for my grilled shrimp w/o chilies- it was served that way with sauce on the side- I was pleased. Others at the table ordered 3 different enchiladas- they weren't as happy. They were just okay. Our beef taco eater was smiling throughout his meal.

Very convenient to Lincoln Center theaters.

Thoroughly enjoyed the pork carnitas and Budin de Pollo. The pork carnitas came with tortillas and came with a selection of condiments to make tacos. Especially enjoyed the grilled pineapple. The Budin de Pollo was a layered mixture of chicken, tortillas, cheese and sauce. Great choice. Also really enjoyed the sangria.

I was truly disappointed by the service and quality of food from my first experience at Rosa Mexicano. I was looking forward to this date and Restaurant having being from California and missing some great quality Mexican food.

When I arrived to the restaurant I was immediately welcome
By the host staff and receptionist, but as soon as we got seated our waiter became impatient and I noticed that he brought it out on the lack of care of our table as he gave more attention to the bigger tables than my table.

Secondly I ordered a Tampiqueña Steak as medium well and so tell me why my steak came out in less than 5 minutes after I ordered ???? Clearly there was a mistake because last I remember a Medium well steak isn’t cooked in less 5 minutes. The food turned cold in 5 Minutes

Absolutely horrible. We were attending a conference across the street (world business forum) and I had made a reservation in advance. We were at the restaurant for an hour and a half and our food never came. We ended up having to leave without eating and went back to our conference hungry. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

Very good fixed price lunch but so much food. We had the guacamole first and it really was too much. My suggestion is smaller portions for the fixed price lunch.

Nice place before going to Lincoln Center. I had dinner with a dear friend. The food was excellent large portions, tasty, authentic. The service was a little slow and we did not get any attention after the food was served. The table side guacamole is a must.

Absolutely LOVE Rosa Mexicano!!! Have been to this location a few times as well as the union square location and can't get enough. My boyfriend and I love to come here to celebrate our anniversary, birthdays - whatever excuse we can think of. Food and drinks are great, everything is fresh and authentic, SUPER tasty! A bit on the pricey side, but not too bad. And it's worth every penny.

RM is a friendly, lively venue. It is a chain, so the food is not gourmet, but it is passable. The servers are the best. They are attentive, professional, energetic and work hard to accommodate guests.
Our drinks arrived quickly. There were 6 of us; sharing a sort of reunion evening, since 4 of us had gone to high school together 50+ years ago and made arrangements to meet in the city. We wanted somewhere casual so we could talk and laugh. RM filled the bill.
Even though catching up with each other was or priority, the servers kept our dinner courses coming in a timely manner. As did queries about second drinks.
Of course, there is no better tableside prepared fresh guacamole than at RM. Delish !!!!

Rosa Mexicano’s location is excellent! Just across Lincoln Center.....great before your show. We had dinner there, food and service were very good and because is so close to the teather we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves. Make sure you have reservations....it was busy....glad the restaurant honor ours even though we were a bit late....😬 good place to have a nice dinner!

Many dishes are rather bland and overpriced for what you get. Avoid the enchiladas. The prepared at the table guacamole IS justifiably their most popular item. And the churros as a dessert at the end are excellent. A lot of the main courses disappoint. The main attraction of this particular Rosa Mexicano is that it's virtually across the street from Lincoln Center, so it's very convenient prior to the opera, concert or ballet. Tends to be very noisy when at its busiest.

Rosa Mexicano is right across from Lincoln Center, so from a location standpoint it is a great pre-theatre/concert/ballet/opera option. With plenty of seating, there is a good chance of booking a table even at a busy time. The trade off is that the rather standard Mexican food, while competent and fresh, is overpriced and there are few salad options. I can recommend the guacamole and my son enjoyed the skirt steak. Service was prompt and courteous.

I have been to the Rosa Mexicanos in Cancun and Miami and love them both. New York’s doesn’t disappoint: Great location, good food and excellent, friendly service. The guacamole, prepared alongside our table, was great!
The setting is elegant without being stuffy, and yes, you can carry on a conversation without having to raise your voice. I recommend it and will go back. But don’t forget to make a reservation. You won’t get in without it;)

Had a post-concert late dinner at Rosa Mexicano across from Lincoln Center. Location is terrific, and if you're seated at a window upstairs (or, seated outside) you have a nice view of New York life around LC. The table-side-made guacamole was excellent. Enchiladas, tacos and a dish called "Budin de Pollo" were all very good. We ordered a pitcher of sangria which was just OK, but we've had the Frozen Pomegranate margarita on previous visits, and it is great. Overall, a nice relaxed place to eat Mexican food with friends. And the decor of the restaurant is really interesting too.
